J V not a physical weakness but a personality weakness. Because why do you need a tattoo to express yourself, shouldn’t you be able to express yourself through your personality, Confidence, self assurance instead of getting a tattoo to do that.
That's like saying everyone should wear the same clothing and should not look different. So many reasons why people get tattoos other than expressing lol

Pit bill victim group 🙏 May peace be upon him 🙏 It’s like an offshoot cult from PETA. The apathy and fear leaves many needing to look tough or maybe that is the only way they can get tough in this prison of public school, drugging of our children by pharma companies etc. Apathy about humanity explains the dog love and inability to love anything else. If they can get their rebellion worked out, it can all mean something good. However, it’s not enough to just rebel, you need understanding. While I understand and empathize with the sentiment, tattoos are not necessary for rebellion against the luciferian tyranny and the trend mongers make it all the more confusing.
Not all people love dogs. Only dog owners say that people who don't like dogs are narcicissts. I hate children, I don't like most dogs. I am a horse person.
A lot of tattoos look awesome imo, but often when I see people with outlandish tattoos it just makes me realize how HARD they’re trying to affect the way others “see” them.
I have 4 myself and am getting a chestpiece soon, I tend to agree most tattoos do look awesome, and yes there are some weird people who have outlandish designs that make no sense.
Honestly, as someone with no tattoos or desire to get any, I perceive people with tattoos as less "fluid". You are stuck with that aesthetic for the rest of your life (unless you go through the long, expensive process of laser removal.) I'd much rather keep my canvas blank and add paint, or henna, if I do want to "adorn" my skin. I also don't agree that it is truly being "non-conformist", as you are simply conforming to a made-up style of non-conformity
It’s really not too hard to understand. They are adornments. People have been adorning their bodies with artistic and creative things since the dawn of time, like jewelry. There permanency and how other people wouldn’t dare get a tattoo because of that makes it alluring to some. Otherwise it’s decoration.
I don't have any but, it's in my culture (pre European) here in Aotearoa/New Zealand. It signifies rank, status, and tribal affiliations. Tats used to be earned as a rite of passage, or were used by military, and gangs. Now, for the most part they have no meaning. Pretty pathetic that they have to get them to try and make themselves more interesting.

Three main reasons...1 Inability to express themselves as a human being (read: very poor communication skills). 2 Herd mentality or conformism. 3 Complete lack of understanding of the role of art in human evolution.
Tattoo's on skin is ugly and not cool !!!! the tattoo are pretty but not on the skin , you were blessed at birth with beautiful skin why would you want to deface it., there are other ways to express yourself with OUT defacing your skin. i think people who get tattoo's are really lacking a few things in their lives and its called RECOGNITION, A LACK OF SELF-ESTEEM, ATTENTION SEEKING and the list is long.

I don’t feel the need to go on.
None of my tattoo's are for other people but are for myself. They all have been designed by me and each have a different meaning behind them and represent an aspect of my life. Whether it is my zebra tattoo which is the symbol used to represent my disability or the butterfly in memory of my deceased best friend. But still tattoo's should never be taken likely and is something you seriously need to think about before going ahead.
You say you got the tattoos for yourself, not others.- Ironically you're the only person who can't see them as they are!! (unless you got them done mirror image)...
You want to express yourself? Get a t shirt with a message or a piece of art. Some of them can be made to order. At least when you tire of it or outgrow it, you can take it off. Self mutilation is a sign of mental instability and disturbance, no matter how you spin it.
@@joshochoa4641 nobody’s talking about clothing. Clothes are necessary to participate in the society. Tattoos are not. They can even get you segregated from some societies.

