- What a collaboration! Today, I'm reacting to Måneskin's new song "Gossip" feat. Rage Against The Machine's guitar legend Tom Morello. Tom Morello is an incredible guitarist and Maneskin seem to be taking over the world right now. Can this collaboration live up to expectations? What do you think of it? Is it as good as you'd hope? Is it missing something? Tell me.

I saw them live a few months ago in Phoenix! They absolutely tore up the stage. To add to that, I met them afterwards and they were all so incredibly kind. I'm really into this song!
So they're really friendly and laid-back as they come across in interviews?
@@danielaf1487 Absolutely! They were all really chill and so great. Thomas and Vic both took a lot of time with me which was very kind of them. Now I've got the coolest signed pickguard on my wall!
Whenever there's a live concert of Maneskin to watch even here on YT, it's worth the time. They always burn down the house. It's probably no fun getting on stage after them.
They certainly have well constructed music. Cool to know they are badass live also.
INXS, Rush, The Allman Brothers, Story Cats where all badass live acts.
@Andrea Raspitzu forse il confuso sei te🤔
To all complaining it's not "proper" rock but pop rock or even just pop (my fellow Italians are especially guilty of this and all too happy, in their unconscious self-loathing, to bash an Italian band who made it big)... no need to be snobs about this. I'm not massively into pop, but if it's well crafted, it has its place in the world. Remember Roxette? People used to sneer about this Swedish duo, but in retrospect their songs have become classics. Damiano David of Maneskin unabashedly admits he loves pop. The others listen to other stuff - classic and psychedelic rock, funk and even jazz (Ethan, the drummer). But Damiano loves him a Miley Cyrus tune. Anything wrong with that? So long as the music is well crafted, there's no need to be purists about it. Fellow Italians, I'm looking at you! Capito? My major complaint though is that they're no longer releasing singles in Italian.
Italian in Ireland here for the last 24 years. Haven't been wanting to listen to Italian music in a long while. Maneskin made me want to again! Love their Italian songs especially. And love supporting them.
The same for me. I’ll be waiting for another song in Italian. In the meanwhile I’m happy for what they’re doing and improving. Appreciate Justin Hawkins’s comments. A lot.
They actually good for making sorta derivative mainstream pop rock mesh up and soon, in their very lucky day, they met Sony, the world biggest and more promoting and
influential corporation in music industry
Simple and revealing fact, but instead people and kids want to idealize and idolize : Justin, its my opinion, is kind n nice and humorous, he knows how world of music works so he goes on saying
" they re good enough " after all. ...
@@elisaacri8774 found the self-loathing italiota
I just listened to because I had never heard of the song until I watched your video. Surprisingly, I love the song with or without Tom. It's actually a good song. Thanks for telling me about it.
We're all different....which is great.
For me it's just...meh, with or without mr Morello
First discovered them while watching eurovision a few years back, and I've been liking them more and more since, loving the new album!
Måneskin and nudity is like peanut butter and jelly, you can't have one without the other
they use sex to sell their garbage music
How fast you could do their cover on the guitar actually hyped me up 😂 you know your instrument, love to see passionate people ^-^ this song is one of my favorites of theirs, I like the message behind
Love your analysis and real love of rock music! I think this Maneskin song is really good and lots of fun!
I absolutely love Måneskin, since the moment I saw them win Eurovision. I have proper fan girl vibes and I haven’t experienced that feeling since I was a teenager! 😅 I went to their concert in Rome last year and I can’t to see him again this year.
Måneskin is one the best new rock bands I’ve heard in a very long time! I’ve even had the pleasure of seeing them live & they can back up their chops without any problem. What you hear on the record is definitely what you get when they perform live. Nice to see Tom Morello out there working with some new blood! ✌🏼💜
He wanted to work with the band because, He's always loved rock n' roll and is also proud of his Italian heritage when he discovered that the hottest new rock band on the planet was from Italy he was like, ‘Where do I sign up?’ Måneskin are an unapologetically loud, unapologetically sexy, and unapologetically rocking shot in the arm to modern music.”
I love Måneskin! Their music really is getting better and better. I just wish they’d release a single in Italian. It’s like they’re afraid that there will be less appeal for songs in their native tongue but some of their best tracks from Teatro D’Ira were in Italian. I think music transcends language anyway, but so many Måneskin fans are begging for an Italian track that I can’t help thinking it’d be just as successful as the English songs. 🥰
There are 3 new Italian songs in the album!
They issued the single in Italian, 'La Fine' a few weeks ago. You must have missed it, but it's on the album.
@@moonshine9836 well, out of 17 songs, it's pretty lame isn't it? But hey, that's what they're into at the moment, let's wait for the following album...
@@Sarahlaguiri 😳 I did miss it 😅 but I’ll get the album as soon as I can! I’ll see if I can stream it somewhere in the meantime. Thanks for letting me know! 🙏🏻🥰💖
@@NinStardust it's up on spotify already :-), and if you want to see a live version of it, just look for 'la fine Qube'
I'm so happy I had the privilege of seeing them live. Great new release for them.Excellent collab video! Fun!!
I love Tom when he collaborated with Bootsy Collins, some pretty great sounds coming out of that, especially live. Maneskin is pretty good, fun and lively, can never go wrong with that!
Boots Collins, I love that guy!
Bootsy I mean!
Ghost of Tom joad colab with Bruce Springsteen was also amazing
The first solo is by Thomas Raggi. Great deliver and great collab. The song is goofy, funny and fierce, like the video.
No it's not
Tom Morello and Måneskin ride again! U love them both.
Amazing video! Great commentary.
Måneskin is honestly one of the best live bands I've seen, and I'm not just saying that. Saw them last year in Lollapalooza and their energy was crazy. Definitely one of best performances that weekend, and one of the best I've seen.
Rammstein are great live. But that's kinda their thing. They need to be a freakshow. They wouldn't make it wiithout the visuals. The best band I've ever seen live was Nine Inch Nails. The energy level at their shows is always really high! I was amazed every time, the guy started the band 20 years or 30 years earlier, and he still rocks out and even gets emotional on stage. Foo Fighters are another great live band. We'll see what they do now with a new drummer...

