I'm currently on my 2nd solo trip to Japan. In Niigata at the moment, which I've returned to because I love the area so much! Great video

Congrats on your first solo trip in Japan 😁
I really wanna try that sake vending machine next time I'm in Niigata. Last time I was there it was like 10am so I skipped it haha

Hahaha! 10am is no excuse! I'm sure the japanese salarymen are there at all hours of the day!

Glad you kept that interrupted intro 🤣 another great video! Loved the random street views showing everyday Niigata that I don’t see in most other Japan travel videos since they usually only show main streets in busy hours, this felt so much more natural, empty streets at night and dark bus terminals.

Thank you! Honestly japanese streets are just so aesthetic I couldn't help but stop every 5 minutes to film it!

I love that travel tip at 02:00! Always admit that you have no idea what you're doing. That absolves you of all blame.

Niigata is on my list for this year's (solo) Japan trip, too... though I mainly want to go there as a jump pad to Sado Island. Still not sure how to go about tackling Sado, though, but at least now I have some pointers on what to do in Niigata.

I really wanted to go to Sado island but it takes quite a while to get there! Next time though for sure!

@@Lyssakay Yeah, apparently the island is huge, and there's a bunch of stuff to see (gold mine, tub boating, Ibis forest...), and getting around by bus is slightly inconvenient, so a day trip looks hard to do. Asking people to go there must be kinda hard, too - just imagine: "Wanna come on an overnight trip to Sado island with me?"🤣 Well, time to see about finding a Minshuku or Ryokan...

Solo travel is a lot of fun! I'm also from the US, and I got to take a work trip last year for three weeks in Switzerland, which is highly walkable. I really loved just roaming randomly around Geneva and Bern, the two cities I got to spend some time in. My partner and I are planning a trip to Japan together in the next couple of years, but hopefully I'll get a chance to do it alone some time as well, because I know I would really enjoy it.
I'm enjoying your videos; keep up the good work!

Really enjoyed the vlog! Your personality is so pleasant and it really shows on the videos. I just found your channel after watching Seersan's videos and I hope you continue to make more videos as they are fun to watch. Plus I'm always going back to Japan every few years and I love getting tips and recommendations from vlogs and videos like yours.

Repeating myself again - you are a born UA-camr, so natural. ....you remind me a little of another UA-camr, called "Slightly Homeless" who also does Japan. He could be your brunette brother, no offence - though he is more awkward for sure....:-).....keep em coming, stay strong, Lyysa. Your channel could become HUGE.....🙂
