I don't know how that horse was able to handle Jaime's balls of steel.
Fucking unoriginal banal comment #2342359834
Raghav Dadhich exactly it’s much lighter than normal steel.
The one scene that made me forget the fact he was shagging his sister.
Daenerys was a dragon, but Jaime acted like a lion
WoW , such a beautiful interpretation!
👊👊
Bron was pretty good too
That too one handed lion
Only a lion would be brave enough to charge at a dragon

If Jaime Lannister killed Drogon he would be known as the Dragonslayer.
There is no way he could have killed drogon while charging at him on a horseback with a spear

Ah yes great reference 💀
Nice!
The imagery for this scene was absolutely fantastic. In the first few seconds of seeing jaime charge at Dany and Drogon I was instantly rooting for him. Not because I dislike Dany, but because the music and scenario are perfect for an epic fight. The brave knight vs the monstrous dragon, with Jaime almost certainly going to die.

Jamie charging towards Dany probably the best scene of Got for me it still gives me chill 🔥
Jamie might be a vicious and vile bastard (at least to the moment when he changed) but he had been extremely brave person with strong sense of honor all the time.
But the scene afterwards was just dumb and illogical... they jumped into that lake, like only 1-2 metres away from the shore... and he sinked there like it was in the mariana trench. Seriously? Already so deep at the edge of this little lake???
@@raaauc magic is like Arya jump xD
Yes - best scene of GOT.. Jamie is true leader/commander...
Season 7 truly captured his essence. Shameful what season 8 did to him
Bronn better get a fucking gigantic castle and the hottest highborn wife ever for this fucking episode.
Mary Sue
That was Dickon who saved him.
Crusaders MMXVII No, that was bronn according to the leaked scripts
It looks more like Bronns black leather armour. than Dickons metal armour. Would be good for Jamie to since Dickon would probably drown in his heavy armour while Bronn migh be able to haul him up.
After pausing it at the moment he's pulled off (0:47), can confirm that's bronn.
No wonder Jaime is sinking with the size of his balls for charging a dragon with one damn hand.
I find this comment oddly homoerotic 😅
How can that water be so deep? His horse was just galloping on it 😂
What a fucking hero, a true knight in shining armor, mounted atop his steed charging a dragon with a lance.
Jaime Lannister is a real knight.
More like Cersei's lapdog. He serves the mad queen
or a very suicidal one, i don't doubt his courage but i must quote what tyrion said "you fucking idiot" end quote...the man has balls i give him that but charging the mother of dragons like that, what did he thought that her child won't burn him?
warbossgrotsmasha23 Listen to the music used for Jaime's charge. It's the sound of a man about to sacrifice himself. He knew irrespective of whether he killed Daenerys or not, he would still get killed by Drogon. But if he did succeed the war would have ended. He won't die now. He is yet to perform his final acts of redemption : killing Cersei and putting an end to the white walker menace. He is Azor Ahai.
Reminds me of Ser Oakheart
I think he was charging at Dany, not the dragon, because she is both easier to kill and more important. Either way a shitton of courage.
"Flee, you idiot...you ffucking idiot!"
Tyrion's exasperation is heartbreaking!
Drogon is like "what is it you think you're doing?"
Jaime was so badass charging her. Standout scene!
best scene on the show in a long time

this was astetically beautiful
Nah season 4 was still pretty good. From 5 on it's down to shit

