I've been watching for 3 years through all the ups and downs and ups again. Iam absolutely thrilled that you will soon have the home of your dreams and your forever home!
I got a little teary eyed seeing the windows installed. I've followed you for almost a yr now and have seen most all ur videos from living in suburbia to getting the land and living in the little trailer. Jamie and Jeremy, you are a testement to where there is a will there IS a way. Many more blessings of abundance and wisdom,
I had to close my eyes a few times, again; but KUDOS to the crew who have no fear of heights. I love, love, love your wide kitchen window sill. I can imagine pots of fresh herbs growing in all that light, and giving you fingertip access while cooking. Plus, greenery growing in any windowsill lifts my spirit. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home build with us. Stay safe.
Absolutely love that things r finally coming together. Can't wait to see u all move in and how the final product will be. Stay strong and safe guys. Thanks for sharing ur lives, struggles and happiness with us. Enjoy all ur videos.
As much as I am enjoying watching this build my belly has done so many flip flops because of how high you guys have to work. But I'm still going to watch. I know it's going to be many weeks but looking forward to the finish and your landscaping ideas.
Dear family, I enjoy your progress. The motivation explanations of the chosen materials are clearly and consciously chosen. Not that it would always be my choice. The basis for a choice is always budget and taste. Good luck with the progress and I look forward to the next episode. Greet Ronald from the Netherlands🇳🇱
Lol, don't forget the fresh air vent system! As plumb, square, tight fitting, waterproof, and rubberized as that thing is, it is also going to be airtight. Your guy's great-great-great grand kids are going to enjoy that house. Very nice to see the progression! Stay safe and healthy! You may need to change the channel name to Guildbrook Fortress.
PS: I would highly recommend using the screws you have for the windows on wood sheathing as well. Don't nail window fins. The reason being you can control the penetration much more with a screw and most manufacturers will tell you not to sink the fastener tightly but leave room for the vinyl or aluminum to expand and contract. This also gives you the ability to reposition a window that is out of plumb after the first couple of fasteners (it happens) easily. Finally down the road when replacement time comes for whatever reason and there are many it is easy to remove the window without tearing it and the surrounding area up. Sometimes for leak issues you may want to remove the window and replace the same unit... Having a window with nails driven home is a needless pain which I see all too often.
I have all custom window sizes in my house, it's old. I think you just found the window company I'm going to use to replace my windows. Thank you for the in depth detail on building the house. I've learned so much!
It is going to be a beautiful home. Enjoy watching the process, and the details you share. Hope the factory can reopen soon so you can get your specialty windows soon. Anxious to see the siding color, and then the added porches. Before we know it, you will be moving in! Stay safe and healthy!
It’s looking great and I get more and more excited for y’all, Jaime with every episode you post! It won’t be too long and you’ll be moving in the furniture! God bless and stay safe, we’ll see ya in the next one! 🙏👍
Oh happy day! I really worried about the windows and the timing. Had visions of your order sitting in the hole of a tanker somewhere off the coast of China for a long, long wait. Thank goodness I over worried. So pleased that you are closed in by the end of April (except for special custom gable windows - hopefully coming later in summer). Thank you neighbor Virginia window making company. Made locally. April 2020 will go down in history, but I like your kind of family history better. Get some sleep and keep on going.
You really have to watch your contractors every minute. Good thing you caught them trying to tape the bottom of the window. We had a contractor who was installing windows for us and I caught them just before they installed the window inside out. Yup they had the flange all caulked and were about to install it with the locks facing out. I asked him if he was really going to install it like that and he asked what was wrong.
That is so exciting. I'm so excited for you guys! Everything is coming along nicely. Adding that deck y'all are gonna have was brilliant. That is going to add some much room to your living space all year around. Even with the doors closed it will still make the main room feel twice as big I bet. Can't wait to see more!
Good to see the crew learning as well putting in the windows. Really like the rubber painted solution to prevent ingress very cool. The house is coming together very nicely and it's great that you're project managing whilst filming the process (which is a full time job on it's own) and doing the things you can to improve the overall quality of the build. Well done guy's you should be all so proud of the progress.
Looks really nice... Love your choice of windows/ colors.... that "beige" looks so much nicer in a rural mountain setting... earth tones all the way!!!... White... good for contemporary...
You've got some awesome carpenters. I helped design and build a custom home 37 years ago here in Alaska on 2 1/2 acres on a hillside. It's interesting to see the changes they've made in building materials. Your place is looking great.
I'm really loving watching your house take shape - it's totally fascinating to learn how it's all done, especially putting in the windows! I can't imagine how those men cope with the heights they deal with on a daily basis and, between putting on your roof, and installing the windows, they must have nerves like steel! Lol It's an amazing house, and I look forwards to seeing you all moved in when it's done :) Keep safe and well, all of you :)
So my late father did something like this back when he built his house with cmu walls. He used liquid asphalt type material. Now there are liquid flashings all over the place on the market. So many things he did before the ages of UA-cam. I wish I could show him you icf build. Definitely something he would have enjoyed
So awesome you got your windows going!! I have watched you build in stunned amazement (especially the roof = that was so very awesome to watch and to learn about a new kind of roof). Very happy for you all!! ds
Cool stuff. I was particularly excited to learn about the foam+plastic frames in the ICFs. Never seen those before. As always, thanks for making these videos.
I hold my breath watching this crew. It scares the bejeebees out of me watching climbing around. The house is looking very nice and will be a lovely home.
You are so thorough, it's great! Watching the mortar section was very relaxing. :-) So nice and level! The view is absolutely stunning, as things are coming back into bloom and filling out, it really is a marvel. What a wonderful spot you've chosen. :-)
Hi! Im a now fan from The Philippines! you guys appeared on my recommendations video. I started watching your preppers and now binge watching all your videos! Your my lifestyle peg! hehe
A word of caution: Many products are labeled "elastomeric" which has such a wide definition that it is pretty meaningless especially filtered through advertising (lying). I have used many and the acid test which few survive is seeing it after two or three years. Most will shrink and crack leaving gaps for water where they pull away from the substrate as well as opening where the material itself has cracked. Butyl is a more specific word and I have found it can be a good product. Once again test or check some which is in use. Silicone can be good if used properly but it too can pull away due to a difference in coefficient of expansion. Approach all building products with great caution. The actual performance history matters much more than claims anyone can make and warranties that they can avoid honoring. Project looks good. Take care. Doug

