- Secret Life is an odd mix of a Social and PvP Minecraft game started by Grian. Players are thrown into a tiny world with almost no rules, except survive as long as possible.
In Secret Life, players are given a random secret task to complete before the episode is over which rewards up to 10 hearts or bonus items. Easy Tasks can be rerolled once into a Hard Task which rewards up to 20 hearts or bonus items, but carries the penalty risk of losing 10 hearts if you fail it. If someone guesses your secret, it is no longer a secret, and you fail the secret task.
3 Lives = Green Player
2 Lives = Yellow Player
1 Life = Red Player
Red Players are given the goal of killing all the other players in the game.

I love how perfectly Etho's tasks have fit his personality so far. Its like an entire series of "You've been Etho'd!"
I mean that's the case for others too i think it's intentional game design
Obviously I don't know the details, but I'm pretty sure each player has a bank of tasks custom written for them. Maybe there's a few shared between them, but I'm not sure about that.
@@MagnorCriolThere are definitely general tasks and then tasks written specifically for each player. Grian got one to steal doors for cryin out loud. 😂
This was the task i put under grians first video, so glad to see it in use!
It does almost seem like they are targeted at specific players. Maybe they each have their own separate pool that the others came up with for them.

I was going to make a similar comment. I feel bad that he did take the term "jump scare" literally.
I feel he could have claimed the pig and creeper with Cleo. It may not have been intentional, but he certainly caused it by leading her to the pig.
He already completed the task when he scared the soul out of Grian.
That berry bush he planted…who knows when…caused Mumbo and Tango to literally jump.

Task: make up a fake task and then, "accidentally" leak your fake task to another player and have them take you to the secret keeper to hit the fail button.
Upon reaching the secret keeper hit the succeed button in front of the player you tricked.
That is sooo good!
Watching Grian's first episode, I was convinced that what you wrote was actually Scar's task and that he was actually big-braining the heck out of everyone.

Everyone freaking out about the berry bush really shows how stressed they are during these sessions lol
Etho definitely succeeded. I saw Grain's video, and he was definitely Jumpscared. He probably was the most scared among all of the other attempts. The TNT one definitely Jumpscared as well and the pufferfish one, too. Also, Mumbo got jumpscared by the Berrybush Etho planted infront of his house.
But, unfortunately the Boatdrop surprise didn't work, everyone was preoccupied with a different thought to realize Etho's sudden presence.
Cleo, BDubs, and Etho are the actual dream team. I would love to see more content of those three, like, Team Canada style

Either way, a "jumpscare" doesn't necessarily require a jump. It's a term for something sudden that surprises you as if you were scared.
edit: Also, Gem definitely did jump in game when you did the TnT thing. So with that, you fulfilled any requirement you could think of.

He got jumpscared by a WANDERING TRADER on Skynet last season. He was scared that it would somehow explode.
So he shoved said trader off of Skynet, then apologized to whoever was below: "I'm sorry I dropped a wandering trader on you, I thought it was a bomb."
I love the team dynamics this season. Etho and Cleo are hilarious together.

The literal snores from Tango matched with Ethos cuts were movie comedy quality. I rewatched that part 6 times. And how Tango nodded his head yes to Etho when he was sneaking up behind Gem… these guys all match one another so well!
I laughed so much during that episode! It wasn't even just the shenanigans, but also:
- The moment Cleo just casually rides by the conversation with Mumbo and Bdubs, just going: "mhm".
- Etho shamelessly cutting up Bdubs' story.

I think the scares as early as Grian could count. Jumpscaring someone doesn't necessitate that THEY jump, just that you suddenly cause them to be scared (usually without warning.)

I think Etho had more jump scares than anybody else this episode. From the berry bush into the sheep hole, the pufferfish to over the cliff, and overall jumpiness fueled by the compulsion to get a jump on others. the task doesn’t count himself but the scares did work!

I like how most of the tasks in the first episode were not super obvious, so it was super confusing wondering what everybody else was doing, but in this episode, everyone is doing the most obvious things in the world, but nobody questions it because they don’t want to make somebody else fail
