Many of you spotted the start of the new nano fish tank racking system at the end of the last video....it's time to get it DONE! Hi MD, planted shrimp tanks look awsome👏. Keeping sponge filters in shrimp tanks is recomended, because young ones dine on it. I woud also advise to replace/remove weight from the filters feet, its usually made from iron and it happens to be not comepleatly sealed in plastic case. Other thing is that cascade filters(kind of hob) are less efective (less volume), so i would avoid those.
I’m really loving how often you’re posting. There’s so much going on with the new studios and fish. It makes me so excited for my tall shrimp vase but I have to wait for the water to settle and check before I can add the rainbow shrimp :(
It is really impressive how often you upload new content and how much effort you put in every single video! I already get annoyed when one plant in my tank floats to the top and I have to get my hands wet to replant it and you just casually shift 12 fully planted tanks so the new rack doesnt block any view. Admirable!
One of the best channels on line!! for more then 13 years I was a 100% saltwater aquarist! Now three tanks after watching one of your blogs I was hooked! Thanks for inspiring!!
Who cares if your plants are free or if you pay for them? That is no ones concern but your own! Just by watching these videos we are helping to pay for your hobby and we benefit from the knowledge and expertise. Rock on and keep doing what you do, let those haters hate. We (the majority of viewers) love watching you because you are fun and down to earth and bring content that we connect with!
I'm a big fan of under gravel filters, but absolutely love your tanks! They look fantastic and especially love the "neat" and tidy look of the whole place. So many others have a fish room (basement or garage) that look scattered and unorganized, which takes away from the peaceful nature of keeping tanks and fish and shrimp (in your case). Keep posting and I'll keep watching.
Mate that pearlweed farm is looking insane! So happy the way you're hard work is paying off dividends now! This is among the best aquatic youtube content IMO, you got me back into the hobby after 15 years away (and working for an aquatic shop) keep it up!
Your Vlogs are AMAZING!! I love your energy, humor & special effects w/the magical 'Snap of the Fingers' task completions. :) I'm waiting anxiously for my new Waterbox 20 nano to arrive so I can get started w/my Celestial Pearl Danios scape!!
@MD the trick with the food is to get bigger shrimp food so they can't take it out of the dish and will stick all together eating at the same time like a swarm
If you’re planning on doing a sorority the cubes are too small for females to establish territory and too small to the adequate number of females for them to establish a hierarchy and disperse the aggression. The large cube in the corner would be more appropriate
Definitely the right decision to move the rack’s! Some hanging plants in the corner would look good, like scindapsus Pictuas or pothos or philodendron Brazil or philodendron Micans. I know fish are your thing but all plants make everything look better. I don’t know what the light is like in that room, but the ficus benjamina you have next to your rocks might need more light 💡 but will love all that humidity from the fish tanks. 🌿🌿🌿🌿👍💚
It's good that you're sorting it all out in the beginning, as a designer in an antique store, I know that making and viewing a video helps with the esthetics in the arrangement, you can see in each vignette where it needs to be tweeked...it helps the eye see it in perspective...awesome job...!
I saw this vid on my recomended while looking for a rack for my leopard geckos that has a 24 inch depth. I looked in this vids description and saw a link for a rack and instantly clicked. I thank you for this. This will help me to organize my geckos better!
I’m just getting into whatever you would call this hobby and I find it so interesting how much I don’t know. I’ve been binge watching so many of these videos learning about tanks, plants, fish etc and I can’t wait to start. Looking forward to one day being as knowledgeable as yourself.
Not only do I suffer from MTS personally... Okay now it's a case of I can't quit watching MDMTS (MD's Multiple Tank Syndrome!!)😍🌿🐟🤣It is looking amazing... very classy. I agree with you what you did with the corner with your Cube tanks. I probably would have to put some kind of plant in that corner 😁 can't waste that space! I'm glad that you and I share talent with zip ties 🤣🤣 better than duct tape any day 🤣🤣 Now surely you're going to put up a camera system, because how can you sit in one room and think about looking at the other one? 🤣🤣... Oh the struggle is real🤣 As always I really enjoyed the video maybe you can call it the "MD Aquarium" and people can come from all over the world just to see your fish and aquascapes! I know I certainly would! For now, thank goodness for front row seats is pretty good!! Have a great weekend MD and thank you for sharing!🙏🌿🐟🌿✌️
Thank you for making our dark days brighter! I only dream of having the tanks you have mate, and keep adding in the memes, theyre fantastic - and those who don't like it can just deal with it :)
Looking great! I recommend keeping a card handy for each tank with the plant list for each one! So many new plants, and you know we are going to ask. All the time. And you are going to want to know which ones are doing well....I do it for my garden (or at least keep all labels in an envelope)
Good video. If I could make a suggestion... Please consider putting a net or cover over the drain of the sink if you're going to unbag fish like that into the net. If a fish jumps out while you're doing that they'll go right down the drain. I just had a fish jump as I was pouring into the net and luckily it was on my table so I could easily get it. I'd hate for one of your fish to go down the sink drain.
Wheels! I love them under my aquarium stands (shelving, cabinets, etc...). Then you can easily move the aqquarium(s) for maintenance or if you want to move the whole thing somewhere else without the huge work of draining or unhooking equipment. And let's face it, some of us are always having new great ideas 😜
Putting them on wheels can take away a lot of the load/weight bearing capacity though. I just ordered a new metal shelf for tanks. With wheels it has a 250lb per shelf capacity. Without wheels it has a 1000lb per shelf weight capacity. So you have to be super careful when using wheels for aquarium stands/racks.
Hey MD, I've been watching your videos for about a week and you've inspired me to start up my first planted tank! I picked up all the stuff today and I'm giving it a go.....Wish me luck!!!
Would you consider letting your boys design their own tank(s)? Let them pick out the stones, plants, decorations and everything? I reckon it would be great for them to learn firsthand the difference between fake and real plants. You could do 2 nano tanks side by side, no fish, just to show them the pro's and con's of each. It would be awesome for other kids watching to see as well.
I couldn't resist after your videos and bought blue shrimps and almond leaves this morning. Will try a shrimp tank. I have an aquarium full of najas plant, i hope they'll like it.
While bettas sororities can work(I’ve seen maybe one in ten actually work), I don’t recommend trying it as it can be very stressful for the fish and the keeper.
Ooooo I love it when you start setting up new tanks - means more scapes to watch! Could you make a video eventually showing us your maintenance routine? I have 5 tanks and it gets chaotic doing water changes and staying on schedule. I can only imagine how it it is with all the tanks you have!
CHILIS!!!! You got CHILIs!!!! I have been waiting for the local stores toget more in stock so I can add them to the shrimp tank! So jealous! Not fair!!!! ;)
I see you used a G-Rack. I'm in the UK too and considering buying. Do you use the included 5mm MDF boards or did you replace with some plywood? How have they held up?
I looked up the rack on Amazon and the shelves are apparently particle board. Will that black paint help to seal that from water? I'm worried they may getting water damaged easily?
I just started my Nano rack ! Gonna be throwing some Neo Cardidina into them to finish them off! Another astronomical video! Much love from Newfound Aquatics!
I really enjoyed the time lapse of the shrimp feeding from the new dish you got them. I'm seriously thinking about getting a fish tank - maybe one of those small desktop ones.
MD, now you need another tall plant to go in the corner between the shrimp tank's shelf and your new shelf. A nice tall green plant would look great in that corner between those shelves.
Well done Dude! Shrimp tanks are awesome, I need that tiny plate too to prevent my substrate soil gets dirty, last time I fought with Hydra in my shrimp tank and it was not easy!

