VersaTube DIY: Delivery and Base Rail Install

This is part 1 of the Harts' journey building their first VersaTube garage. Here we get see the building kit delivered to their home. We also get to see them installing their base rails. This is a great way to learn about the building process with VersaTube from start to finish.

is sill sealer frowned upon on that sill to concrete connection? the foam 1/8"-3/16" thick foam that goes between the foundation and wood on a normal home

Do you have to have the extra lip on your concrete slab??? Can't you just have a normal slab and bolt the frame on the edge and run the metal sheeting a 1/2" down with less trouble?

iwas wondering this too, i guess it means the slab would have to be extremly accurate for the builoding to stay square , where the little lip gives a bit more play in the flex of the sheet metal, i really dont know but ive been wondering and speculating the same thing

So nothing between the metal and the concrete as a vapor barrier? Your sill bolts that you're hammering in aren't seated in the concrete and can losen over time with shrinking and expansion.

Ya don’t use a impact driver for anchors in concrete especially that close to the edge of the slab . Great way to fracture the concrete and make the anchor useless

How are you dealing with that 1" step down that is on the outside wall, but not on the wall where the lean-to is going?

I do pole barns but it is too help with water getting in and how the metal sits