4 was a mixed bag, it starts to go down hill at 4 however
Actually the most illogical scene in GoT... i mean the scene after the charge, when he jumped into that mariana trench LOL as if that little lake was so deep already at the edge. And do you really think, dany would have let him gotten away after he charged at her? Jaimes plot armor is just amazing lol
@@raaauc she thought he was dead genius along with the horse
The great thing about this scene is that it contrasts so well with his charge at the Battle of the Whispering Wood (where he charged Robb after realizing his force was going to lose), except the reasoning behind his charge has changed. When he charged Robb, he absolutely believed that he would not fail. He sought to cut off the head of the enemy not because he necessarily cared all that much about the aftermath, but because he didn't want to lose and had faith in his own invincibility.
When he lost his hand, he lost much of that belief, and when this battle takes place experience has shown him that he is very mortal. He charges this time, not because of vanity or because of some faith in his invincibility, but because he cares about the aftermath of the battle. He knows that more people will be burned alive should Dany live, he knows what destruction her father sought and what she has already done, and he knows that he will likely be killed in his attempt to make sure that doesn't happen. He charges any way.
It also draws a parallel to what he did with Aerys. He knows what he is about to do is foolish and dishonourable. But he also knows it is the right thing to do
@@prtyproductive book reader vs viewer lmao. That simple comment underneath is great.
I mean Jaime has always been my favourite ASOIAF character after Victarion. I guess how much I liked him in the books translated to the show, at least for the first few seasons
As much as I love Jon, Jaime is the hero of the books. We're intentionally positioned by Geroge to hate him initially, and then slowly realise that we, just like many of the people in westoros were somewhat mistaken about him.
he still pushed Bran out of a window and wanted to kill Arya for Cersei. But underneath it all, is this ideal of a "good knight" struggling against the dirty realities of his world.
Like he doesn't vindictively harm Bran. He does it because Bran's knowledge could get him killed.
Cersei is an absolute materialist. Jaime is honestly more of a spiritualist caught in the thrall of that materialist. She is his only link (at the star of the books) to the material world. ASOW and AFFC is a journey of Jaime slowly finding a place in the material world independent of Cersei.
Jaime Fucking Lannister is a badass!
Drogon, 20 years later telling war stories:
"He came running at me, the dumb high-born lad, thinking he could end the rebellion with a single swing of his spear. I blasted him down with the dragonfire. Gods, I was fiery then. Burned down his pretty red cloak. Probably melted every fucking golden hair he had. Stood over him, fire in the throat. Right before I brought it down he shouted, "Wait! Wait". They never tell you how they all shit themselves. They don't put that part in the songs. Stupid boy. Now the Tarly's bend the knee like everyone else. He could have lingered on the edge of the battle with the smart boys, and today his wife would be making him miserable, his sons would be ingrates, and he'd be waking three times in the night to piss into a bowl."
I heard they don't teach that in fancy dragon lad school :P
the most underrated comment i have ever read lmao
Love how the dothraki guy tells Tyrian that his people can't fight and then his people proceed to seriously injure a full grown dragon with a giant crossbow while it was flying (something the dothraki could never do) and then his brother charges on said dragon like an absolute warrior and madman
Tyrion*
M K he was right. Bronn shot the bolt at the dragon. Not a lannister. The lannister army was slaughtered. That's why Bronn told Jamie they should flee when the Dothraki crested the hill. Even before the Dragon appeared.
It's pretty BS that Bronn would be able to hit the dragon like that. Ballistas aren't precision weapons. They're siege weapons. You point it at a wall, or a mass of soldiers, fire and instead hit another part of the wall, and miss the soldiers. Da Vinci never made a ballista that could move and aim like that, and he was an unparalleled engineering genius.
Right? Especially after she killed all the Dothraki leaders in a single blow. Unarmed, and without her Dragons. What does that say about them?
Jeff McHugh it says they weren't lucky enough to be born fireproof all she did was tip the burning oil over in a locked wood hut not exactly skilful...
Drogon’s just casually “One sec, let me just take care of this, Mum.”
Jaime Lannister, witnessed this monster burn through his men, watching them die in front of him as he shouts for them to take cover. Only to see another Targaryen, the daughter of the man he witnessed burn people alive for his amusement. The daughter of the man who ruined his reputation in exchange for the safety of the seven kingdoms.
He just watched her dragon ravage the supply convoy and all the untrained members of his forces. He just witnessed this dragon burn his comrades. He just witnessed the Targaryen girl.
What else was he going to do?
Daenerys Targaryen is not responsible for what her father did, and she was attacking soldiers not defenseless people, its war what do you expect?
Trump I'm not saying anything against her, I am just saying Jaime's decision to charge is fully understandable from his point of view.
No the decision was completely stupid on his part. It was suicide he would never get close to Daenerys Targaryen its why Tyrion mumbled "you fucking idiot". If he had both hands, then shooting at her with a crossbow would make sense, this didn't
Trump Yeah, why didn't he take out a piece of paper and started doing a full tactical analysis of the situation while his forces were getting fucked and he was in the heat of the moment?

The plot armor was strong in this scene.
The image of Jamie charging at the dragon. Is the exact same image we all had as children. When hearing Fairy Tales of a prince charming charging into danger.
in my opinion i think that both jamie and tyrion lanister are by far this series most worthy characters, no one else holds a candle to them. and this scene is probably the best one in the series.

I like how the water is shallow enough for Jamie’s horse to run in, but when Bronn tackles him off of it, suddenly he’s sinking 30 feet down.
The one thing that Jaime Lannister doesn't lack is balls. The guy is a warriors until the end, even with just one hand which is why I like his character. Even after throwing Bran off the tower. With the way Bran is acting now, be nice if Jaime threw him off another tower.
The things is that he never lie to someones face unless this is to protect his family . When catelyn stark asked him if he tried to kill bran he said yes without stuttering . Telling a mother in the face that you tried to murder his child require a very particular set of balls .

