Oh wow!!!! Shame I've not got a passport as not seen you guys live, and that's one thing on my bucket list lol.
CT needs you guys!❤
I have a ticked for Hamburg, November the 8.😂🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥
@@digitaldogs233 j have got passport but not money enough 🤣
Please come to Denmark ❤
I'm 58 and haven't been this excited for a band since I don't when. It's been a loooooong time since I looked forward to new songs by a band and even longer since I saw a frontman that just has that it factor that can't be explained. I really hope that fame doesn't ruin the obvious friendship they all have, or even worse, record company execs.
same here, at 42. 😊
Not since Perry Farrel of Janes Addiction. I absolutely love this band and Im as excited as you are. Phenominal.
Me too..at 58 also!!
Same. I’m in my early 50s and I get properly excited about their music. I’d almost given up hope.
Reminds me of Michael Hutchinson of INXS
My kids are massive fans of this band. Took them to the O2 to watch Maneskin in May, wasn’t expecting much but have to say they put on one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to! Phenomenal live band, singer was brilliant and the band were very tight. I’m deffo a fan now!
Absolutely love them. Best band to have come out in years. I’m a Metal head But They have everything. Love Honey, Feel, Beggin, Touch, Driver, The Loneliness… Basically everything
Their Italian music is incredible. Teatro D'ira vol 1 is one of my favourite albums of all time. Torna Casa is my 3rd favourite song of all time. It makes me tear up. You don't have to understand Italian to feel the pain agony and dread in that track. When rush came out I got really sad that they lost it but honey feels a bit more closer to the Teatro D'ira side of their discography
@@Twister-TalesI hope the next album follow up Teatro d'ira vol 1
@@stefangummesson8367it’s following up their previous album, “Rush!”
I love Maneskin. They’re probably the only new band that is doing something really interesting, in my opinion. I was a goth in the ‘80s and people find it hilarious that I love Maneskin so much, but they’re proper rock n roll. They’ve got that element I think makes a band great.
I was too young in the 80s (though obsessed with Depeche Mode and the Cure even as a child) but goth starting in the 90s and they’re my favorite newer band by far.
Every time Maneskin releases a new song, UA-cam turns into a reaction square with tons of videos judging their work as if it were a graduation exam...... I don't understand all this fury but I'm glad they always pass the exam 💪🏻😉
So true 😂
English is my first language, Italian my second. I feel fortunate to ponder this amazingly talented band's lyrics, in both languages.
That's good lyrics?!!😮🥴🤐🤷🏻
I don't even know Italian, but I love their songs they sing in Italian. Too be honest, I like their older sound, not crazy about the direction they are going in. It is a little too pop sounding for my taste. Hate the song Supermodel. FYI: I am 65
@@DebbieTDPhis Italian lyrics are truly amazing. Even his English lyrics are not as simple as they seem on the surface.
I'm old and I love this band ! I just saw them in Vancouver this week and they are phenomenal live - I see tons of concerts and seeing Damiano live is something else - Justin nailed it when he said Damiano doesn't have the hangups other front men have - he is only going to get better and he's 24. This song is on repeat for me and can't get enough of it.
I was in Vancouver too for that show. Saved for months to go with my friend (college budget haha). That was hands down the best show I've gone to so far. I think about it on a daily basis. I am so glad I went, everyone is phenomenal -- Thomas especially blew me away live.
Anch'io, 47 anni! 🙂
I’m nearer 60 than 50 and I have been into Måneskin for a while, I think the best is yet to come, hopefully they’ll still be around in 10yrs and still alive! I listen to their Italian language songs as much as English singing
im fan of Maneskin from Slovenia and they are getting better and better, they made so much masterpieces like Coraline...torna a casa.....le parole lontane.... & they are making such a crazy SHOW live so cant wait to see them..Thomas playing guitar & Damiano singing is soo inspiring so I started with guitar....checkkkk themm!!
Taking my 15 year old guitarist/composer son to their concert in November! Think old Mum is as excited as him😂😂 should go off!
At 62...ive been hooked since eurovision... I think because there's definitely a bit of all I love in rock and metal with a bit of pop thrown in... Instead of the bland mass music of today. So loved your review, and they reminded me of your early energy, captivating!!