Very Arctic Monkeyesque. This song anyway I haven't heard them before. This gives me faith in rock🤘
I've just left a comment saying the exact same thing.
One of Victoria’s (bass player) influences
When I first listened to this song I was like "what does it remind of?" and couldn't really place it until I thought of Teddy Picker. So cool!
Have a listen to more songs, whydontya
I like the vocal. Really strong. A great fun rock track and with Mr Morello on solo guitar, what's not to go CRAZY over? Nice one Justin. 🎶🌟👍
Great song! I've come to really like Maneskin and it's pretty much all your fault, Justin. I think it's an excellent collab because I love Tom Morello, and the only thing I'd change is I'd have one of my flunkies throw that Digitech wah off the nearest tall building. I hope to see Maneskin next time they come thru Chicago.
I have never touched an instrument before, this has been one of the most entertaining videos about music ive ever seen. Nice.
I've found out about your channel only recently but I have been looooving your video! Instructive and entretaining!!
I love Maneskin so much!! Really amazing to watch what this young band is bringing to the table!!
Oh you’ll have so much fun binging the content! You never know what you’re going to get! I look forward to his videos every day and really a nice community of people here too!
I love Maneskin. I find them very refreshing in a world of pop pap. Plus I love bands with female bass players
@IlFedeRamingoDelNord Hate them all you like. Maybe your taste died with your inner child.
Try The Warning then. Excellent female bass player in an excellent all female trio.
@IlFedeRamingoDelNord In Italy they have 93 platinum records, 22 gold (Fimi data) and for the 2023 concerts they sold 480,000 tickets
Ps = I'm Italian
@@wolfgangwalk337 I already like The Warning, but thanks for the suggestion 👍
@IlFedeRamingoDelNord why do you get so upset about music nobody is forcing you to listen to?
I am so happy I've reconnected with Justin Hawkins through this channel just now. I was a huge Darkness fan as a teen and saw them in concert in Pittsburgh. This man is overflowing with talent. 👏 this is awesome
Damiano is a vocal beast...he has such a strong, raspy but with a very clean tone...probably because he is not faking the raspiness, he has a vocal chords malformation
and not only "vocal" beast
No he isn’t
his voice sounds like a kazoo through a distortion pedal
He's Italian from Rome, he's probably been smoking like a pack of cigarettes a day since he was 14
He really does have a vocal chords malformation! His voice has always been like this. Of course the cigarettes might interfere in the future, but he explained the malformation before! The raspiness is natural.
Song sounds good! Will have to check this out!
React to their album
You start my day with smiles and music 😎
Måneskin are just top-notch entertainment.... and, while they have done the X-factor thing and Eurovision, jeez, they can play and, from all that you can see from the outside, they put the work in.... They also seem to be getting plenty of recognition/respect from their more experienced peers.... 🙂
Justin, in Italy we love you!! Please make some other videos about Måneskin ❤️❤️
I've already done 3.
@@JustinHawkinsRidesAgain OMG I’m going to check them right now! ❤️

