Introducing the all-new Nissan Qashqai!
Now we’ve got a big announcement to make… We think this might be the most important new car launched in 2021! Why, we hear you ask? Well in the UK, this car is SO popular! The question is, does the new version of the Qashqai have what it takes to keep up with its predecessor, as well as the competition? Well, it’s time to find out!
When it comes to design, it really mirrors a traditional crossover SUV look, and once you’re inside, you’ll find a load of new tech and more than enough room for transporting a family around.
When it comes to performance, there’s just the one engine to choose from - a 1.3-litre turbo petrol. You’ll be able to get it with either 138hp or 156hp, while the latter can also come with AWD.
But what do you think - does it really warrant the £27,000 starting price? You’ll have to join Mat and find out!

Very true even the car he yeets
Its’ astonishing how Matt gets away with abusing these cars when he’s reviewing their features
I'm surprised that gear shifter is still working after he reviewed 5 annoying things 🤣
With almost 6m subscribers, manufacturers are probably begging him to review one of their products.

Hardly causing any damage
@@eUK95 No, that’s why the gearbox fault came up, no harm done. 🙄
A big step up compared to the previous models, i like it a lot. Interior looks well built.
For a SUV built in Sunderland
Glad to see they have updated the materials in the interior , I have changed my car 4 times in the last 8 years , and every time the qashqui has been on the list to check it out, and every time has never been chosen because , no one in my family liked the interior , they always feel cheap .
Qashqai has never had a cheap interior, always had soft touch dash since the first gen. Interior still looking good after 11 years. Hyundai e.t.c are the ones with cheap hard plastic interior
@@josh3221ifyeven the current one feels very cheap, way to overpriced for the quality you get
Really like this new model, think it's a good looking evolution modern enough with out being isolating. Interior upgrades look good too, with really decent spec lists available, driver aids and saftey kit. Also it's nice to see an SUV that's actually just being wat it shud be an SUV! Family friendly with all its functions easy to use for parents etc on the go while coping with a busy car full. Instead of all the new SUV's that are trying to be everything to everyone, sports car, coupe, and family SUV all rolled in to one. Problem is they never seem to nail the over all product. Nissan seem to have done well with the brief here, maybe not perfect, but better than some others, think this will continue to be the SUV Daddy!
Are you ok, Matt? You seem a little too aggressive today... 😂
It is not a British made car that's why hahah. How dare Japanese brand make such a good car.

I think Nissan done a better job with the Qashqai than the juke. I know you only get one engine in the new Qashqai but at least you get two power outputs, so you get a choice. The new 1.3 litre engine suits the Qashqai as it reduces emissions and improves fuel economy without loosing the benefit of having a manual gearbox.
Just can’t help my self mat always makes me hurt my rips lol 😂
I wonder why did the gearbox had a failure 😂(5 minutes earlier - 8:48)
😂😂
At 12:01 as well.
Because Nissan have been cheap by using a CVT auto transmission instead of a decent crosscut auto transmission, always more noisy and more prone to sensor faults
I had an Altima 2012, and it had the worst transmission I have ever used. The transmission shit it self at only 100,000 kms, which is a shame because I really liked the rest of the car.
@@WEZ4136 looking at this, as it’s basically a computer, I’d blame the damage on the user. Not the vehicle.

First family crossover vehicle was the Matra Rancho in the 70's & I always wanted one when I was growing up.
Wow, well remembered Rob. I'd forgotten all about that!
First family SUV was the Chevrolet Suburban which has been around since the 1930s
Crossovers however might be the RAV4 which was first introduced in 1994
I enjoyed watching the Video Review. Looks much smarter now particularly the updated Interior design
The first "crossover" was the rav 4
That’d be my guess too.
1st was a Toyota Rav 4 concept was 1989
But Qashqai started the whole trend

