Yes I understand there is more to daggerfall than all that but thats what hurt starfield as a game the most imo, if they wanted to make a game like daggerfall, then they need to have more hardcore rpg elements similar to daggerfalls and give me a reason to sink more hours into it. Anyway Now for Elder Scrolls 6 for me all I ask is that they hand craft about 60% of the map and RNG the other 40% for grinding out unimportant dungeons for loot and exploring the wilderness whenever you feel like it. Honestly looking at Skyrim and Oblivions map about those ratios were RNGd just not in real time lol. As well as giving us back options they kept out of oblivion and Skyrim (ignoring Morrowind for it's circumstances here) for the sake of making the games a bit more accessible.
The story of Daggerfall is probably the most important story in all of TES. Pretty much explains how Mannimarco becomes the Necromancer's moon and deals with the creation of Talos as a divine. Before this game there was no Talos and it was only 8 Divines. If this game's plot didn't happen there wouldn't even be a Civil war in Skyrim as Talos as a divine wouldn't exist and would have simply have just been the famous Tiber Septim just an ordinary man who just happened to be very skilled.
@@Hajo87-tz7hz Apparently all the lorebooks in Daggerfall, most of which appear in later games were all written by beta testers that were fans of the games. So pretty much regular fans like us created the lore and foundations for the series.

This game was a colossal part of my teen years (following a long love affair with Ultima Underworld in my earlier childhood), and I absolutely love that people are still modding and playing it.
Your videos are so comfy, man. You do a really great job at bringing people into the fold, as it were. I mean, I played Daggerfall when it came out, and every Bethesda rpg since, and I still feel like I'm welcomed into this new friendly comfy community whenever I watch one of your videos, lol. Good job.
I love your enthusiasm for this game. The vanilla version may feel janky and broken now, but when it came out it was absolutely mind blowing. So happy to see all this great work being done to polish up and improve one of the greatest crpg's of all time.
As someone who first played this game in 1997 and has 400+ hours into it and never beat the main story, I have no idea how you could leave the first dungeon without fully clearing it. I have re-started this game 15 or so times and every time I have to 100% the first dungeon. I will say it has never looked better than in this video and I look forward to modding it and starting another run once I find a lull in games coming out, (maybe this time I will finish the main story...lol).
you can run through the first dungeon without killing anything 🤣 if you wanna learn stuff about the game check out Grimith's channel, he goes deep with his knowledge
You can get a quest that requires you to go back to Pirate's Hold. When that happened to me I cleared it. I'm still working on beating the entire game too. I had the original back in '96 and still haven't beaten it even with multiple restarts thanks to all the new unity releases. In fact, I still remember my original main saved game getting screwed over by a glitch in the game that made it impossible to finish the main storyline. I was so bummed. I swear I'll finish this time!😊
I never completed the main quest ever because of ... one of the gamebreaking BUGS. I restarted a game over and over, I went back a save, 2 saves,, back a while back even.... The zombie that was supposed to 'deliver' you something would show up but..... No Spoilers.. and I did have the patch installed !!! /cry I eventually gave up the MQ.
Games back then also came with HUGE manuals that were NOT OPTIONAL to read. Basically a necessity and came loaded with information; sometimes even close to mini walkthroughs to help get people started. I have seen a few with full bestiaries within them. I started gaming in the late 90s as a child but I still remember the N64 manuals having loads of info but being not as necessary; good thing because we got most from second hand stores. Still I really like the idea of getting a Traveler's Guide to a video game versus a Tutorial.
There isnt much there tbh. Huge map for a somewhat quick mainquest and no side quests beyond radiant fetch/kill quests. Daggerfall doesnt hold up the way Morrowind does.
@@Tinylittledansonman True, but its a 90's game from the DOS era. I can play it like I play Doom 1. I already know its not a modern RPG with an in depth story or quests. Its almost arcadey, like playing Barony (look it up, its a cool lil rogue-like) Daggerfall is about making that early build just to be able to kill enemies and mess around with making my hero strong as quick as possible.
@@Tinylittledansonman Daggerfall is a fantastic game. The fun comes from leveling up ur character and immersing urself in the world the game puts u in. There is no need for complex side quests, simple is better.
It's awesome to see how much love Daggerfall is getting these days. I'm hoping someone makes a Wabbajack of this mammooth modlist so more casual mod enjoyers can get on board too tho.