Justin Fucking Hawkins Rides Againnn 🕺🏽🎶🎶🎶
I'd like if they still had some italian in their choons. Maybe a mix of italian and english, but it was great hearing the rapidfire vocals coming at ya. But hey, that song was a good bit of fun!
I aint get ya ... Of course they speak in there Roman slang when are together they grew up in Rome not else where
Jeff Beck tried to get his guitar to sound like a synth, Jan Hammer tried to get his synth to sound like a guitar & Morello's aim, seems to be, for his guitar to sound like an eight bit game soundtrack.
Happy to see my fellow Illinoisan collaborating with Maneskin. This upcoming album will be fire. I have not heard a "bad" song from them. It is all killer, no filler. Can't wait to see them live.
Loved your acoustic playing of that riff, sounded great
in every interview and performance you can see that tom really love hang out with them, probably he feels a kid again 😂

I don't know nothing about major 3rd and stuff, but thanks for showing the AC/DC-way. You can explain stuff so that I can understand it. Just had a lot of fun with it. Love you🤘

Thanks for this video, well done. I dont like Rage, I loved Audioslave pretty much and now i love Maneskin. I liked this song and the collaboration: super cool.
Listen “Teatro d’ira” Maneskin album trust me even the Italian songs are pretty great😉
Hi Justin. Best of luck on your arena tour. First time missing a tour in UK/ Ireland in close to a decade so gutted. Best wishes and hope you have a blast with BSC
Nice one! I liked it! Thanks Mr 🦅kins!
Im a big Rock , Blues and metal fan . I like Maneskin as they are fresh and exciting . They all play well and bags of energy . The fact guys like Morello are fans says it all .
They have their whole new album out already.
Just commented on your other maneskin video as well, but imo their music videos are not the best showcase of their talents. This is coming from a HUGE maneskin fan. Their live stuff is where they truly shine. I recommend anyone just getting into them to skip the music videos and watch live stuff first
So many good lines in this video 🤣 the delivery was perfect
Wauh he looks good in a suit doesn't he? NOICE

Pretty neat
I misplaced my Whammy pedal for a couple of years due to several moves. I found it a couple of months ago and it was like being reunited with a lost child. It's always now within eyeshot.
Haha… Justin, bustin, da rhymes ✌️❤️🤘
"You know Me I'm' always busting rhymes" brilliant 😁
In regards of Tom Morello's Whammy facts: he uses one of the old version of the pedal (the modern reissues, according to some musicians, resembled the original sound but not quite entirely) and just removes some rubber under the end of the pedal, so he can reach more precisely the correct pitch. In most of his song the pedal is set to +2 octaves. And yes, is probably the most influencial guitarist of the 90s and he did so much with just a bunch of pedals (whawha, whammy, analog delay and a big ol Mashall).
Morrello just redid the "Like a Stone" solo
nice jacket Hawkins. as far as that Maneskin tune goes, i like that longhorn bass.
Tom Morello has played the same lick on every song he has ever played on.
Yup he's a differently top 10 guitarist, not forgetting him in Audioslave with the legend Chris Cornel rip
Your consideration for the girls parents got a large chuckle out of me 😂
Very excited for their new album coming in a couple weeks!

