    Hello. Excuse me.1 question. The bypass thing only work in this model? I have the delta pro, when the generator is on 100% does the same thing?

    Hi good video. What did they change with the battery, compare to the River 2, i did not understand what you said. Something about smaller battery like on powerbank or something. Thanks

      Gallium Nitrate semiconductor. Lower on-resistance: GaN has a lower on-resistance than silicon.

    As a Ecoflow fan they really dropped the ball on this one. Low on power and short on C ports. The new Anker c300 blows this one out the water. I was expect a big change with this one.

    • @CallThatGeek
      @CallThatGeek  2 місяці тому +1

      The big changes is the fact they use Gallium Nitride so it increases the run time of devices under 100W by 2 times. It is widely used in power banks, but not power stations and the R3 is the only one using this Technology. Plus you can use it as a UPS system now.

      @@CallThatGeek Gallium Nitride doesn't make it a better power bank or worth the price.

      @RedEyedITguy 2 місяці тому

      Exactly, every other company makes their unit closer to 300wh and charges the same price. Anker Solix c300, hell even the Bluetti EB3A makes more sense than this.

      Very true. This can't even compares to C300, 2 140w usb c alone makes them worth it, higher capacity, better UI for the apps, looks better. It's just heavier that's all. (also Chinese and Australian version of river 3 has 1 AC outlet i believe) so... I won't even touch this unless it's like under 120$ and with that price I had to rethink vs 190$ but the PD 3.1 bricks alone cost 90$ or more with anker quality.

    It only has a single 3-prong (grounded) outlet? I was going to buy one to power my WiFi router and cable modem in case of power outage, but both require a grounded outlet. I guess I could plug a power strip into it and then plug the cable modem and router into the strip?

    A few points I didn't mention in the video: The big changes is the fact they use Gallium Nitride so it increases the run time of devices under 100W by 2 times. 100 watts is only 100watts no matter what the circuits in your power station are made of - explain how you can increase the run time by using a different material while you still only have 100 watt output and 200 watt hour capacity.
      Gallium Nitride does not increase the run time of devices - you don't have any idea what you're talking about. It allows devices to be made smaller, more efficient and give off less heat than using traditional silicone transistor based devices.
      It absolutely has nothing to do with run time and its been in use for years, this is definitely not the first power station or power bank to use it.
      Stop making up bullshit, you're just digging yourself deeper. Instead, watch some videos and learn the basics.

    I dont know whats the use case with me camping with this needing the "UPS" feature. Shore power disruption? Van life lacking solar? I honestly have those cheap 18650 powered "UPS" for my router/modem and if I need one for a PC or something, I bet the UPS would be cheaper.

    Is River 2 has a UPS option?

    • @CallThatGeek
      @CallThatGeek  2 місяці тому

      Only the River 3 has the UPS option now in the River Series with a 20ms turnover, the Delta 3 Plus coming out soon will have a 10ms turnover UPS system like the Delta Pro 3. I preordered mine and should get it soon for testing. The other new features of the River 3 is one of the first power stations to use this technology: X-GaNPower: EcoFlow innovatively adopts the next-generation semiconductor material gallium nitride (GaN) to replace traditional silicon-based materials for transistor manufacturing. Gallium nitride offers higher energy efficiency than silicon, minimizing no-load energy loss. With GaN, RIVER 3 Series greatly extends the runtime , reduces its size and noise level

    There's plenty of better choices for less money. It has a smaller battery but costs as much or more than the older model river 2. Vtoman Jump 600x for example has 600 watts continuous and 1200 watts max with larger battery and other useful features for less money. People only buy an eco flow for the badge and the social media presence and because they haven't heard of other brands.

    Not going to lie I just bought the Anker C300 AC and this power station feels a bit more compelling the fact it can run devices higher than 300w is pretty cool and would better fit my use cases unfortunately the C300 doesn't support loads higher than 300w so its kinda a hard pill to swallow seeing this power station coming out just a day after my C300 arrives and they are about the same price as when I bought it 🫠

    • @hiepnx

      So, should you buy Anker C300 AC or Ecoflow River 3 ?

    • @zeppast
      @zeppast 2 місяці тому +1

      I wouldn't feel bad at all the Anker C300 AC has more functionality then the River 3. It has 3 3 prong AC outlets vs the River 3 's 2 AC Outlets with only one 3 prong outlet. The Anker C300 also has 4 USB ports with two PD 3.1 USB C 140W bi directional fast charging ports and one 15W USB-C port and one USB -A 12w port The River 3 only has 3 USB ports one 100W USB-C and 2 12w USB A ports. The Anker C300 also has a larger battery capacity with 288WH vs the River 3's 245WH. The Anker C300 has a an LED light strip the River 3 doesn't have a light you would need to buy the River 3 Plus. The Anker C300 has a faster UPS change over time with 10 ms vs the River 3's slower 20 ms. In regards the River 3's 600W X boost feature it doesn't actually run anything beyond 300W it will just run a 600W device at 300W at a lower voltage. This can be dangerous for sensitive equipment like computers or anything with a micro processor. You're getting more for your money with the C300 but if you only care about the X Boost feature then have at it I guess.

    Its too expensive for what it offers in capacity, if it was over 300-380wh it would make sense, like this it sounds like river 2 with extra bells and whistles, same charging speed from solar, same under 1 hour full charge, same 300w inverter.. just too expensive compared to others and i love EcoFlow i do own few of them running my 5th wheel, living in it

With GaN, RIVER 3 Series greatly extends the runtime , reduces its size and noise level, making it the top-performing in the entry-level power station market.