Game looks amazing! Thank you for th is video. Also as a Daggerfall player; a tip to show how far into your level you are is to click the Level word and it should say "59%" or something to that effect :)
Daggerfall was always confusing to me, but these changes makes the game absolutely beautiful. Now you have to make a 500 hour series of this game, haha!
21:30 If I remember correctly, the flavor text for stores and buildings can reflect the quality of the goods for sale and their prices. Also, some stores will accept certain item types when selling. There are mods that allow you to run across the landscape at higher speeds. I typically toggle this on while travelling and off when trying to engage with the environment and mobs.
28:55 man that takes me back to my childhood when you explained it that way. Same here for me in Malaysia. Grew up with gaming in the late 90s and early 2000s and my parents wouldn't buy me any games unless i got top three in class or something like that. So i ended up playing the same games over and over.
Love that throne room guard. "Don't trundle off to the private quarters and don't throw spells around in there" "Why?" "Excellent, you may enter, stranger". Been eons since I battled my way through Buggerfall and it's nice to see it's still a game to be played, hopefully with fewer bugs than the old game.
I agree with the parallelism between Morrowind Graphics and Sound Overhaul and Daggerfall Unity GOG Cut. Both are very easy to install but both have always been really unpolished. Still, MGSO was crucial to me, because it's basically what sparked my passion in modding Morrowind, showing me how beautiful it can become. But if you want the best possible experience, you should learn yourself how to properly mod (which, granted, it's not easy to learn at the beginning).
I just remember kicking everything to death worked on the imp and daedra, then i realised hitting yourself with a aoe spell with spell absorption gives you more magika back than it cost
By 'original' I meant the default original experience. As in, you boot up the game and it's what you have as your first encounter. And I accidentally conflated 'click' for a keypress as well. It doesn't help that the hotkey page of the manual doesn't mention ALT and you have to read carefully to not miss the part about the 2 different look around settings. Fun fact, there are 2 versions of the Daggerfall manual. First printed when Bethesda was under Media Technology Limited then a second Zenimax version. In the second version, a new line was added to the manual. They added: "Hundreds of hours of beta testing by the Bethesda Softworks staff has determined that the best interface for Daggerfall is the View Based interface, not the cursor based interface used by Arena." - That wasn't there in the original manual, it only became a standard later on and you still had to manually switch to it, but actually telling players to switch was a later thing.
I remember the starting dungeon being so deviously difficult and unpredictable. Like when you rest there is a small random chance that a spectre or wraith will spawn and kill you upon you waking up, because you couldn't kill it with your pathetic starting stats and equipment. But I loved it because it felt like you really were in a dangerous world that you couldn't control or plough through like on a guided tour. You had to become a survivor in the truest sense of the word, and that was part of the game's charm.
It took me a while just to realize where I had to go to exit the first dungeon, but I didn't know how to climb and I didn't notice the lever by the throne. It was merely happenstance that I found out that climbing was automatic after I kept shoving my nose into walls trying to find hidden doors that may or may not even exist.
@@minbari73 Not really. It may be by today's standards, but Daggerfall was from a different time when gamers enjoyed being left alone to discover and experiment with systems in the game, and weren't put off by unexpected dangers previously unknown to them. The random spectre/wraith spawning was seen as just another danger of resting in the wild. You either had to be prepared to fight it or have an escape plan ready if you were to encounter it.
@@finegamingconnoisseur Nah dude they had manuals, and the manuals told you all of that stuff. You just had to read it... Of course you also had to get a copy that wasn't a secondhand one without the manual. Edit: I mean like the climbing stuff, though the Daggerfall manual actually has a lot of info in it besides just controls.
Wow this brings back memories. I found myself mildly annoyed that you weren't jumping as you ran to increase your jumping skill as well, because that was how I always moved in this game. That and trying to climb up every other building so I could move across the roof tops (Lycanthropy was so great for this). Such an amazing game.
Thanks for the updated video! One thing Ive noticed is that you mapped the Torch on the hotkey bar. Thats not needed. You are using Torch Indicator mod - so when u equip a torch, its sprite appears above the Compass. That mod has its own hotkey, which you can set at the mod settings. So you can for example set it to Mouse Button 5 and enable torch with clicking that mouse button at your thumb. It will save you one spot at the hotkey bar, and its just better this way.