All the light that's gonna shine in there makes for a very healthy family. Mental, physical and spiritual.
I bet you all are so excited! Good job!

Sweet!!! No one could ever want anything more. Quality versus quantity always wins and you definitely have quality in every aspect of this build.
Glad you starting to receive your windows from the window company. Looking very nice, God Bless everyone, stay healthy.
It’s the specials that are unavailable right now
Absolutely love that things r finally coming together. Can't wait to see u all move in and how the final product will be. Stay strong and safe guys. Thanks for sharing ur lives, struggles and happiness with us. Enjoy all ur videos.
What a beautiful lookin' house! Just amazing how fast it went up and concrete walls to boot. Really terrific.
love too see when a house gets dried in. no more rain inside. nice work.
I am so happy for you and your family, your home is going to be so beautiful and the view is spectacular.
Windows look great. I’m so impressed with the crew you hired. Looking forward to seeing your next video.
You do a great job of editing the video and they are beautiful windows.
As much as I am enjoying watching this build my belly has done so many flip flops because of how high you guys have to work. But I'm still going to watch. I know it's going to be many weeks but looking forward to the finish and your landscaping ideas.

This won't even be close to air tight with all the traditional framing, do a blower door test when you are done and you'll see.
Love how the house is coming along
The view alone makes this a million dollar house!!! Wow...just wow.
Your house is going to be stunning!!! Fun to watch it come together :)

It's so silly, because it's not my home, but I get so thrilled at each step that's accomplished!
Wow, what a view out your windows!
Beautiful views through all those big windows. Looks great!
Looks great. I'm sure you're all excited at the progress.
Again, I love what you are doing, and am pleasantly amazed at how your home is progressing!
Windows! I hope you guys are loving how it's coming together as much as I am! ❤
Boy the windows look wonderful and things are coming along nice.

Sprouse windows are made in West Virginia.
I sold them for many years at several lumberyards i worked at.
Good windows and great customer service.
👍🏻
Getting it done nice windows
You'll be all settled by next fall
Awesome take care be safe
Why are there dislikes? Really!?! Some people aren’t just weird... they’re sad trolls. I’m weird. But I try and be kind.
Anyway- love it. Looks great!
You’re also not a troll. Lol.

A piece of heaven ! Complimenti ! Ciao !
Your house is coming along beautiful..
That house is looking epic! I'm curious who gets to get back on the ladder and clean the stickers off those really high windows.
I did it today. Just walked along the sill plate and pulled em off. 👍🏻
Looking real great.
So awesome you got your windows going!! I have watched you build in stunned amazement (especially the roof = that was so very awesome to watch and to learn about a new kind of roof). Very happy for you all!! ds

Just looking amazing!!! I was holding my breath when they had those windows going up lol
Wow. Look how far you guys have come. Such a great location!
I would’ve did the same thing about putting all those windows, so you have a beautiful view. Gorgeous 😍
I hold my breath watching this crew. It scares the bejeebees out of me watching climbing around. The house is looking very nice and will be a lovely home.
Wow; you've come along way - it's looking great - can't wait for the siding to go on - bring it all together.. In NYC - love the space u have.
Once the house is set up, I really think you should do a time lapse from the house!
You are so thorough, it's great! Watching the mortar section was very relaxing. :-) So nice and level! The view is absolutely stunning, as things are coming back into bloom and filling out, it really is a marvel. What a wonderful spot you've chosen. :-)

Wow, it's awesome....
Coming along nicely! I love watching the build videos. :-)

I use those lathe screws for all kinds of non-finish fastening chores because of the head.