0:48 is an amazing shot! Love this scene.
based jaime, looking back he was 100% the hero here, as Dany ended up turning evil at the last second lmaooo
I loved how this battle is straight out of a fantasy novel of good and evil. A battle between the army of trained soldiers in gilded armor against an invading force if savages and dragons. In any other piece of fantasy, it's clear who's good and evil, but not Game of Thrones. This show has masterfully shown that there is no clear distinction between good and evil, but that in war, the two become blurred.
I fail to see why he thought it was a good ides to charge at her while that dragon was pretty much alive and willing to protect his momma…. But the scene was epic
I love the subtle link to how he killed the mad king by stabbing him in the back. Here he is charging towards Daenerys' back with a spear. :)
Not really. He only stabbed the mad king in the back because he was running away from him after he told him he was going to kill him. Here he is attacking Dany because he literally will be obliterated if she knows he is coming by Drogon. The only real similarity is that the Mad King would have killed all of King's landing if he survived, and Dany is likely to do quite a bit of killing herself now that she has survived this battle.
Jake Austin I know that but before she turned round, he made the decision to impale her in the back.
"You just shot him in the back!"
"Well, his back was to me"

The irony of this scene is fantastic. Game of Thrones is all about demonstrating why medieval fantasy is not like a fairy tale, and lo and behold, one of the most shady and immoral characters in the entire story gets a moment to act like a gallant knight from a fairy tale.
The world did Jaime wrong.
1. He’s considered craven and dishonorable because he killed the Mad King when he’d sworn an oath as Kingsguard to protect him. Yet…
2. Part of Jaime’s decision to kill the Mad King sprang from the fact that he actually witnessed the brutal and unfair murders of Rickard and Brandon Stark, Ned’s father and brother. Jaime felt that he was doing the right thing by killing the Mad King, avenging beloved and honorable men.
3. Ned Stark himself despises Jaime for being “dishonorable” and killing the insane monster who murdered Ned’s own family!
4. By contrast, Barristan Selmy, an “honorable” Kingsguard who stuck by his king even as the latter committed countless atrocities, was actually rewarded by King Robert for sticking to his duty and was given a full royal pardon when Robert took the throne. He is hailed as a hero for not betraying the Mad King (wtf?).
“Honor” in Westeros apparently only extends to duty, not morality. Fail in your duty and you fail as a person, no matter how disgusting the duty may be. In modern times, Jaime would have been considered a hero and Ser Barristan would have been decried as a war criminal.
The Jawgz BEST FUCKING ANSWER. I feel the name "Kingslayer" is a badass name in itself. And now Jamie charges towards drogon with a spear. BADASS LEVEL HAS GONE OFF THE CHARTS.
GO JAMIE FUCKING LANNISTER.

Ser Barristan did commit no war crimes, he fought with honour in open combat.
A beautiful analysis.
Nah. Jaime was given a royal pardon too so, wrong analogy.
Jaime Lannister is a lion
When I read the books and Jaime got his first POV-Chapter in the third one, I immediately started to adore him. He is such an awesome char. And in the show he is played brilliantly. Aside from Bronn, which was just superior to anyone in this episode, Jaime as cripple was still able to command the army under this attack and he almost killed Dany. As much as I love the dragons, it would've been so nice if he killed this arrogant cunt. He was nothing but awesome and also ready to die.

As Stannis once said, Jamie was many things, most of them bad... but the man was still a knight.
And even as he fights for a Mad Queen, knowing her legion of sins (too many of which he had assisted in)... he got to show that to the world, if only one last time. Because that kind of charge? That's the kind of shit knights were exalted to be.
Daenerys is no warrior, she is just a ruler who reliance too much to her Drogon, you can say how scared she is when Jaime rushes towards her. In the other hand Jaime is a true warrior even without his right hand he still has no fear of death.
He may be a true warrior, but he wasn't very smart. Charging at Daenerys with a giant dragon in close proximity? Did he think Drogon was just going to stand there and let him kill her?
@@refulgent_fanta what would you do? Try to run away from a DRAGON? There were 2 options, stopping the massacre and war by charging and killing dany or running back to king s landing. This scene is perfect, for writing and filming. The dark-golden light, surrounded by smoke and fire, the change of focus from Jaime to the pike, the beautiful long shot of him from Tyrion point of view. Tyrion's emotional conflict mirroring our own ambivalent feelings (we empatize with both Jaime and Daenerys).
It's very symbolic, that Jaime wanted to kill another one Targarien in back