hey can u do a tank of keyhole cichlids pls
You could put another houseplant in that empty corner, if you haven't already stocked the new rack.
Studio number two is becoming my favourite!!!

I LIKE IT A LOT!!!! 🤣
When you said that, it sounded like king Julien from Madegascar.
hey do you think a tetra 105 Litre would be fine on those racks
Who wants to see MD doing fish breedingg
Meeeeeeeeeee
He does guppys
@ Joe Bob doesn't everyone?
Betta breeding!!?!?!?
Now the fun begins
Me too
Just when you need something to watch MD comes to the rescue
Aye
Yep
He did but asked so many questions none answered. Great shame as the content is amazing. 😌

rainbow shrimp..? You've peaked my interest.
@@drewsample9610 hahaha nah I mean just getting all the different colours of shrimp. I wish though haha
@@jilezkors9653 Different colors of shrimp may loose their color by cross breeding 🤔

Those tank moves were nail biting

to be honest i wait every day for you to post and get a glimpse of Asian peninsula tank . Absolutely love that tank.
I love that tank too. Sometimes I wish it got a good trimming cause that pearl weed is well a weed🤣
MD's UA-cam career is growing faster than my waistline during quarantine 😂
What an underrated comment you have me dying over here 😂🤣😅

I don’t think he means a sorority, probably going to do one female to each tank I would guess with a nice scape in each
Do you really think you need to give this guy any instructions?... I mean seriously.