About time for a Qashqai Update 👀
Nice looking SUV. However I am a bit confused by the warning CVT fault message. I was under impression that Nissan had dumped CVT's in favour of a DCT for the new Qashqai?
I've just seen one today in blue and it looks amazing. I was in my own 2019 Qashqai and mine looked nowhere near as good.
gutted
The 2019 qashqai is still very beautiful just different styling. I have now ordered a new qashqai tekna 1.3l 158 hp automatic with 4 x4 drive like my 1.5l diesel 2019 model. I just hope it’s as quick with new engine with mild hybrid system.
@@charm8167 Although the new model is more astetic with mild hybrid gimic is like it says mild ,. It wont be hardly any more economical or will it slow down our climate change . In fact the amount of carbon footprint to produce a new car for someone who has already got a 2 yr old model is not at all good for the planets envoirement. ps excuse spelling
It always cracks me up when Mat tosses stuff out of the trunk 😁😁😁😁
Mat didn't notice air vents at the back appeared for the first time in a Qashqai.
Hey Mat, Will there be a review of the renault arkana in the future?
Please review the Nissan Rogue/ X Trail 😊
Wonder why you haven't reviewed the Toyota Rav4 plug in hybrid yet?
Those Qashqai warning sounds sounded similar to the discord message notification :D fav feature
I own a 2019 and without a doubt the best vehicle I have ever owned.
33k kilometres now and just doing the brakes, which are outstanding.
The only complaint is the seat comfort.
Coming from an Altima with the zero G seats…..I was spoiled.
Also the suspension a little stiff in cold weather and road noise a problem.
I hope they’ve solved those problems for 2021!
Suspension is shocking. I bought my daughter a 2014 polo. Wow what a difference in a 6 year old car. My nissan has had most of it replaced after 42.000
@@tonyparkin3379 I didn't replace any parts of my suspension on my altima until after 200k miles.
33km? I have a 2019 altima with 70k miles and I haven't changed the brakes yet.
Brakes after 33k km? Where do you live and what kind of driving do you do?
I own the 2022 model year Tekna+ . it is five months old and has 5000 miles on the clock. It is without a doubt the best car I have owned. The only downside is that the 20 inch wheels, can make the ride a little choppy on particularly bad roads. However, the seats are very comfortable. I keep the steering set on sport mode, which is just about perfect and very precise. I do not find it lacking in power and acceleration. Perhaps the biggest thing is its economy. On a recent journey of 40 miles, it returned 50.1 mpg. Obviously that was with very careful, driving, but it can be done. My average mpg is around 40 to 45. I love the automated driving systems, which are great on the motorway. You can just set it and relax. The car will do all the work, providing you keep your hands on the wheel. It is particularly useful in stop/start traffic conditions, which is inevitable on British motorways.
On the country roads, you can drive spiritedly in sports mode. The MultiLink suspension works a treat, at handling twisty, bends.
Finally, it is a great car for the winter. Heated seats and steering wheel, are a real luxury, on a cold and frosty morning. Also the heated windscreen is a blessing, as you don’t need to get cold hands scraping it.
Only a few years ago you would’ve had to have paid £100,000 + for an S Class Mercedes to get these features, and that reminds me about the head up display. It is one of the largest on the market and gives you all the information straight onto the windscreen and makes it look like it’s actually on the road. Not only does it show you basic stuff, like speed and directions from the satnav, but also the song that is playing, and who is calling you. It will also show you when the safety features are working, like Lane keep assist etc.
I'm currently waiting to get a new Nissan Qashqai I took the new one out which is the one you are showing in this video except the new Nissan Qashqai the one I took out for a test drive is magnetic blue I really enjoyed it I will be so happy when I can get it
Wow the new Qashqai looks pretty good and it´s a massive improvement from the previous gen.