As someone who has been playing unmodded daggerfall unity, this looks absolutely stunning. The 3d objects make a massive difference, and actual rendered landscapes instead of static 2d portraits looks incredible. The sky looks phenomenal too! I'd love to see the high rock part of this game to have aurora's.
Just started playing yesterday, already sunk 10 hours into it. story: there's basically three types of quests. 3 - roaming quests, you can just talk to any npc and ask for work and they'll tell you who has side quests available. why does no other RPG do this!? 2 - Guild Quests. and with the Expanded Quests mod there's so many of them and with quest list on you can pick which you wanna do. very easy to keep track of. 1 - Main Storylines. you get mail that three kingdoms need your help but one is on a timer, so you take that one first. and you have all the time in the world to do the rest, so it doesn't become overwhelming, just make sure not to pick up too many quests side note, i went to daggerfall immediately and got a endgame dungeon with a 150 day timelimit. that's a little stupid, but they probably expected you to visit the closest city and not just immediately go to daggerfall before getting told about it. i just reloaded a save before i accepted the quest. (for every old school game, save early save often!) i generally don't like quests with timers. but it forces you to be more picky with what quests you pick up, and keeps a clean quest log, which i like. gameplay loop: the dungeons are 3x as big as they really needed to be, if you like exploration, you can spend hours in one cave checking the map if you missed hidden doors. And that's basically it, you get quests and explore dungeons. there aren't any dialogue trees, the combat is a dice game, there isn't any emergent gameplay. It's so strange seeing what elder scrolls is like when you peel off all the other layers. and have a flat city of easily findable quests, that are easy to follow once you know how the map works. The game might be a bit too simplistic for my likes, but i'll probably finish it just to see the story. i heard it's pretty important for the world of Elder Scrolls. top tips: when making a character get the Dai-katana, it is simply the highest damage weapon in the game. get the ebony dagger, otherwise you will have to punch magic creatures to death.
Dai-Katanas are good but some enemies have natural resistances to blades (which is why the infamous privateers hold skeleton is always such a formidable boss for first time players. Almost everyone defaults to wailing at it with a sword which is the weapon with the lowest chance to hit a skeleton. They actually don't have that much health).
Julian Lefay outdid himself with daggerfall. It wasn't perfect, but it's imperfections were overshadowed by it's scope and ambition. It's not like the Bethesda games of today.
I you want to help, chill or have questions about the mods, the daggerfall unity modding community have a discord channel 😉 Thanks for the update about daggerfall unity, I might go into it again after my starbound run (frackin universe)
I remember when I first accidentally learned about climbing. I was just kinda blindly walking forward in a city while looking at something else and had apparently hit a city wall and when I looked back at the screen I was halfway up the wall. My mind was blown.
Thank you for the great video! :) Just started a vanilla playthrough and I’m thinking about modding DFU a little bit, to make it even more immersive. Just for reference though (and I‘m sure you just confused the words): The original DF was released in 96, so mid 90s and not mid 80s. ;-)
No way! This looks so good! I tried playing Daggerfall years ago after watching one of your hilarious playthroughs. Enjoyed the mechanics a lot, but after about 10 hours those 2d sprite trees really creeped me out and I switched to a more recent open world RPG. Going to give this a go again, thanks for the video!
As a Daggerfall veteran (both original in the DOS box and unity), watching bumble around is hilarious. You should also get the Diverse Weapon mod, it's awesome.
It's currently the game I'm most curious about in the future, I want it to succeed but also it's trying to be a brand new genre, which isn't an easy thing to get right.
wow...played this game for about a 100 hours back in 1997-ish. Was my second RPG after Megadrive's Sword Of Vermillion. What an upgrade! This Remaster is tempting me to return to it.
What is goog with this new version of daggerfall is that it has an option to make it looks oldschool but still with the lightning and the needed enhancement. Wich is perfect for my taste. tBecause the 2D sprites for the trees are way more pretty than the 3D models in my opinion . I can't wait to see the next mods
GOG wanted to keep it updated, but it got so complicated with mod makers and permissions it became messy and impractical also because of some miscommunications from GOG. Now it seems the modding community hates the GOG version (for good reasons) and I don't think they'd be willing to give permission to let GOG update the game. But that also means the GOG version will stay in the form it is now, which is still the easiest and fastest way.
I love thinking that guards are keenly aware of the difference between a completely exhausted, passed out citizen, and a person who’s just merely napping for fun.