Too bad love made him a fool
My heart was pumping so hard last week with this scene
Love how Daenerys facial expression and body language changes - its very subtle but she shifts from fear to confidence as she realises Drogon will protect her. True mother/child bond there, even if he is a dragon!
I just realized Jamie wasn't in the room when King Robert told his story about the "highborn lad who thought he could win the war with a single swing of the sword"
Awww poor Jaime. He didn't get the Dragonslayer XBOX achievement.
Flashbacks from the mad king...
I just love how this scene looks! The white horse in stark contrast to the fire, ashes and big ass monstrous looking dragon. It really makes Jaime look like the good knight out to slay a monster. From Jaime's perspective Daenerys must look like one too, especially considering his history with the madking. The series fucked up by having him kill his cousin, cause if this going to be in the books, Jaime is a lot more selfless in his acts than people realize, and a true unsung hero.
Oh, but Dany is a monster, at least the one in seasons 7 and 8. How people root her for her entitlement is beyond me. She always blindly believes she is the ONE that should rule and the seven kingdoms are her birthday. Shitty girl doesn't understand/ The Throne WAS NOT usurped from their family, it was WON by war, the same way Aegon conquered. Once a king or his heir loses a war, no matter which way they lose, they lose the right to rule. At least Viserys, her brother can be pardoned for being an idiot, Dany has no excuse.
@@aswinastro Remember the scene in season 2 where she threatens to destroy and ravage whoever stands in her way because she doesn't get her way? Yeah, the entire rest of the show her character arc is to double down on that entitlement. She was a monster from day 1. The witch that poisoned Khal Drogo and aborted her child was 100% right about her and what she'd bring to the world.
This scene places so much emphasis on how Jaime is being dragged to the depths by his armor, and the first scene of the next episode is Bronn pulling him out of the water like it's nothing..

I know of no greater life purpose than to perish in attempting the great and the impossible.
Bravery is living and dying by your ideals. The eternal conflict between the lion and dragon is a beautiful articulation of becoming.
There's bravery and then there is stupidity. Charging head on to a dragon in its line of sight. And aiming for its rider who dragons guard with their lives. Overall not a good idea unless you are trying to get yourself killed.
@@TimberlakeTigerGirl it all depends on how you look at it. He saw a window of opportunity, albeit a small one and acted on it. It shows his dedication to his ideal. He truly loves Cersei and is willing to die for her. Whether you agree with that or not isn’t the point. It’s the fact that he has a set of higher ideals is what gives him victory over the dragon. Jamie dies by the hand of the dragon in the end. This is not a coincidence. He dies on his own terms with Cersei.

Only in the Game of Thrones can a man gallop on a horse in ankle high water along the shore line & can get tackle saved into 30 feet of water. Ever make a mad dash dive into the ocean and end up in water above your height? I didn't think so, let alone sinking your way down deep to the water's depth.
The only thing that's even a bigger joke is the opening scene of the next episode. Where Jaime & Bron became the best divers/swimmers of all time. They end up hundreds of feet away, on the opposite side of the shore, coming out of calm water, with weighted gear on, from the deep depth's of the water, all in the breath they dove in on. I can hear the applause coming from all those poor souls that drowned in cement boots.
Love GOT, but they just made a mockery of physics, water depths & man's tolerance in water.
I’m sorry but this has to be the bravest fucking thing u could ever do ....ever!!!
"flee you idiot"... should be "fly you fool" :))
The horse is running in an inch or two of water and then Jamie is sinking down the Mariana Trench.
Would have made a crazy end for him. Valiantly riding to slay the Queen Targarian, while his brother watches.
Would make Cersie's war against her more personal than ever.
Saves King's Landing from getting burned. Dies in dragon fire. Poetic.
Gendry will save Jaime and Bronn from drowning. You can see Gendry rowing in the back just before Jaime hits the water.
I LIKE THE RED FIRE IN THE BACK OF THE THROAT BEFORE FLAME COMES OUT
You can still see Daenerys standing after the flame is released. This is exactly how I'd picture it in a novel. Full detail.
The thing that confuses me is the geography. They were at the shore, Bronn didn't superman tackle him into the sea, so how the fuck did the water suddenly become so deep?
It may have been like a fjord where the water depth plunges really quickly a few feet from shore. Most likely it was lazy writing.
Adam-Wade dude don't make up bad plot devices