@@aaronrodriguez1410 did you just say this nissan is the best car in the world or?
Love Matt’s intros!
Saw one of these in town a couple of days ago, I was pretty surprised at how big it looks compared to the old one
Great video review but was hoping you would show and talk about the Head-Up Display which is apparently supposed to be really good on this new model.
It is huge compared to other hud systems actually. And very, very, bright!
i think the first crossover was the AMC Eagle. came out in 1979.
The old Qashqai was best in class, so this looks like a nice refresh. Would be nice to see how the electric version drives
Will you be doing a car review of the new hybrid nissan kicks?
This is a beautiful design. I love those sharp lines on the sides.
Imo the Simca Rancho is the first proper Family SUV
Proper Nissans, built in Japan, were pretty ok cars. I also liked how they were properly configured for RHD so none of that fuse box or handbrake on the wrong side issue that we normally get. Oh my kingdom for RHD cars to be made properly by all the big players again!
Was you hungover filming this? Hilarious 🤣
Not hungover, HANGRY 🤣

man! The color gradient of the car on the thumbnail is so different from the Video!
Is it gray? Or is is blue-ish?
It's grey, the colour grading on the thumbnail is a lot warmer
Loving the low-key aggressiveness today, Matt 😂
I love my 2015 tekna but want to buy a new 4wd hybrid as it gets a tad slippery over here in Iceland. Question for me is will the 4wd be available with the hybrid or even if it is should I go for one or a Rav4 or if I'm feeling like gambling with reliability a jeep compass plug in?
I have the 4wd in qashai 2019 1.7 diesel model. Great in 🥶 the icy or snowy weather. I have a new qashqai 1.3l 158 hp 4wd on order. Looking forward to getting new car at some point.
How is the engine insulation? Does it scream in the cabin? My Nissan Tiida (versa) 2014 is so loud when I press on the gas pedal.
Also, how is the CVT performance? Also in my Versa it sucks big time.
Great review. I really like the look of it. Seems like Nissan is really moving away from its rental car Image.
When you play that hard with that shifter that’s the fault you’ll get!
Thanks 4 this Matt, very funny review and well pointed out where qashqai dont shine what comes to refine and quality things ;) Like that silly gear selector or steel wheels hahahah, not suprising tho at all.
Hey, can you please
make a video of the Hyundai Kona Facelift ?
What's wrong with steel wheels, Matt? It's amazing!
But I can see that the buttons below the screen have uneven letter height.
Steel wheels look crap and do not suit a modern car that is over £25000. Steel wheels belong on pick ups and vans not modern cars.
Looks like a decent small SUV, feel like the engine should be bigger though, or at least have options. Needs a 250bhp option.
The pop up link at 13:30 doesn't work.. what is Mat's favorite engine and trim level?
Watched a lot of your reviews, mostly great but ... no mention of a spare wheel (or not) and no mention of type of auto box. DSG, CVT or old style epicyclic and torque converter??
Nissan watching Matt absolutely yeeting out the cargo floor: 👁️👄👁️
Wait a minute, why throw the parcel shelf? I thought it was reserved for the ones that do not fit under the false floor :(
No. He used to pretty much throw any of them, regardless.
That's what I thought too.
i lost it when he threw the parcel covers in the grass. LOL I love when he does that
Great review! With which of these 4 will you keep if you had to buy one?
1) New Nissan Qashqai
2) Mazda CX-30
3) Renault Arkana
4) Volvo XC-40
XC 40 is unmatched in these lists
Mazda CX-30 - too small for me
Renault Arkana - hard suspension
Volvo XC-40 - too expensive
I would go with Nissan Qashqai
Love how the CVT is already failing on this one. A sign of things to come for sure.
Thought we'd seen the last of those.
Nah, he literally shake the gear front and back continuously during the 5 annoying things, so it has issues 8:48
Seriously not a good look for Nissan to have those warning messages come up on a test car. Happened to me with the Hyundai Veloster and put me right off
I had a 2019 corolla with a CVT, after the car slammed its own brakes on I rejected the car but the CVT was shocking with rev hang and dimwhittedness.
@@med86win Dimwhittedness. Lmbo that word doesn't get used enough. I shall endeavour to put that right.