Answer - 1) Increasing number of people with short range view of time 2) Decreasing social structure - you extended family isn't a strong part of your life.
I think it is more to do with attracting attention. People who did not get enough attention when they were younger and feel they were neglected or didn't get enough attention as they wanted, decide to get tattoos. I truly don’t understand the hate against tattoos. I suppose it depends on the specific tattoos If you are judging someone’s ability to make good choices etc. but I am 24 now, and I told myself that I would wait until 25 to get tattoos. (I wanted tattoos and was extremely interested and intrigued by them since 15) I see well done tattoos as amazing art that can enhance someone’s look. I’ve always loved how they look on men and on women. It makes me feel this person is more of a free spirit, more artistic, and I just feel so drawn to having them on me as well. I’ve been saving artists and planning them for the last few years. I think you should consider style, color/black and grey, placement etc and choose things you either find beautiful or meaningful personally (not relating to partners etc that can be fleeting.)
People are insecure and hate anything against the norm. We live in a very shallow world full of sheep that feel entitled to treat you poorly because the group masses have a unwritten law that they can treat you bad because you want to be yourself and express yourself how you want. The judgments and narrow mindedness is off the charts. I think they are just insecure and envious that they don't have the courage to do the same and are so unsure of doing something so long term permanent. People love to hate though all while they themselves will go out and buy all these expensive clothes and jewelery to show off to their fake friends it's a clown show

it's simple. To be like everyone else. This wasn't a thing in the 80's and 90's. The people getting tattoos now would have been afraid to do it back then.
As a young person (20) covered in tattoos this is my perspective. I don’t get tattoos for anybody besides myself. My tattoos tell my story in my own personal way that only I know. For me tattoos serve as a reminder of what I’ve gone through and that I always need to do better

I see having tattoos alot. It's hard to find someone that isn't. My opinion is they think they need one to fit in, be trendy or they possibly have low self esteem. Alot of people also regret getting something permanent like a tattoo. Here's one way to think about this. Since people hate labels so much and yet people still go to the effort to physically and permanently label themselves? Not to mention how expensive it is. Here's an idea, instead of tattooing yourself how about you commission an artist or tattooist to create a piece of art you can put somewhere. If you get tired of it you can resell it possibly for a profit. Can't do that with a tattoo!
I have 4 tattoos currently and I'm going to get a chestpiece soon, I prefer my artist design it since I lack creativity. I mention a subject or something I'd like, he comes up with multiple sketches and keeps working until I find something I'm satisfied with. Often times drawing your own stuff has more meaning sure, but if you have a lack of drawing talent like me you're sure to end up with a blob of sorts.

@@vec1954 Yea, in that case you are correct. I just personally wouldn't want a tattoo that someone else has who got it "just because". As long as you are happy with the design and meaning behind your tattoo then I believe that's a plausible reason.
@@RealDeanWinchester No, though that is an option if you're sharing needles. What I was stating was that if you were to get a tattoo that someone else has then it kind of looses its meaning if you didn't design it yourself.
I think the whole thing has to be some kind of signaling mechanism that you are "in the know" or "of the street" or "down to earth". To me it definitely has some dark associations to "being tainted", "marked", "not pure" and also I think it signals a "loss of innocence". It also has connotations of being working class or of low culture. Also, just because a lawyer gets a tattoo doesn't mean he doesn't have an uncultured mentality or a working class background. In this case this would be a kind of nostalgic "remember where you come from" spiel. Because it's related to the working class, it's also usually more likely in left wing circles who want to signal that they are "working class".
That was a very long winded way of saying that you’re a classist individual with superficial values on an individual’s predisposition to art and their idea of how they should portray themselves. If you’re going to label lawyers, scientists, doctors, business executives etc and working class because they have tattoos then you may want to have stronger premise.
@@DTGMRunsThere's a difference between being classist, and acknowledging people belong to classes. The first thinks your class is all that you are, while the second merely realises that you belong to a class. I don't discriminate based on class, but I realize classes exist. Denying it would be foolish instead. But I do appreciate you assumption that I'm a bad person. I probably am :) I'd say the superficial ones are people who put tattoos on themselves instead of acquiring the character they advertise. There's a difference between telling people who you are, and embodying what you are. The latter group has no need of tattoos. At the same time the tricky thing about tattoos that even after you have no need of them, you will still have them. Many people continue to get new tattoos as an update of their mentality. Maybe I just never found a good enough thing ot tattoo myself for my whole life. I represent myself anyways, felt no need to make additional ways of expression on my skin.