I absolutely love Måneskin! Check out their live performances as that’s when they truly shine. And Thomas’ guitar solos are phenomenal. So electrifying!
You can find videos of Vic giving the proper pronunciation. But I don’t think they seem to care how people say it as long as they’re saying it!
I love Womaneskin 🤓💃
Yes! Their live stuff is what made me fall in love with them
Yup. I'm an 'old' Cult fan and see the similarities, for sure. Love this band when they sing in either Italian or English. Fab musicians ❤
Interesting you mentioned that because Cult vibes are the first thing I got as well. Almost like the Cult updated for the 21st century type thing.
Wow. I thought I was the only one that made this connection and in fact since I discovered Maneskin I have started relistening to the Cult as well (and feeling fkn old). Those were the days in the alternative clubs what a time!
Agreed 👍
This is ridiculously entertaining. The singer of one of my favorite songs talking about and complimenting my newest favorite song. This is just great for me.
I really loved Honey, one of their best new releases since The loneliest in my opinion. I've had it on repeat for days now!!
Agree on the mid / late 80s vibe. It "looks" old school as well because it's not in widescreen format that we've all got used to over the last 20+ years.
So excited that Maneskin is coming to Vancouver!! Damiano's falsettos is so hot I can hardly contain my self. Yes, the base is inspired - Victoria is the front person as Damiano is. When trying to buy tickets Victoria's side of the stage was sold out. All that was left was the lead guitarists side. They rock!!!
Indeed, even The Guardian quoted Victoria as having her very own cult following of very young women (especially), she's something of a bisexual icon and admittedly very charismatic.
Maneskin need time to be liked. I remember your first reaction, wasn’t so enthusiastic so surprised me in a very good way this time. I’m a fan in stand-by with Rush album but this new single woke me up again! They’re are very very talented ❤🤟👏
Rush is like Il Ballo della vita, it's them experimenting with new sounds and new ideas, some of which work better than others. Based on Honey (are you coming) and The Driver, I'm getting really excited for what's coming next.
They have that "old school " rock sound but with the lyrics of now: open, fresh, melancholic, sexy , bright and dark,
Each song I get more and more a fan of the group
🫶🏻🌸
I saw Maneskin last Sunday (03.09.)in Hannover on the Expo Plaza. They played 1 hour 50 Minutes and they were so fu.....g great...so much fun to watched and listend🤘🏻🎸🥁to them👍👍
Me too man they were great👍🏽👍🏽
same here, it was absolutely awesome! :)
I grew up in the 80's and Mäneskin is such a breath of fresh air! They remind me so much of exactly what you are saying. The attitude, melodies and riffs they showcase are phenomenal!
Seeing them at the end of the month
They are performing this on the 12th at the VMAs and they open at Madison Square Gardens on the 21st. They debuted another new track at Hanover on Sunday called the Driver.
Måneskin & Ren are by far the best new artists I’ve stumbled on in recent years
The music in this song is giving me strong Franz Ferdinand vibes. LOVE it
Maybe Take Me Out which they covered.
As a goth and punk listener (and dancer of course) since the early ‘80 I agree with your analysis. Song like these remind me of those mesmeric sounds.
From first time i saw and heared them at euro song festival i knew this band was spectaculair..Best Rock and roll Band Italy has ever had💟.Best band the world has seen for years
Seeing you at Rock City on 15th thén Måneskin in Manchester on 19th in December cant wait!
How nice to see an analysis done competently. I am happy that a professional like you appreciates our Maneskin.
See you soon at Alcatraz in Milan, I can't wait!
I love mäneskin's work a lot, personally I think that the whole teatro d'ira is their best work, especially native songs, so I would definitely recommend if somebody didn't listen. The thing about new songs, I think that they're showing their style a lot on them, and all of them are at least good songs respectefully, but subjectively, teatro d'ira's probably one of the best rock albums in the last 5 years, no cap, really like their native work on that, I feel a lot of intimacy in songs, even tho I'm not italian
Just watched the video with my wife who introduced me to them during Eurovision. Awesome band! Fantastic review. A thought that I had regarding his dancing style..reminds me of the "don't care what this looks like" that I have seen in older Midnight Oil videos. Definitely wish Maneskin all the best. Keep rocking!
