    My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
    Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

    At 10:41 in the video, to answer you question, it's not a breakfast pie. It's a large thick slab of "bone-in country ham" and the bone fell through, which causes the hole. Also these are usually sold separately in a package to feed an entire family.

      But they don't see the amount they eat as anything but normal. The portions, in their eyes, are exactly what they "should" be, and even when shown what a normal portion is, they see theirs as being that.
      It's a weird learned behavior, not something inherent to humans, and it has to be addressed before any weight loss can occur. Unfortunately, not even Dr. Nowzaradan got any psych docs involved (personally, I find them useless, but that's because I worked with so many in my 45 years in healthcare), so the people never got the mental debriefing they really needed.

They all have people who enable their bad habits and they all have unresolved, untreated childhood trauma.. Plus a huge lack of personal responsibility for shoving all those carbs and calories into their bodies. Most people don't see it but this is a bit more prevalent in America than people think. All of them are living off of our tax dollars eating up those medicaid benefits, so there's nothing left for the rest of the people who need it. It's sickening.

      @faithcastillo9597 Місяць тому

      Speaking from experience, I can tell you that your statement is false. I made many attempts at weight loss before I finally lost the excess weight - 100 lbs.
      It's a physical, mental, and emotional prospect that I struggled with for most of my life. The weight gain began in late childhood and has continued for most of my life. I am a compulsive overeater with impulse control problems. However, Weight Watchers and determination saved me. It took several attempts, but once I put their principles into effect the weight started coming off.
      I also have to credit my co-workers at the time, and my family, for the support they gave me.
      Let me reiterate that this is a mental, emotional and physical prospect. It is hard work to reeducate yourself, to change a lifetime of bad habits. There are good days, bad days, and days where nothing works, nothing goes right, and you simply throw in the towel. But, the next day, you begin again, because the end result, better health, a stronger , slimmer body, a healthier relationship with food, is worth the fight.
      If you haven't experienced this, then your words are meaningless, and speak to your lack of compassion, and to your ignorance.

  • @fattony4961
    @fattony4961 Рік тому +9

    I noticed the mention of a not so pleasant childhood. As if to explain away all these issues by that one sentence. Sorry, I’m not buying that without any further explanation. If you’re going to insinuate or infer that the reason for these problems are because of some type of childhood trauma, then some of that can be explained and attributed to it, but just mentioning it is insufficient enough to support that reason. And if you were in so much pain that you spent the entire night on the floor, then you should’ve called for an ambulance along time ago. He couldn’t have been in that much pain to be able to last the entire night on the floor. Let’s call it what it is you fell down and couldn’t get back up to embarrassed to ask for help and instead make up a story that you’re somehow injured. If the injury is that bad then calling ambulance should’ve been done right away. A lot of what I see with these people is nothing short of narcissistic personality disorder. That and borderline personality disorder.