This was pathetic. Usually the underlying items is lack of confidence more than anything else. I know a lot of folks that were war veterans or very accomplished people with tattoos but you still see the lack of confidence in those individuals. You’d be surprised how unsure people are of themselves.
I’d say it was because they don’t appreciate the beauty of their skin in its natural state. They aren’t happy with themselves in some way or want attention. Or both. Nothing uglier than a woman covered in tattoos.
I actually appriciate the untattooed parts of my body even more since I have tattoos. They made me connect with my body more due to the pain when they did it and that my attention is drawn to the tattoos. I don't think it is healthy to judge something that you haven't tried yet. And a lot of us are prone to anxiety for some reason. As long as it doesn’t offend anyone like a Nazi symbol or something, who cares…
Yeah I still don't understand why people get tattoos. It's weird because it's like, people get tattoos to express a specific part of themselves, an interest, loved ones, etc. It's almost like advertising a part of your life so if a stranger comes up to you, they can ask about your tattoo and that's an easy in for you to talk about yourself and get them to know you and build a relationship together as friends. But on your body. People wear band shirts for this same reason, it's advertising and interest so a stranger on the street who also likes that band may cone up to you to talk about it and you strike a friendship. But you take off that t-shirt, you don't wear it all the time like tattoos. It's strange to me someone would get for example a Marvel Endgame tatoo. Like they put this "talking point" on their bodies, forever. Forever garnering questions and comments about it. It becomes a part of your life, permanently. A t-shirt advertising Marvel you take off, it doesn't become a part of your life. I could go on about other tattoos designs express an aesthetic or desired to be connected to certain qualities like "edgy" or "outdoorsy" etc but this comment is already too long.
@Someguy136 I agree. I will say, the one type of tattoo I really respect though now that I think of it, are memorial ones. It's a wonderful way to keep their memory alive by not only keeping them in your thoughts so you may talk about them more with others, it can be a talking point and way of bringing them up in a way to new people instead of a less-organic more difficult way. It might not be the most healthy way to cope but I do respect those with tattoos like that.
Tattoos are giant red flags of someone who can't think 5 years in advance and have mental issues. It helps me not waste time befriending them and saves me lots of time.
At the same time, you can tattoo symbols of important events that happened to you in life .. things that make you who you are now. There's lots of ways of looking at it.

I have many tattoos. The reason why is because I aways liked them on other people in my life. My mother had tattoos. My father had tattoos. Family friends had them and I always liked them. I went with my mom to a tattoo parlor when I was a kid. I never saw them as a way to communicate, i never saw them as prison art. I just saw it as wearing earrings. Or a necklace. Its body art
I get tattoos for me and myself only. Permanent marks of a message, or a part of me and myself. Of course I think they’re pretty, I’m also an artistic person. If I get a tattoo it is because it has a signification, a story, an emotion; it’s an expression of oneself. What I do with my body is mine only and not anyone else’s business. I don’t want big tattoos, I just want small ones, dainty and delicate ones because they represent myself. I’m not a loud person I don’t like the attention I love nature and plants and flowers So that’s what they are for me But for some others it’s to express their inner, bigger self. They have a lot to express; they want to share it but not scream it. And it’s great too Any tattoo that makes you feel happy and more like yourself is good and it’s not anyone else’s opinion. If you want one, get it not because it’s a trend but because YOU want it.

Exactly, people with lame personalities often need tattoos because they’re just not that interesting.

Lot of royalty members gets and has gotten tattooed in the past. It has also been popular in high class in the late19th century.
I'd say the superficial ones are people who put tattoos on themselves instead of acquiring the character they advertise.

