I love Steve and Gene continuing with this. The vocalist is doing a great job, probably the best it will get to mimicking Chuck. But it just makes me miss Chuck.
Vocalist seems real humble in his approach and they nail the sound as a band in the ways you'd hope for seeing them live. Not much more I can ask for than that. :)
@@srajeshwarishastry7646 💯🔥. Love the new mastered version of the album. they turned up his bass tracks so you can really hear it in the mix. His fretless bass tone is 🔥
@@dmusiclife5727 They also released a great remastered version of the human album. His bass was buried on the original version but his great basslines are clearly audible on the remastered version and Sean's drums also sounds better on the remastered version.
Sounded just like the album !!!! Forever in our hearts!!!!! For some of us, this music is just music-- FOR OTHERS--it is a part of our childhood / teenage years and our entire life!!!! 😊❤😢😮😊😊😊😊😊
it's so amazing that they do this .. i missed out on Death back then ... i've seen Pantera, Tallica, Deth, Slayer, Sepultura ...all in their prime ... but i missed Chuck ... and i bougth HUman when it came out .... when DTA toured the 25 years of Symbolic i got to see them ... i finally managed to hear Death live ... i'll never be thankful enough
I saw Death on the Individual Thought Patterns tour in 1993 in San Francisco. To say that they were incredible would be an understatement! I have always thought that music of this intensity should be played in smaller venues- it just sounds better. Gene was playing an 8 piece Pearl Custom Z kit with Paiste cymbals and a boat propeller that he would hit and spin. Steve was playing a 4 string fretless- not sure the make, but what an incredible spectacle of musical virtuosity. I will never forget it.
Or he'd be pissed off people played his music, fire the entire band, quit the tour and go back home. Nothing but love for Chuck but he was difficult at times.
This is nice played... guys' Sir CHUCK SCHULANDER, was the father og grooves, guy., after Sir Chuck, my favourate & my most favorite albums of Death are, Sound Of Percivitence, after that, Symbolic. Individual thought patterns... 🙂🤘🤘🤘
It did happen, I saw DTA live a couple of times with both Paul and Sean in it. Believe that was around 2013-14, with a big focus (heh) on Human. Then the last time I saw them in 2015 Gene had replaced Sean and it was more Individual Thought Patterns and Symbolic stuff.
new Death can't exist without Chuck. They can flawlessly continue on his legacy by putting up great live shows, but as for the new music under 'Death' label - no way.
Do you like naps?! I like naps!!!! But I’m not gonna take a nap!!!!! Are you?!?! It’s not time to sleep!!! Even though I like to sleep!!! Who else here likes sleeeeep!!!!! I didn’t sleep today or yesterday!!! And I fucking LOVE naps!!!! Like fucking all if YOOOOuUUY!!!!! But we’re not sleepy right now!!!!!!! Are you sleepy!?!?! It’s not night night time for us yet!!!! Sleep time will be in a couple hours, after we get home and put on our jammies and brush our TEEEeEth!!!! Amazing performance 🤘🏽😈🤘🏽
Great!! When I was 20, I listened HUMAN. Then I really surprised Bass sound. But next album, hi was not there. My feeling was soo sad and disappointed. Now I'm really happy. Maybe chuck happy too. Thanks!!!
Of course, I'm glad! I love Steve's Bass playing, and I listen to the "Drum & Bass tracks" for the Human album a lot. Anyway, Steve and Gene Together as One is always just amazing.
Heat up the venue and the singer should have his shirt off, don't look at the guitar look at the audience. It sounds good but it could look better. No one could replace Chuck, but if you want to try... ;) I hope Gene lives forever.
To be fair; he is playing music that is very precise and technical. Chuck’s passages were extremely intricate and I’m not even a guitar player, (Drummer). Also, it’s not his material either; but even when watching Chuck play. You can tell that he was all about trying to recreate the same sound as identical; if not better to the recorded version of these tracks. R.I.P. Chuck and Sean.
Gene Hoglan+Steve DiGiorgio
Musicianship doesn't get any better than this.
Well. Sure it does but nevertheless these guys are pure fucking gold.
Damn right
That Bass intro was from a Sadus's song, wasn't it?
@@willianisfran7522 No that was Merciless Death by Dark Angel.
Relax man.Hoglan is a good normal thrash metal 8ķn ondrummer.nothing special. He is not even a death metal drummer since he never look
I love Steve and Gene continuing with this. The vocalist is doing a great job, probably the best it will get to mimicking Chuck. But it just makes me miss Chuck.
And Bobby
Same here. They sound great, but it's just not the same.
Vocalist seems real humble in his approach and they nail the sound as a band in the ways you'd hope for seeing them live. Not much more I can ask for than that. :)
hoglan and reinert are the divine duality of drums
Uhhhh...Reinert will always be a god.
that comment is so stupid
with richard christy..trinity
@@bst1984 Well, this comment sadly now holds true. :/
Richard Christy deserves credit. Not only did he have to learn all their drum parts, he had to fill their shoes as well on TSOP
RIP to the great Sean Reinert. He’d be proud Gene amazing performance.
Also Steve dosent get the credit he deserves.
Guys phenomenal on the bass
Steve gets huge credit & admired by many worldwide....What is it he deserves??
@@deadkiser6909 When it comes to Death it’s always Gene & Chuck. Steve never gets talked about unless you live under a rock

Gene Hoglan, one of the few living metronomes therefore one of the greatest metal drummers.

The dude is Chuck Part 2. The way he holds the guitar and everything, even how he shakes his head to get hair out of his face
Agreed man,who is he ?
I feel like he did that on purpose
The voice is quite accurate too
Max Phelps from Maryland
Yeah but a band with no show is not a good live band
Max Phelps is a very good impersonator of Chuck in every way, the perfect clone, RIP Chuck, your legacy goes on!
0:56 Steve playing the intro to Merciless Death by Dark Angel? Fuck yeah! That's respect right there
Yeah! I wrote Sadus in other comment :/
I cried!!!!!😢😢😢😢😢 FUCKIN 1991 all over again!!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🫡🇺🇸
So cute to see this side of Gene's personality! Gene and Stevie are the best, period! That's why Testament is best thrash band. Great post! Thanx!

omfg simply amazing. Gene Hoglan is the man!
gene hit that hand pentagram hard as fuk... need to learn that
That was amazing. Chuck would be proud

I was tired of waiting for the song to start! lol Saw this tour a couple of times and Death on the Human tour as well!
Very appropriate song name... look at his face at 3:22 hahaha
I wish this project would come to Florida

Also, Chuck owned the rights and such. The same reason why Metallica can't get rid of Lars.

Gene is killing it, but Bobby Koeble is nice with it too!!!!

I missed one, that's, Philosopher... 🙂🤘🤘🤘
The vocalist is doin a damn good job, but has ZERO stage presence lol
Just as Chuck! No offence but he was always dull to watch.
I think Chuck had good presence every now and again, especially the Eindhoven gig. He was still, but had that stance of confidence.
very true haha...Gene the Machine woulda been one hell of a frontman in a band though ;-)

Who is in this so called incarnation of Death besides Gene?
Steve DiGiorgio and Bobby Koelbe, are in this video. Both played with Death.
Ah yes of course, whos the guitarist/vocalist then?
Just goes to show how talented Sean Reinert was. As good as Gene is he’s still not playing it quite right.