Need to support young acts like maneskin and greeta van fleet to see more guitar Music on the airwaves radio
Thank U justin perfect reaction good vibration maneskin rock and roll on top 🔥
I’m 62 and could not figure out why I love this song…..but Mr Hawkins your right I love the cult and I’m a guitar player .. is that bon s Scott in the background far right yeah I’m a huge Bon fan
Amazing! I also felt this 80s gothic vibe in this song, and it’s a bit different from their usual material, but I just loved like everything else they released
Ha, I JUST watched the video before I saw this upload. It's already one of my fave songs of theirs, which is saying quite a lot.
To be honest I am a little bit sad that their title songs are not in Italian anymore because I love this language 😢 at least they still have Italian songs as b-sides.
They revived rock n roll and we love that. They are refreshing so we (young generation) now re-listen to rock thanks to them
Struts, halestorm, and maneskin have for the nearer future solidified my ticket sale when they tour my area. They are every bit as fun and exciting and solid sounding live. Vive the rockolution.
Ironically, when Maneskin were part of XFactor in 2017, they did a cover of "Kiss this" by The Struts
The official music video just came out - it's great too! I love them as well and listen to them every day. Greetings from Roseburg Oregon.
Sooo agreed..they r great
Love Mäneskin! Vic’s bass lines always manage to hook me in. Love the way that every song gives each member time to shine. They’re not competing for the spotlight, rather handing it round like a baton. You can always distinctly hear every instrument. They never make you strain to figure out what’s going on or pad the mix. Everything about them is so well defined, and not just musically 😏
Måneskin**
@@nian60 If you’re going to correct everyone in the comment section who’s misspelled M*å*neskin, then you’ll be at it all day! 😂 at least I tried! 😝😂🥰
She picks a Danelectro bass, which is not so common nowadays, and that is because she want the bass sound of the '60, with great presence in each song. Love it.
Somewhere between Sisters of Mercy and The Cult for sure 🙂 It is a rather nice sound!!
I’m very impressed. Going to have to listen to more.
Feels a bit early INXS as well! Such a good groove. Arm out the window on a fall day vibe with the tunes hitting hard.
I find that every 10 years or so a new band comes out that really stands out from the crowd for me - in 2003 it was the Darkness, in 2014 it was the Struts, and now it's Måneskin. They're a solid band and just going at full throttle 99% of the time. Also, pretty sure it's Maw-neh-skin.
For the record, "Open Fire" remains my favourite Darkness song.
then you might be interested in this video, it's the Struts and Maneskin playing together on the same stage: ua-cam.com/video/AAld2F6Mq0E/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AgnesP
@@carneade959 Awesome! I have seen it before, but love to see it again! Thank you!
Dig it. Super catchy and absolutely hear some Cult influence in there. Tasty!
I totally get the reference to The Cult. I get nods to Rain from this.
Really good song.
Love his falsetto.
Love these kids!
this will be a big big hit
It's pretty cool to see how far they've come since X Factor. The kind of music made by Gen Zs I like listening to. I also like that they still seem pretty humble and haven't let fame blow up their egos.
i found out about them because of Iggy Pop (i want to be your slave)- love this band
They are fabulous. Have yet to see them live but it is on the bucket list along with Ghost. I had a bootleg of the Manor Sessions by The Cult as well. The video was giving me a U2 Vertigo vibe. The camera work is amazing.
I love this track. I heard it and it reminded me of The Cult
I'm 58 and love Maneskin. His voice is amazing !!
Damiano David quote - “I have a malformation of the vocal cords with a hole in the middle which lets air through”.
So, like, Justin discusses the song's background, reads viewer comments, praises Damiano David's stage presence, and admires the goth rock sound in the music.
Since her win in the big *EUROVISION SONG CONTEST* I'm a fan of this amazing band .....and I like that the USA ♥ Maneskin too.
*_They grew on me, I heard the new song today before seeing this vid._*
Love them
My favourite Italian band! Hope they continue improving 🔥
It reminds me a bit of Word Up 😅 great band.
Oh wow, I had not seen the lyrics video (the one on your episode). Just the official music video. The lyrics video imagery is way more interesting! I think Damiano's voice keeps improving....Great analysis. Thanks again for calling attention to good music!
They are one of my favorites of the newer bands. Måneskin, Ren and Amyl and the Sniffers. And all of them I found out about on JHRA. Thanks Justin!
