    Just about to order my 3rd Qasqai. My first was a diesel N connector. The one I am going to replace this year is a petrol Tekkna. Over 6 years trouble free motoring with both. 100% reliable. Great cars, wish I could stretch to Tekkna again but utility bills have killed that dream 😩😩😩

    Just bought a year old ('73 plate) N-Connecta. I'm averaging about 55mpg mixed driving. Never driven an automatic until this car and I must confess, I love it. It's like driving a big Scalextric car!I've read some cases of generator failure in a few cars... so I'm hoping for a number of years trouble free driving with my E-Power. 😉👌❤

    We have this very same colour scheme on ours, the black pan roof finishes the look off. Ours is the N-Connecta model, so no heated things or the part faux leather. On a recent 600 miles round trip of mixed roads we got 48 mpg.

    Just placed an order for the Tekna model, couldn’t quite get to the Tekna + did opt for the Dash Cam as well. I found the drive around our area perfect and smooth my back was well supported and I had no issues with it (multiple spinal injuries)

    • @mydogeatspuke

      The electrically adjustable lumbar support and the lifting thigh support make sitting in mine a DREAM. So quick and easy to adjust at red lights if I'm especially achey. I throw the heated seat on when I'm starting to get sore from sitting still too long (multiple genetic conditions) and it's honestly amazing. I wish I had the massage function too but that wasn't an option for me. Maybe on my next lease! I had heard the 19" alloys made the drive bumpy but it's mostly like floating on a cloud, especially since there are no jerky automatic gear changes. The only thing I don't like is all the flashing lights on the dash when I'm driving, like the charging animation or the random orange warning that something is near me when nothing is around. Also, the reflections at night on the door frame/window are really bright and distracting, but I don't drive at night if I can help it as my eyes aren't great so that could just be a me thing. The boot is tiny compared to my old car (Peugeot 2008, 2019 pre face lift with those gorgeous tiger claw lights sadly) though, but I can still just about fit my chair and hoist in it so could be worse.

    I’ve had mine for a few months now. Really enjoying it. For my 40 minute drive to work where I can’t get above 50mph due to traffic and speed restrictions I average between 60-65 mpg. On longer journeys travelling on motorways I’ll average about 45mpg. I’ve been impressed with it though.

      You could have had a Kia Niro EV for that price, a much superior car. I’ve owned Qashqi’s (OK diesel ones in the past) and the interior space on the Kia is just as good and the reliability is first class. I don’t worry about mpg any more, haven’t bought any fossil fuel for nearly 4 years now. I just can’t understand why people spend good money on the complexities of a fossil fuel burning machine, unless their budget simply doesn’t run to an EV which is fair enough. I live in South West France and have been back to the UK 3 times in the e-Niro, once to Germany and all over France...range anxiety is something in the minds of people who don’t have an EV...it really isn’t a problem, just needs a little planning...the range of the e-NIro is more than my ‘bladder range’...two and half hours in the seat and I need a break...450 km in summer, 350 km at worst in winter is the range of the car...And EVs are just more convenient as you ‘refuel’ them while you are doing something else..like sleeping. Glad you are enjoying your car but hope you haven’t purchased it, as the world goes electric the depreciation on anything needing petrol or diesel is going to be scary.

    not sure where the commented 40 MPG in the comments is coming from. I've had one in Tekna spec for a couple of months now and am averaging 64MPG, I changed from the Peugeot 2008 and have halved the fuel cost per month for the same milage. for me this is the best of both worlds, runs in EV, but no need to plug in.

