- I'm showing you two of my absolute favorite vintage go-to hairstyles today. A version of the Chignon and the Milkmaid braids. It was only my third attempt to film a tutorial, so it's not perfect but I hope it'll be helpful for you anyway. Enjoy x

It always makes me wish a bunch of 1930's gangsters would get me drunk and have their way with me.
Thats why I love them too! I can do my hair in the morning and look put together for the rest of the day!

Love it! Finally I found someone with LONG hair like mine to teach vintage hairstyles. Because on YT, they usually have short hair.

I tried the chignon for the first time yesterday for a day out and a party afterwards and it was effortless and stayed in place all day! Thank you for your video! It's good to have another updo to call apon ☺

This is the first time I have ever been able to do proper milk maid braids, thank you so so much
I can't wait that my hair grows longer! I'm in the middle of growing it out and it already is longer than it's been for ages but I can't quite do these yet easily.
Also, as I person who wears these hair styles frequently, and also has bangs, you absolutely can do these hair styles with bangs 😊 just leave them out of the twist part at the beginning, and continue with the tutorial from there!

OK with bangs that would be so great, like I'm not sure if anyone is going for this look when they say vintage, but that's Laura Ingalls Wilder right there with bangs and milkmaid braids

I appreciate this tutorial so much. I previously tried a different tutorial for a chignon but it was complicated and harder to replicate. Your chignon tutorial is a wonderful alternative hairstyle instead of a classic bun that I can do on my daughter for ballet class.
I love milkmaid braids! My favourite hairstyle, and it suits you very well I must say.
Everytime I do this hairstyle, I got lots of compliments, at work or even by strangers, it's really pretty :)

The only change I would make is crossing them accross the back of your head, makes it more interesting from behind, whilst still looking amazing. Love your work. ❤

Very nicely done and very pretty. Buns hold very easy, if the hair isn't cut. Then it has no blunt edge, but gets thinner towards the end.