Wonderful video. I played both Arena and Daggerfall when they released. Ultima Underworld too, for that matter. You can play this game for ages and still discover new stuff. It's not as if we never grew a bit bored of it but we didn't really "life" games back then. We played a couple of hours now and then and enjoyed them in smaller chunks, between playing soccer and hanging out with friends. Good, old 90s. My first successful character was a spellcasting thief type. Can't even remember whether I made it myself or used a premade template. Breaking and entering was probably the most popular time sink in this game. I've never finished the main quest. I will... someday. I've revisited this game once or twice per decade since 2000. This one will be special!
Haha love how you said you were gonna "wrap it up" and then played another 40 mins. Thanks for these modlist videos, I'm going to copy this one for sure
Incidentally, while it seems like there are a lot of 3D mods going around and the next big thing especially with all these new modders popping up, the lifespan of a typical daggerfall 3D modder is less than a month. xD Cheers, the jungles look amazing with the foliage, I bet we could try make the terrain more rough in there in WoD. -Ninelan
Yeah it's why even with the tree mods I gotta combine 2 to cover all the trees because the new one isn't finished. Also why I don't use enemy or people 3D mods because I think they're all very incomplete and it'll make things so inconsistent.
@@GamerZakh Yeah, it's a load of thankless work so no wonder most people disapear after making a few 3D models. I'd almost rather revamp all the faithful 3Ds with better animations than finish them first x) oop.
Daggerfall is the best Elder Scrolls game, even though Morrowind is my fave, Daggerfall is the superior game and with these mods it's looking incredible
I have never played Daggerfall in the early days and i'm just experiencing it at the age of 22 for the first time, still it makes me feel nostalgic even tho i shouldn't be able to feel nostalgic for a thing i have never experienced
This still has to be one of my favourite games I ever played. I've never played it with the mods but tried to go back and the old interface was terrible compared to new ones. But so much of the behind the scenes mechanics were still some of the best and most immersive games I have played to date. I wish they built more games that used most of these mechanics and improve upon them for future elder scrolls. Add more survival mechanics maybe. I remember joining guilds felt meaningful and skills felt like impactful decisions. While had such great difficulty for survival and the dungeons, even though were repetitive , felt very good for exploration. Towns were the first that felt lived in. Such a great game.
Great stuff man, I’ve only played Morrowind, Oblivion, & Skyrim. Of those 3 I mostly go with Skyrim because it feels the most modern to me. Which Elder Scrolls is your favorite Zakh?
Feeling old, remember playing the original when it was new. Having to buy more ram for my computer, to be able to go to large cities. Getting patch'es from a fried that had Internet. Still pick it up now and then.
Glad you enjoyed it! This starting stuff is where most people get stuck, so thought I'd show how to get through it again. Once you get into the game you can learn the rest as you explore, but getting wrecked by the first rat is pretty discouraging haha. Not sure what mods you have in mind but plant and tree overhauls go a long way since most of the world is just plants and trees.
@@GamerZakh yeah, i remember playing it when it came out and it was really hard :D yep might do some tree or grass mod. i'll play for a while to see if i can get into it.
The installation is pretty complicated, but the documentation and tutorial by DREAM makes it as easy as it can possibly be. I see why you said you might need a couple days to get it set up. Also, for those confused by the character creation advice on UESP, don't select "Warrior" from the options, scroll all the way to the bottom and select the option that says "custom". This tripped me up for some reason.
Love how this looks now, and I have to say when I played Daggerfall on my then new overclocked 386DX33, I died at the first rat, so I was one of the 89% (I really think 89% is closer to the truth, lol) it has come a long way in a short time with these mods, I could not get back into the game because I got used to far better POV controls that have finally been added to Daggerfall through Mods.
Glad DF finally gets some love. Also thanks for reminding me of the Daggerfall Unity, I still have it but keep forgetting to try out if they finally implemented the speech and language skills properly (they did pretty much do nothing in the original game).
Just the effort of writing an imaginary book in the world shows the work and attention to detail. Amazing. It will be interesting to see what the original devs come up with.

That flavour text when you entered the shop actually is a indication of the quality of items you will find there. and the prices, just like in real life.
My trick to kill rats was always to crouch. I always preferred that to trying to look down. What's really wild/funny though is I first played this game on a Mac! A Power Macintosh 7200 with a PC Compatibility Card in it, to be precise. That was a cool system. You could hit a key combo to switch between the Mac and a hardware PC on a PCI card. That one had a Pentium 75 on it, if I remember correctly. It was great for Daggerfall.