That's your view.
I actually appriciate the untattooed parts of my body even more since I have tattoos.
I am not the same person I was a minute ago. I dont think tattoos is the best way for me to "express who I am".
At the same time, you can tattoo symbols of important events that happened to you in life .. things that make you who you are now. There's lots of ways of looking at it.
@@paulv7744 but tbh who gives a shit. Like putting ink on your skin for the sole reason of people seeing what you went thru literally screams "look at me i need attention". Theres literal kids dying in Africa and you go ink yourself up just for attention and trying to make yourself more interesting
I frame and hang the art I like.
This is what I always say lol
Basic mitch shit. That's all it is. Look how special I am because I did what every other person did.
if u want to be different then others dont get one, because then you are a rare breed
social, tribal, behaviour? wanting to fit in? social media creating more of a hive mind a collective universal consciousness, where fashions can become huge global behaviours? That's what it seems like to me. I'm not a fan of the the trend personally, but, as an artist I do like the fact that lots of great artists can get a fulfilling career from it.
It’s butchery akin to the body medications or castration of young children by sick “doctors.” Nothing more than part of the body modification cult sweeping the world. I’ve had to see 2 females through breast implant removal. Sick of all this shit
I don't understand tattoos. I don't understand why anybody would want to draw ugly red and green pictures on themselves that will never come off. It's like putting your head in a cement mixer, why would anybody want to do it?
Because people don't think of the consequences such as their immune system is more vulnerable or getting more sunburns. They either want to be sheep like most people or don't want to be left out.
HATE TATTOS, I WILL NEVER GET IT. MY BODY ITS GREAT AS IT IS. WHY MARK IT LIKE A PRICE TAG ON A BEAUTIFUL STATUE? THEY THINK THEY ARE BEING ORIGINAL...BUT THEY ARE FOLLOWERS BECAUSE NOW DAYS ALMOST EVERYBODY HAS THEM. STAND OUT BY NOT HAVING ANY.
1) DON'T SHOUT.
2) Polychromy is a thing. Most of statues were painted
@@piotr_jurkiewicz Great perspective. But if you read well it says "I hate tattos" Not : We all hate tattos. Notbody has to agree with me.
@@lk4429 for the love of God learn to type
@@verboseessays you are one of the people that love to attack someone because they misspelled a word. NO. GOD HELP YOU.
@@lk4429 and you attack and judge because someone has tattoos you are no different
With all due respect its such a pointless thing
um I got my tattoo because I think it looks beautiful. I have pink roses on my arm and I love the art. next Im getting 3 words. dum Spiro Spero. Latin for while I breath I hope. as a reminder to myself to never give up. so yeah it's not for attention or any of the judgmental reasons yall are saying
Did you ever get the tattoo?
Are you still breathing/hoping?
The way I see tattoos, I would be disturbed af to take something on my skin that would be there literally forever. And what if after a couple of months I get bored of it and want to get it removed? I'd rather keep my skin clean.
I got 3 tats my first one I felt that same way but you get used to them and dont even realise they are there
@Jon Jensen stfu, everyone can choose what to do whit they're bodies we don't need a shrimp like you in this society to tell us what to do
Congratulations
@@deathberryblast Thanks, u too.
I’m not a loud person
I don’t like the attention
I love nature and plants and flowers
So that’s what they are for me
But for some others it’s to express their inner, bigger self. They have a lot to express; they want to share it but not scream it. And it’s great too
Any tattoo that makes you feel happy and more like yourself is good and it’s not anyone else’s opinion.
If you want one, get it not because it’s a trend but because YOU want it.
Why get tattoos "for yourself" if you can only see them mirror image or upside down?
"Why do people get those?"
Because they are dumb, irresponsible, impulsive, yet creative human beings. You can be creative with anything, though, and this does not make you any smarter.
Lmao
I believe that body belongs to God and it’s the soul that’s us. Everyone of us have to protect the body God is letting us wear till the soul leaves!
Let’s get married. You are thinking right!
thats so...just weird
You're so fucking illiterate
Too impress women, trend, low self esteem, and popular culture.
