Maneskin live. No, seriously, any of the live performances ("Coraline" from Sanremo is fantastic, or anything they did for SiriusXM) because it's unbelievable how textured Damiano's voice is out of studio.

Damiano from the beginning was a powerhouse and with time his voice and technique got so refined and unique. He has such a unique timbre, raspy but so clear and powerful and recognizable. Also the way he emotes is so believeble and his versatily. Torna a casa the unplugged version is a masterpiece and highly recommend

I discovered this band about 2 years ago. F’n amazing and fantastic live. Saw them in Nashville in October and Miami last year. Damiano the lead singer is a fantastic frontman. The Italian songs are even more beautiful vocally. In Nashville he covered Jolene by Dolly Parton and the rap Megahit Humble by Kendrick Lamar, in addition to 20 or more originals. The rest of the band is great for their young age. They are clearly Rock and Pop Rock, and usually avoid overproduction and auto tune. Their previous album Teatro d’ Ira is a masterpiece of Rock although mostly in Italian.

  • @dmitry6786
    @dmitry6786 Рік тому +41

They are as much rock'n'roll as there is now. What appeals to me is that they tell stories in their songs, not just emotional yet senseless bs that's been in the trend lately.

  • @ony.official

Loved the analysis! They are an Italian band and got very popular internationally after winning Eurovision in 2021 (they've already been well known in their home country before). I'd recommend checking out Trastevere and Gossip from their newest record and the older Italian songs like Zitti e Buoni (their song for Eurovision), Coraline, and Torna a Casa.

Thank you for this analysis, you have found some interesting hints to me about Damiano, which I often find similar to Matthew Bellamy for his ways of expressing most of his lines. Regrettable that among many good rock bands we have in Italy only Maneskin could make it to the international scene though, and even more regrettable that this phenomenon couldn't at least open the way for other rock bands to get attention.

ah ah ! amazing analysis! damiano has a "hole" between his vocal cords i think that's what he explained and that's why he has a graspy voice without even trying , his voice is my fav male voice he can rap he can do raggae , pop, soul , anything .. soft and loud! that's cool when people never heard of maneskin because you were like a virgin without prejudices ah ah! lots of people decided to hate them , it's a trend i guess .. if someone is interested to hear is voice live in an acoustic session this video is for you ! ua-cam.com/video/y3T56egqXLw/v-deo.htmlsi=mSFFX2veS-lx4Jer here he was 19 years old i think

  • @silmarileldanna

Hi Chris, I like your analysis of Damiano's performance. I'm usually here because of Ren but I'm a Maneskin fan since they came second in Italy's X factor (at that time they were nearly all underage) and then started their international career after winning the Eurovision contest
Even if I like their older songs better (check Teatro d'Ira album) Damiano's use of his voice got better and better.
They started their career busking in Rome's streets and they have a lot of live stuff you can check out
I personally love the 1Live Wdr sessions (for your love, La paura del buio, Lividi sui gomiti...) even if at that time Damiano was abusing his voice a lil bit.
Anyway good job (as usual). I look foward to your next analysis and reaction!

Lijepo.
Usput Damiano i Maneskin odlični.Uživam u tom žanru.Odlična analiza, još više odlična iskrena reakcija.

I thinks its great to hear you analyse his voice in such a fascinatet manner. Interestingly enough he actually has a malformation in his vocal chords wich gives him a nice raspy sound by nature. His performances are priceless tho and i love their new album.
And I would love to sea you react to Jonathan Young once. Completly different genre but this guy has a fantastic and playfull way pf placing his voice.
Wish you the best and keep going!!!

Damiano David!
"Il dono della vita" lyric video with subtleties.
Soundgarden 🔥
    PEACE ❤️☮️❕️

At between 6:02 and 6:03 into the video directly after singing "Valentine", when you sing "uhhh" is that the growl technique you displayed on your recent 4 types of distortion video? The nature of the distortion changes on "uhhh." If it's not growl, what is it?