thank you, and I think it fits the game well as its not intrusive so you just take it as a part of a game. I noticed you noticed it in the shop as well :) The backgrounds outside have all weathers, night, day, dusk, dawn.. main cities have their unique background, like here in Daggerfall, smaller cities have different backgrounds etc. There are 600 different background. Also dungeons have different backgrounds, based on their type. So it looks different in the Tomb, or in a Harpy nest etc... @@GamerZakh

06:00 You could move the camera just like you did here, even in the 90s. There was a secondary way to turn which I rarely used to turn when clicking on a side.
You could but you had to change the look option, or hold ALT which was also weird. Mainly, anyone who missed it in the manual often were stuck on the default click to look around. Doesn't help that the ALT thing wasn't mentioned on the hockey page.
I hope that Daggerfall may one day support NPC companions. I remember keeping an escort quest going as long as I could just to have that portrait of the person I was escorting on my screen, and I'd take them on adventures until the time was running out and I had to send them where they supposed to go. Yes I understand there is more to daggerfall than all that but thats what hurt starfield as a game the most imo, if they wanted to make a game like daggerfall, then they need to have more hardcore rpg elements similar to daggerfalls and give me a reason to sink more hours into it.
Anyway
Now for Elder Scrolls 6 for me all I ask is that they hand craft about 60% of the map and RNG the other 40% for grinding out unimportant dungeons for loot and exploring the wilderness whenever you feel like it.
Thinking up this whole universe is an unbelievable feat. It even surmounts Lord of the Rings imo.
@@Hajo87-tz7hz Apparently all the lorebooks in Daggerfall, most of which appear in later games were all written by beta testers that were fans of the games. So pretty much regular fans like us created the lore and foundations for the series.
@@smudgey5000 nice info 😀👍
@smudgey5000 so you're saying Bethesda had modders doing their work even back in Daggerfall?
@@Here_is_Waldo It wasn't modders. It was just guys on a forum they gave beta copies too in order for them to do some playtesting and provide feedback.
Good job.
Thank you! That's really kind of you to say. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Didn't realize the unity release has a modding community... Time to hop back into a Daggerfall playthrough I never finish.
lots of game changing mods
There isnt much there tbh. Huge map for a somewhat quick mainquest and no side quests beyond radiant fetch/kill quests. Daggerfall doesnt hold up the way Morrowind does.
@@Tinylittledansonman True, but its a 90's game from the DOS era. I can play it like I play Doom 1. I already know its not a modern RPG with an in depth story or quests. Its almost arcadey, like playing Barony (look it up, its a cool lil rogue-like)
Daggerfall is about making that early build just to be able to kill enemies and mess around with making my hero strong as quick as possible.
@@Tinylittledansonman Daggerfall is a fantastic game. The fun comes from leveling up ur character and immersing urself in the world the game puts u in. There is no need for complex side quests, simple is better.
@@mangaas comparing an old school phantasy RPG to an arcade shoot em up video game is crazy ngl.
It's awesome to see how much love Daggerfall is getting these days. I'm hoping someone makes a Wabbajack of this mammooth modlist so more casual mod enjoyers can get on board too tho.
What no new games for 12 years does to a fanbase
Game looks amazing! Thank you for th is video. Also as a Daggerfall player; a tip to show how far into your level you are is to click the Level word and it should say "59%" or something to that effect :)
Right hand wall rule when clearing out those dungeons. Love how daggerfall was so open back in the day
Daggerfall was always confusing to me, but these changes makes the game absolutely beautiful.
Now you have to make a 500 hour series of this game, haha!
500 hour series on just walking from 1 end of the continent to the other :)
@@thewhyzer One town to another lmao
@@NerdHerdForLife Someone has walked across daggerfall from one extreme end to the other and it only takes 70 hours.
Still playing Daggerfall Unity on 2024 still loving it, as someone who played the original on DOS for many hours, this is like a dream come true.
I just remember kicking everything to death worked on the imp and daedra, then i realised hitting yourself with a aoe spell with spell absorption gives you more magika back than it cost
@5:56 In the original Daggerfall You did in fact have mouse look + minimal UI(BGS was quite ahead), but you had to enable that from the menu.