Came for the music review, stayed for the rating damianos body parts 😂
Great reaction! Love from Italy ❤❤❤❤
Young and talented band.
i first started following this channel after your first måneskin video (mammamia two years ago?) and have been loving your stuff since - but it’s so satisfying to see you this enthusiastic over one of their releases ahaha
Love how you also pick up that their sound is a mixture of The Cult, and others from the 80’s. Growing up in those formative years, I was a massive fanatic of The Cult. Dreamtime and Love were amazingly flawless along with Sonic Temple. Electric definitely was a different beast, and it is interesting how The Manor Sessions was stripped bare under the influence of Rick Rubin. Either way, both versions are superb. Seriously one of the top bands to see on my bucket list.
❤❤❤Maneskin❤❤❤
Epic stuff - Thanks for bringing this one to my attention - off to buy it!
As I heard the first bit of melody, it somehow immediately reminded me of ''open fire''. Great!
I love that band! Yes, we do need more of this!
I love them! Rock and roll lives on
First time hearing this band! Sold! Going to check them out now!✌️
This is a perfect, early 2000s, iPod Shuffle kind of sound; along with Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, The Bravery, The Sounds, , The Strokes, The Automatic, Interpol, Caesars, Bloc Party... What I like to call the NEO-"THE" era.
This is probably the fondest era for me when I started discovering music outside the radio.
I *just* heard The Bravery on the radio for the first time in a decade or more. Had forgotten about them and agreed, this is very reminiscent of that style. I called it the “neo-neo wave” lol.
Dare I say...I hear a bit of The Cult (Billy Duffy) in that guitar riff? I like it! Cheers Justin☮🖤🎶🎵
5:05 it sounds like the Killers, or OK Go to me, I heard a few swaths that sounded like Smashing Pumpkins too. It gives me a lot of late 90's to y2k music themes.
Love these guys. Carrying new rock
I like it!
Can't resist a good 4/4 beat with driving guitar and full vocal...
Maneskin is awesome
From x.factor to outstanding... love the bass line
Reminds me of the Killers, I like it.
The killers or the muse
Post punk gothoid and they are great at what they do.
Rock is still very much alive in Italy! Love Mäneskin ❤
How? They don’t write their songs anymore. They left their songwriting in Italy
@@Tityretupatulae 🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡
Thanks for not editing and retaking the shot where you flew past the fret while playing your guitar. It shows people that even pro musicians slip up - nobody is perfect. It’s no big deal if you just keep on playing and laugh off the mistake. Makes live performance charming and fun!
yeah, it's like when in Hannover Damiano's voice choked up during an a capella song, and he just said Fuck, before correcting himself. After which he then made a joke with the audience, about how people only forgave him for it if he was choked up by emotion, and then asking them to act on tiktok as if they saw tears in his eyes;-)
I think that's why I love these guys so much they do music that reminds of the days I was younger and music was better. I love that you love them, a bunch of millennial old farts slated their last album.
Great band. I didn’t see them on the Eurovision. I heard them afterwards and was very surprised at how great a band they are. And how much better music then pretty much every other Eurovision contestant. They are a proper band.
Also, I’m from Norway, and Måneskinn means Moonshine in Norwegian. I always thought that was cool
p.s
I don’t know where they got the name from, But if it’s the Norwegian word, it’s pronounced mohneshin
Lol hard to explain
Victoria, the bass player, is half danish
So it's actually the Danish version with the same meaning.
Pronounced something like "money-chin", is my half informed guess as a Swede.
@@larspetrus3917 nahnah [ˈmɔːnəˌsgenˀ]
@@larspetrus3917 It's Danish so it's not pronounced like we do Swedish. "Måne" is the same as in Swedish but "skin" is like skin is pronounced in English.
Anything inspired by The Cult is welcome in 2023! Love to Electric to Sonic Temple, didn't get much better for a three album stretch! Cheers! 🎊🎉
"Moneskin" is the original Danish pronounce ( Victoria chose the name ), but in Italy they often call them Maneskin, so they use both. I preferred Teatro d'Ira album, but I aways love them.
P.S.: I love your reactions!
Damiano’s voice I could listen to in any genre. It’s just my cup of tea! I love their outlook on music, genre and sexuality. I think we’d be friends - or I’d want to be 😅
