id love to see DEATH TO ALL (THRASH): Death Covers The Hits just madddd thrash metal covers... metallica, Slayer, Testament, Exodus, maybe a Megadeth tune in there.
I love just deaths sound in general, chuck knew how to blend classic metal like power and thrash and took it that step further with extremity but at the same time kept it really nice and melodic as well
It's kind of sad that the only people that recognize Chuck's genius are limited to metal fans. I think if he had lived longer and done more with Control Denied that his brilliance could have reached more people.
They were going to have a short cover album released by this lineup. That's why we have that outtake of the Exorcist on the ITP reissue. Fun fact: Gene played guitar on the song (IIRC).
R.I.P. Chuck. You music lives on forever. Spiritual healing was my absolute favorite. To hear your great lyrics and to hear you and James duel it out on those amazing solos.
Gene Hogland's an amazing drummer. Met him after a Dark Angel gig in Glasgow on the Time does not Heal tour (showing ma age..). He was as cool as hell, had a beer with us and made a real effort to thank everyone for coming. Cool Dude.... RIP CHUCKY
Volis? You're probably right, I was making a direct reference to early Slayer. By 1986 you had Possessed, Kreator, Sepultura, Sodom etc but in 1983 when most of those bands were discovering this, they were all fapping over slayer
Jillimy Jilikers Pa ono ^^ Well, yea but Show no Mercy came out in like December 1983, so you might consider it a 1984 album. Not that it matters that much though. But still, 1984 was a much greater year when it comes to extreme (death / black) metal, with Bathory, Celtic Frost, Destruction and Sodom all releasing their debuts along with Slayer's Haunting the Chapel and Venom's At War with Satan, and all those albums had an influence on the developing death metal. Of course, it was the next two years that lit the fuse of what was to become death metal.
Kuku, lele dunjeranke. If you've heard early Mantas/Death demos and the like, the vocals point towards the death growl. Hellhammer was also very heavy, but I think the breaking point towards more 'extreme' metal was Slayer, speedwise. That's the best sound anyway, early death/thrash, just awesome. Where are you from?
anarchitect420 This music has never been accepted by anybody except us, the hard core metal fans. Your parents were probably listening to Soundgarden in 1993. They had absolutely no clue at that time that this music even existed.
MuristekTV-- I hear ya bro, although i will say that my dad was into some cool music but death just slipped under his radar probably as death was a little less main stream, and he grew up in nebraska, not a lot of music scenes there. But my dad did get me into primus, zeppelin, floyd, maiden, and others so he wasn't all bad. My mom was a van halen head, total 80's chick. I was born in the wrong generation, I at least got to see a few slayer shows with jeff before he keeled over.
Holy crap, Craig Locicero of Forbidden is the other guitarist????? Never knew he was in Death for any length of time. Freaking COOL!!!!!!!!!! Forbidden's album, Green, is my favorite by them. Killer riffs!
Damn.. awesome upload! Huge fan of Death, and this was a treat to say the least.. now I gotta find some more live stuff.. Death for Life, and Life till Death!
Holy crap! What a good cover of a good song! Impressive how well they made this sound like one of their own songs almost, very familiar to their early stuff. So cool
i love both bands i listen to both slayer and death daily and people need to stop comparing the two and just listen to this awesome cover chuck will be missed by all
@makavelipachito That's right, when I listen to Scream Bloody Gore and Death/Mantas demos, even if they are one entity of a kind, there's this huge Thrash influence that can't be ignored.
WTF! This is the fucking best Black Magic cover EVER! So good as the original song and still it has a Death "feeling". His vocals fits too damn good. I would be proud if Death played one of my band's song. R.I.P Chuck!
Mustaine is great guitarist awesome song writer but this man chuck is a guitar wizard and his vocals fucking awesome... and song writing...i have no no words
i went and saw cannibal corpse, faceless, and obscura a few months ago, and obscura did several death covers and THEY WERE AMAZING! probably the best death covers i ever heard! check them out!
When speaking Chuck had the voice of an angel but when singing he had the voice of a demon. Badass.
Every death metal vocalist ever
voice of an angel? more like the voice of comedian Nick Swardson if you ask me.
@@adamwangler1706 we didn't ask you
@@adamwangler1706 you were not asked

my favorite band covering my favorite band, how awesome is that
Chuck is eternal for real headbangers.
Death should have covered every thrash metal song ever to make it better.
id love to see DEATH TO ALL (THRASH): Death Covers The Hits just madddd thrash metal covers... metallica, Slayer, Testament, Exodus, maybe a Megadeth tune in there.
I kill a communist for fun are you kidding me? Point out a song chuck couldn't play from coroner
God of thunder is so good in Human album
@@Dankehum Painkiller in sound of preserverance too. I mean Death could cover any band and it would sound dope

Yep, Now Jeff Becerra took his place
DEATH covering SLAYER, the most influential and the best bands ever.
Damn, i wish this was studio recorded
Fucking brutal. I wish Chuck did a studio recording of this...
Indeed bro then it could have been like painkiller
@@sohan_chakraborty yes, instead of the Kiss cover
@@Kamil_Srnkawhat’s wrong with the kiss cover, it’s better than the original

That's one hell of a line up man. Death, Sadus, Forbidden and Dark Angel. Just awsome!
You can absolutely not get any more fucking metal than this. DEATH \m/ SLAYER

two legends, two history of cassical metal: Slayer and Death
This is great, Evil Chuck and company covering Slayer is great!!
great cover by a Legendary Band R.I.P. Chuck
my mom sent me here o.o
+Alexander Bler You were raised well.
Well you've been raised very well!
lucky you
Alexander Bler Listen to your mother!!
my DAD sent me here
Hoglan is wearing his shades like a boss and Chuck is flawless as usual, amazing video
This is my favourite Death's line up. DiGiorgio + Hoglan = epic win!
Chuck seems like such a humble guy, and obviously an incredible musician.
SSSSLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Digiorgio and Hoglan, if I'm not mistaken
This is the perfect line up for death. Craig Locicero is a thrash metal master, Gene Hoglan is the atomic clock and Steve DiGiorgio a legend too
Respeckt to Chuck and Death but without Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits there would be no Death Metal
Possibly, but Reign in Blood definitely had a much bigger impact.
Volis?

MuristekTV Soundgarden is awesome.
I like both Death and Soundgarden..although Death is better

Kelly Rankin--- death to me is much more listenable than soundgarden but i actually saw soundgarden in 2011 and they were alright, no death for sure
Holy crap, Craig Locicero of Forbidden is the other guitarist????? Never knew he was in Death for any length of time. Freaking COOL!!!!!!!!!! Forbidden's album, Green, is my favorite by them. Killer riffs!
Craig only toured with them on the Human tour I believe, Hes a fuckin badass though
DARK ANGEL -l-
sytby well technically he replaced Sean reinhert on drums but yeah
@@mickeysheehan5635It was the ITP tour. Ralph Santolla also toured with them on the same tour.
Sweet. Black Magic was actually the first song I ever figured out how to play by my own ear waaay back -- 1992-1993.