    • @mydogeatspuke

      She literally says she got 40mpg

    • @mydogeatspuke
      @mydogeatspuke Рік тому +1

      @@mad4tar77 depends how you drive it. I did a mile down the road the other day and my system asked me if I wanted to update it to a new best of 99.9mpg because it did the whole thing in EV mode lol. Conversely, I did about 20 miles a few weeks ago and barely got 35mpg. I was driving a diesel 2008 before my Qashqai and I reckon I manage about 20 more mpg overall with the e-power engine. You can't just do one journey and base it on that, you need to fill the tank a few times and let it average out. My screen tells me I'll get about 600 miles from a full tank (55l) when I fill it up to full, I probably get closer to 500 depending on the weather. Colder is obviously worse because batteries. In fact looking at my app now, it's saying I have about 350 miles of range left and I know the tank is at least half full at the moment. But I barely got 300 from a full tank in my diesel 2008 (50l) even though it was way more fun to drive. Terrible gear box though, EAT6 is super jerky. Plus petrol is cheaper than diesel which helps.
      TLDR: You can't base a car's mileage on one or two journeys, you need to go through a few full tanks and average it out to get an accurate number.

    • @mydogeatspuke
      @mydogeatspuke Рік тому +1

      @@Randoms620 mph isn't measured by half mile journeys though lol. The average is roughly 52, based on 1000 miles of motorway and city, in Winter. But it depends how much you use the e pedal, which can increase your mpg to 60 without issue if you're just doing city driving.

    • @mydogeatspuke
      @mydogeatspuke Рік тому

      It's not really a hybrid like a Toyota though. The battery is tiny and is constantly recharged by the petrol engine. Toyota split the load between EV and ICE so the batteries are bigger. E power isn't really an EV, it's just a battery powered drive train fuelled by a petrol generator. It's not about the mileage so much as the comfort of the drive. The emissions are a bit lower too. But 55mpg is more accurate, and you can easily bump that up to 60 or beyond if you're doing a lot of city driving and making use of the one pedal regenerative braking. Everyone's experience will be different as we all have different styles and environments, and obviously a lower outdoor temperature will impact the battery life too.

      @Randoms620 Рік тому +1

      @@mydogeatspuke I think the car is more based on EV feel driving. I test drove it last Sunday and its the smoothest car I've ever driven. Good for things like my back which I've had multiple issues with. I think that's more of the sell point. Being 1 gear so no shifting etc, depending on which mode you can change up acceleration efforts etc which makes it even more smoother.

    • @mydogeatspuke
      @mydogeatspuke Рік тому +3

      @@Randoms620 yeah it's a very smooth drive, and very quick to move off if you flick it into EV mode just before the lights change. I was obviously responding to the (inaccurate) mileage for a "hybrid" though rather than how it feels to drive it. It's the most comfortable car I've driven and I love sitting in it, but that was never part of the discussion 😛

There are some places, like VW or Peugeot, who are quoting December at the earliest for their deliveries, and the latter still can't guarantee all of the spec sheet items will be sent. If it was a 1.5 petrol turbo without the hybrid additional weight it would probably average 35mpg, wasted technology just for the sake of a smoother ride. I'm at a loss to see where the advantages or benefits lie with this car? Unlike a PHEV, you can't charge it up - at a cost of around a £1 to £1.50 - then do your daily commute on battery power alone for a couple of days or so, before popping it on charge again. It can't provide the 3 to 4p per mile running costs of a full EV, along with the convenience of home charging if you have a drive or dedicated parking. You *still* have to rely on fossil fuel, and regularly need to fill it with petrol. Not for me......

    Looks like an overpriced waste of time. I had a diesel Qashqai for a while and it is nowhere near as good as my Kia e-Niro. Having driven electric now for nearly 4 years I really don’t see the point in HEVs, PHEVs and even this ‘series hybrid’ design...they all have one of those old fashioned internal combustion engines with their hundreds of moving parts needing an oil change and prone to failure...
    I mean why would you want all that complication..!? And the inconvenience of having to find one of those filling stations, pull off the road, pump that toxic, smelly liquid into the car, then go pay €100 or more for the privilege...I plug my car in at home, wake up in the morning and it’s ready to go. A 20% to 80% charge gives me a week’s worth of driving. Just had the 75,000 km service yesterday,...€71 as opposed to €150 and up for the hybrid version which of course needs oil, filter etc. It’s a shame Nissan didn’t follow up on the Leaf, they should be leading in the only market that matters now, battery electric vehicles.
