    You did great, buddy! Thank you for your time and effort in this video; EXACTLY the colour scheme inspiration I've been looking for. ❤

    Love that it’s not just us mortals that make simple mistakes! Love these kind of videos, thanks Andy

    Really crisp and clean paint job. Definitely stealing this for when I paint up my Stormcast.

    Great explanations! I appreciate your hindsight Andy. I think you make a healthy point about not feeling rushed and creating a solid base one could spend extra time from if desired. For content creators you obviously have to achieve some level of completion, but for us at home there is not the same pressure unless self imposed. In fact the segmented approch works very nicely if your only time to really paint to a level of completion is the weekend. Cheers!

    I would never be able to paint for such a long session :) 3-4 hours is my max. I really like the theme, and I love the way you did the bases.

    I enjoyed that a lot. Thanks for putting this out. The color scheme is simple, but looks great! I adore matte paints and will definitely get myself that Eclipse Grey. :)

      Seems super similar to Corvus Black if you can only get your hands on Citadel for any reason of delivery issues.

    Looks amazing! Love the mix in shiny armour and super Matt cloak … and the subtle green tinted bases

    Great video, loved hearing your thought process and seeing you attempt something more outside of your comfort zone. It's also great to see an example of something painted quickly but to a decent standard, espcially with the idea of not thinking too much about the recipes and using ones one is already happy using

    Fantastic work. This would transfer great to a whole army. Very efficient.

    I'm constantly changing my mind about what color scheme to use on my stormcasts. I had decided on a broken white armor with blue fabric, but seeing these models...now I kinda want to copy yours! Very good paintjob, specially for tabletop

    Nice work, they look great! Sometimes mistakes can become happy accidents and/or learning. My issue is remembering what I've learnt about Eg acrylics - after forty or so years of using enamels to brush and airbrush with minimal acrylics use, I've had to learn to use almost solely acrylics. A steep learning curve.
    I also keep reminding myself that I build and paint 'layout models' (railways - as an ex military modeller I try to apply similar principles but adapted to suit railways as seen in the 1960s & 1970s) as opposed to 'museum quality' models - as they're to be used within the context of a model railway (1/43rd scale) - some models I'll go to town on, but I endeavour to make my models homogeneous too, so that they all fit in with each other and the layout.
    With weathering etc, less is often more and stepping back really helps. I have done dioramas and military figures for exhibitions and competitions in the past - if on a tight deadline that can be surprisingly mentally and physically tiring and judgement as well as eyesight can fail you. Less is often more, don't over work the model - walk away. I don't put myself under that sort of pressure these days though.
    You did a great job, learned some lessons and ended up with great figures for gaming, what's not to like? 😉👍😊

    I'm loving this color scheme. It makes sense in my head cannon because they're going out on a special covert mission. I love how the bases turned out and I look forward to trying some of these approaches, if perhaps a little slower. 😅
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts and process!

    Hi Andy! They look very good. I know that you said that you just wanted to get some content finished, but do not get yourself down. Your lizard folk look great too. Your use of the purple metallic on these Stormcast inspired me. I would very much enjoy watching more videos in which you fellas explore using colored metallic paints to simulate reflections of light and surrounding environments. Thank you and the other fellas for making these videos.

    I feel like if you leaned more in to the pinky/purple, you'd have a ready to go Slaanesh scheme. These look great, and thanks for the tutorial!

    From what I can tell the scale 75 metallic intend that you use the darkest color as the base Clorox and then apply lighter shades over the top of it. It works well that way. The darks have very good coverage while the higher colors are more like glazes.

    For a speed paint an amazing base for a "second session" somewhere down the line. I imagine even an enamel or several oil washes would go a longshot on this already awesome paintjob. Imagine what another session of highlights would do with your skill. I'd be keen to see a video of "further steps" if you end up making one.
    Awesome job mate!

    I like the instant colors, they are definitely different than contract paints, but I've had really good results over zynathal primes as they are more translucent. I would love to see these used more in Warhammer painting.

    The metallics look great! 2 quick questions, did you wash the armour? (And if so,what with?) And did you varnish the models when you'd finished? 🤘🏻

    This is such a great scheme. I’ll be trying it out my models - quick question on the basing; does anyone know what the earth effect used is called?

  • @danncozey

    Love this!! I think I’m gonna use this colour scheme for my stormcast for sure!! (If you dont mind!)
    What colour did you use for the weapon hilts etc? Looks like you resisted the classoc screamer pink 😅

  • @drakpappan462
    @drakpappan462 2 роки тому

    Nice!
    You can do the gold by just cover the base “silver” metal with Agrax earthshade.. quick and with some brush control you can get the shade and highlight in one go.

  • @Dash277
    @Dash277 2 роки тому

    Awesome job. Do you not like using Guilliman Flesh to get a quick shadow on gold? I tend to use that a lot and like the look.

  • @MZ-df6cn

    What do you use when you you’re spraying the models? It looks like foam cups.
    Also - I love the color scheme. If I play Stormcast I’d strongly consider using it

  • @mohican19

  • @steveisaak4320

    Do you have a list of things to buy and from where for basing your miniatures? I live in the United States and need to learn how to base things. I cannot seem to find the AK washes you are mentioning

  • @godconvoy

    The face could have been done the opposite, as it was directly in front of the Lantern. Overexposure on it, and an exaggerated light effect could look good.

    That face's sculpt is pretty darn crap. Covering half of it in shadow was a great decision.

  • @Steve_Keen
    @Steve_Keen 2 роки тому

    Not making excuses, but the sculp of Xandire's face is just really poor.
