Great video and really like the voice-over! I agree and enjoy HND more than NRT. Checking the schedules, there are flights to Dallas and Houston (among other major US cities) from HND in case you need to fly back Stateside!
People love to go to their gates even if the flight is still 2 hours away. That means gates with no upcoming flights nearby usually have tons of empty seats. Haneda in particular tries to use the central gates as much as possible, so either side of the international terminal becomes a nice quiet place with hardly anyone there.
New subscriber here! Glad I’m not the only one who arrives super early for flights, I’m the person who shows up 3 hours before a domestic flight in the UK 😂
I flew back from Haneda to Germany yesterday... got up at 5 am Saturday in my Hotel in Asakusa, arrived at 5 am Sunday Japanese time at my destination. Went to bed after like 26 hours. The flight from Haneda to Frankfurt took over 14 freaking hours because the flight routes are basically going over the Artic and past Britain over the Baltic Sea into Germany now. And of course I couldn't sleep because he flight was basically in daytime. At least I'm caught up with recent movies now. ANA has pretty decent food, and the bland-ish rice sets are usually what I want on a plane because I don't much like the overseasoned airline meals. Plus, chopsticks are great when you're squeezed into a tiny plane seat and can barely move. Most surprising thing about Japanese Airports is that food is normally prized - with vending machines and even a 7-11 after security. Meanwhile, Frankfurt had like 5€ Colas and 10€ sandwhiches.
That's a good point about Japanese airports having reasonable prices! Honestly all restaurants and food are super reasonably priced. I've begun to take it for granted until I actually leave Japan and am reminded how crazy things have gotten.
All the airport stuff looked hectic! I feel for you with your Poland experience. Being the only asian male in my group of predominantly white friends visiting Japan, I'd always get asked for the food orders by the waiter at the restaurant and had to apologise in my thick Aussie accented attempt at broken Japanese, and defer to my fluent friend. Maybe you should wear a cap with a big 'murica flag on it next time Hahaha (actually, that might not be a bad idea. I might try it..)
😆 Thanks voice over Lyssa for narrating your trip! The safety cartoon for the second part of your trip was creepy. Also, It’s always embarrassing to say you don’t know what they’re saying when they think you’re a native.
So far I have only ever used Haneda since it is closer... but the Skyliner in Narita sounds like the way to go, might do that next time. Also; Wow, Montenegro ia gorgeous!
I've been to Japan three times and coming from the US, I've only flown into Narita. There is a way to fly to Haneda, but that involves flying American Airlines and there's no way I'm choosing that airline over ANA, JAL or Singapore Airlines. I am super curious about Haneda because along with your video, I have seen a few other youtubers make videos on Haneda and how awesome the area with the Edo design is. Hopefully I'll get to experience it at some point. Really enjoyed this video, I had. no issues with the voiceover and looking forward to the next one.
Woah! how did you get to to your destination so quick! 😂on a serious note I hope you had a great time at your best friend's wedding and they had an amazing time with lots of food and dancing 💃
I plan to visit Croatia and Montenegro next week and would love to visit Japan (Tokyo/Kyoto) in spring so this is a very informative video. All done with your Alyssa humour too ☺️
I didn't mind it being mostly voice over at all, thank you for sharing your experiences! I love your videos! ps: consider looking into how to pan the narration audio in your video editing software since it's on the left side only, it's likely very simple!
Hi Lyssa Kay, your videos are very helpful for anyone travellilng to Japan 🙂 I've been to Tokyo twice this year. Both flights were to and from Haneda Airport Terminal 3. Haneda Airport is one of the nicest and spaciest airports I know of, enough seats for everyone at the gates. Oslo Gardermoen Airport in Norway is quite good as well. The Edo style section is very nice with good restaurants, had dinner there on departure. Travelling with from Frankfurt with Lufthansa, and from Haneda with ANA was great. With ANA the check-in is electronic. The staff at the bag drop was kind and very helpful when we mixed up the tags on our baggage and the bag drop machine refused to accept our luggage. Staff lady helped us and made everything go thru smoothly. Second time I travelled with SAS from Copenhagen and with SAS from Hande on my way back home. This time I had to wait in line like you did for check-in. The lady at the counter was in a very good mood and was very cheerful. At boarding time I met the same lady at the gate. When handing over the boarding pass I said, nice to see you again. She recognized me and laughed with the most kind smile I've seen in ages, so sweet. The service level in Japan is top notch and second to none worldwide. Greetings from Norway.
For whatever reason, all the times I have flown in and out of Japan, it’s always been to and from Narita. I lived in Tokyo for 13 years but have never been to Haneda. On my next trip to Japan I will try and fly into Haneda.
Dubrovnik airport: pretty much all airports in Greece excluding Athens 😅 Unfortunately. Omg you have polish roots! Now that you mention... you do look polish! Or maybe i'm saying that because you said it. Damn it. But hey if the polish themselves thought so! 🙃 Actually loved the voice-over! And thank you for explaining the routes to Narita and Haneda! Gonna prove useful to me. ....someday. within this lifetime. PS: I haven't been to Montenegro but i've seen enough to think it's magical!!
Haneda ❤. Narita 💩. I’m happy that most flights to Europe are from Haneda. For me easy and quick to go. And recently I prefer Istanbul as hub into Europe, which got me twice already this year.
Describing a taxi as "perfect for those who hate their own money" was incredibly accurate (and hilarious)! 🤣
I enjoy your "witty/sarcastic" style of narration! Keep it up!
Nice video, wife and I really like your voice-overs, informative and funny.
Arriving 4 hours early to the airport = pro “dad” move 😂 . I think there’s a meme about dad waking up kids at 5am for a noon flight. Great video!
Haha I 100% learned it from my dad!
My left ear enjoyed this video
For me, it was very easy to get around :)
I like how funny you are in your voiceovers

MY LEFT EAR REALLY ENJOYED THIS VIDEO.

Love your narration style, btw☺

Keep em coming - I loved the casual voice-over style.

Thank you, that was very informative & fun. Also, first time seeing you with glasses & you look very pretty 😍

this was so helpful! i'm going to tokyo next month and flying into narita , really great tips, thanks
Helpful video. Especially the Narita and skyliner part. Going to Japan for the fist time and was a bit nervous about getting from Narita to Tokyo.

I know right! At least in Japan NO ONE ever confuses me with a native!

Haneda because it's actually in Tokyo and not in Chiba prefecture like Narita 😅
The commentary is Hilarious! You're improving so much lately!

i love your witty narration and "power editing"..the lines all seemed to move very fast to me :)..ganbaro!
You’ve nailed the voiceover technique. Bravo! 👏 👏 👏
BTW it’s the nose, you have a polish nose.
Awesome video Lyssa, waiting in all those lines would've drove me nuts though, i havent got the best patience on the planet 😀
the safety video is hilarious LOL
Haneda for sure ! ❤
Skyliner, eh? I used a regular train and it took a long time. Next time I will try it. Thank you.
japan is on my bucketlist.
cant you use a tourist SUICA card on the skyliner?
❤^_^

Seems like you bought three one-way airplane tickets.
Do you often travel back to USA to visit family? Plane tickets are so expensive 😢
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤wwww
If I’m arriving I have to go to floor 2? 😂