They added:
"Hundreds of hours of beta testing by the Bethesda Softworks staff has determined that the best interface for Daggerfall is the View Based interface, not the cursor based interface used by Arena." - That wasn't there in the original manual, it only became a standard later on and you still had to manually switch to it, but actually telling players to switch was a later thing.
Man this game brings back memories hard to believe its been 28 years since it came out
still got the CD and the official book! love this game so much
awesome work mate glad to see the classics been kept alive
@@BradTheAmerican The good old days when games didn't tell you what to do or where to go. Loved it.
SOunds like bad game design.
Awesome! Just started my own playthrough using all these mods + a bunch more.
This was the greatest game in existence until Xenogears hit the PS1
Thanks for the updated video! One thing Ive noticed is that you mapped the Torch on the hotkey bar. Thats not needed. You are using Torch Indicator mod - so when u equip a torch, its sprite appears above the Compass. That mod has its own hotkey, which you can set at the mod settings. So you can for example set it to Mouse Button 5 and enable torch with clicking that mouse button at your thumb. It will save you one spot at the hotkey bar, and its just better this way.
It's just preference, I like it being on 5.
oki, just saying :) @@GamerZakh
As someone who has been playing unmodded daggerfall unity, this looks absolutely stunning. The 3d objects make a massive difference, and actual rendered landscapes instead of static 2d portraits looks incredible. The sky looks phenomenal too! I'd love to see the high rock part of this game to have aurora's.
Fantastic to see this game come back to life.
i bought this game with my first computer, along with tomb raider. good times!
1 - Main Storylines. you get mail that three kingdoms need your help but one is on a timer, so you take that one first. and you have all the time in the world to do the rest, so it doesn't become overwhelming, just make sure not to pick up too many quests
side note, i went to daggerfall immediately and got a endgame dungeon with a 150 day timelimit. that's a little stupid, but they probably expected you to visit the closest city and not just immediately go to daggerfall before getting told about it. i just reloaded a save before i accepted the quest. (for every old school game, save early save often!)
i generally don't like quests with timers. but it forces you to be more picky with what quests you pick up, and keeps a clean quest log, which i like.
gameplay loop: the dungeons are 3x as big as they really needed to be, if you like exploration, you can spend hours in one cave checking the map if you missed hidden doors.
The game might be a bit too simplistic for my likes, but i'll probably finish it just to see the story. i heard it's pretty important for the world of Elder Scrolls.
top tips: when making a character
get the Dai-katana, it is simply the highest damage weapon in the game.
get the ebony dagger, otherwise you will have to punch magic creatures to death.
Great video! These mods make me want to check out this game, it looks pretty cool. Would love to see you play more of this!
Wow, great work! I remember playing this game when it first came out. It was so full of bugs but still it kept me hooked for a loooong time.
I you want to help, chill or have questions about the mods, the daggerfall unity modding community have a discord channel 😉 Thanks for the update about daggerfall unity, I might go into it again after my starbound run (frackin universe)
This actually looks like a game now :o The way you add names to the buildings is so smart!
Man, that fatigue droping gave me the chills. You have to travel safely and rest for free in the Fighters Guild for Azura's sake!
Haha it was fine, I even spend some time passing out in Daggerfall.
Just for reference though (and I‘m sure you just confused the words): The original DF was released in 96, so mid 90s and not mid 80s. ;-)
Wait I'm sure I said mid-90s, did I accidentally say 80s?
Ah I did, well for reference I know it's 1996. You can hear '90s' at 28:54, 38:04, and 47:34
@@GamerZakh Then I'm sorry, haven't had the opportunity to watch the video till the end yet. Will do definitely!🙂
@@al.go.rhythmus No it's my mistake, I did say 80s at the start.
No way! This looks so good! I tried playing Daggerfall years ago after watching one of your hilarious playthroughs. Enjoyed the mechanics a lot, but after about 10 hours those 2d sprite trees really creeped me out and I switched to a more recent open world RPG. Going to give this a go again, thanks for the video!
just found you today, love the vibe of the channel. just feels really genuine. subscribed.
That's really kind of you to say, thank you!
Oh my god!
I thought it was fairly finished when I played it a couple of years ago, but it looks amazing and I just started the video.
5:50 "in the mid eighties" slip of the tongue 😄
Yeah I say mid-90s throughout the video, but I was saying "80%... 80%... 80%" then accidentally said mid-80s. Only human.
As a Daggerfall veteran (both original in the DOS box and unity), watching bumble around is hilarious. You should also get the Diverse Weapon mod, it's awesome.
It was your videos that got me into Daggerfall. Thank you for all the great content.
I'm glad you're enjoying it!
I hope the community grows then we have more mods
man, I cant wait for the Wayward realms.. be nice to have a modern Daggerfall equivalent :)
Starfield 0.01 alpha build
I think GOG are doing the right thing. Not all of us can deal with mod compatibility, reinstalling and uninstalling mods, etc.
9:13 leveling is based
Lol good spot
I love thinking that guards are keenly aware of the difference between a completely exhausted, passed out citizen, and a person who’s just merely napping for fun.
Looks like Daggerfall is back on the menu boys!
This looks so good! Really great work modders and a thanks to you for sharing! ❤
Skeletons are resistant to bladed weapons, using a mace or relevant blunt weapon will make skeletons a lot easier.
Yeah but in all my practice runs I always kill that skeleton in 3-5 hits. Only when streaming it's that strong. That's the content creator debuff haha
This looks incredible.
Haha love how you said you were gonna "wrap it up" and then played another 40 mins. Thanks for these modlist videos, I'm going to copy this one for sure
Incidentally, while it seems like there are a lot of 3D mods going around and the next big thing especially with all these new modders popping up, the lifespan of a typical daggerfall 3D modder is less than a month. xD
Cheers, the jungles look amazing with the foliage, I bet we could try make the terrain more rough in there in WoD.

Omg! the dream game in 2024! hype overload!
I have never played Daggerfall in the early days and i'm just experiencing it at the age of 22 for the first time, still it makes me feel nostalgic even tho i shouldn't be able to feel nostalgic for a thing i have never experienced
So glad i bumped into your channel. I wanted to play Daggerfall but not default!
I have to say Morrowind is my favourite, but Skyrim has the best mechanics for the most part. It's why Skywind is such an exciting prospect.
Feeling old, remember playing the original when it was new. Having to buy more ram for my computer, to be able to go to large cities. Getting patch'es from a fried that had Internet. Still pick it up now and then.
Time to install this and likely i will begin making mods for it. Awesome walkthrough btw, made me really inspired to play :)
Looks surprisingly atmospheric with all those mods.
I remember in 1996 buying Pc Gamer magazine and playing the demo of Morrowind 3 Daggerfall. My mind was blown.
Daggerfall is becoming the modern day Ship of Theseus. . .
my first big game, hooked me into rpgs, love it!
I still have the book, almost an inch think, with all the art, info, maps etc etc etc of the game.
I'm glad I stumbled on this video. I didn't know DFU had hit 1.0 and it is absolutely something I'm going to pick back up now.
Love how this looks now, and I have to say when I played Daggerfall on my then new overclocked 386DX33, I died at the first rat, so I was one of the 89% (I really think 89% is closer to the truth, lol)
it has come a long way in a short time with these mods, I could not get back into the game because I got used to far better POV controls that have finally been added to Daggerfall through Mods.
I finished Unity Daggerfal in 2020 /covid era/ and these updates since then...insane...my shity Laptop cannot cope....
OMG the skeleton now looks terrifying so good wow I see why you said they fixed it, so good and this video is AMAZING I'm going to play it now with all this huge mod packs, crazy good, thank you.
The wayward realms looks really cool, hope it gets finished
That flavour text when you entered the shop actually is a indication of the quality of items you will find there. and the prices, just like in real life.
Would have loved this as a kid. Played Wizardry on Apple 2. This is such a huge leap. Many years later i bought my first gaming PC to play Morrowind.
Dude I was just trying to tell.my.friend.of the craziest big game ever and I couldn't for the life of me recall the name and bam couple hours later here u are with the Massive save!! Flippin Daggerfall
A useful coincidence!
1:07:18 can we appreciate the character background changes to a morning when the game time is a morning? :)) Also, its covered in snow. That took us some time to create as the amount of backgrounds increases exponentially with such a systems LOL. KoW
Hey that is a really nice touch! That's some great work.
thank you, and I think it fits the game well as its not intrusive so you just take it as a part of a game. @@GamerZakh
Wow!!! Now this takes me back, 3d trees? I had this on CD when it was a new game and I burned HOURS on this... The faste travel is identical to the one in the original game. Noe movement just poof you are there with the options you chose. I'm definitely gonna spend some time in this game this winter
I hope they enjoyed themselves.