Destrage are a fantastic Italian metal band. Has anyone heard of them?
Really love your explanation !
they are so funny, and the music is always catchy (and deep in ballads), love them
The charm of Maneskin is that they are imperfect. A visible number of people worldwide embrace this because much of the music industry and its 'superstars' have become manipulative and strategically perfect to the core. For many people, it is like being in this type of manipulative and calculative environment all day, and here they meet simple people who are less of that but are more vulnerable and human. The guys who are in the band Maneskin have a sense of charm, by nature in their own environments when nobody sees or knows them. As long as they don't become manipulative, strategically aiming at domination with every word and move like much of the 'entertainment industry' and their 'superstars', and as long as that charme has a tone in their music still, people will embrace it and go and listen. -
That was a fun one! 🤟🌹🌸❤☺️!!!
Maneskin is one of the best bands in the world currently.
7:47 That would be called a MOTIF.
Lovely vid!
When most of us get a new pedal we turn everything up to 10 and make weird noises for 15 minutes - then go "okay right, what actual usable sound can I get out of this..." - Tom doesn't - he just records the weird noises!
The vocalist is great, and Morello adds such cool guitar. It's simple reasonably catchy sleazy rock. Not challenging or extraordinary but easy on the ears, if you forgive the lyrics, I guess
It’s ok if you don’t understand the meaning of the song. not everyone is able to.
Maneskin are seriously bad ass. Only metal elitists would hate a band that tries to bring real instruments back in the mainstream.
This! Thank you!
I love Maneskin! Great rock band!
Damiano has a malformation in his vocal chords that make the raspiness easier for him.
ALL 👍👍thxs for riding again Justin

8:05 You crack me up, Justin. I’m a Yorkshireman, but tha Lancashire impression is alreet, sither.😂
First thing I thought of was 7 Nation Army also.
So let's talk about Rollling Stones's top 200 Singers of All Time.
How do you leave Steve Marriot of Humble Pie of that list?
It would be cool if you and Rick did a remake of that list, or at least redo the top 50.
Yes, having Tom Morello ranked at 40 seems a little silly.
Maybe do a redo of that list also.
The had Joan Jett placed, but no Nancy Wilson.
Nancy and Ann wrote some incredible pieces of music, and Nancy can play.
Don't know this band. Thanks for covering them.
Will check them out.
"Crazy Horses" , by the Osmonds predated the Wammy pedal , and is the finest "Mormon-metal" song... ever ! ( Great tune!)
Just going to put this out there: Måneskin are the lovechild of The Darkness and The Rasmus. I might even start calling them "The Måneskin" just to wind people up.
Also, I just ripped my underwear.
And Tokio Hotel ;)
You are ICONIC !! THANK YOU
This song has a powerful message. Listen to them discuss what it’s about as it will make so much sense.
If the artist has to tell audience what the art is "about", he has failed.
It's on your nose and childish. They're very much part of the "gossip", but they try to moralize everybody else like they're an indie band living in a trailer with no toilet.
@@8ulls3y3 but they started as an indie band, playing in the streets of Rome. And they also make fun of themselves a lot of times, it is clear they don't take themselves too seriously.. Sometimes a little childish fun song to dance around is just what you need.
Powerful message? You mean the same rehashed ad nauseam “message” about being tempted to compromise for success. So powerful
Maneskin is 🗑️
LOL, message couldn't be more generic and cliché. You're lying to yourself if you think these are deep lyrics.
I've seen that video once. It's good; it's funny; I like the spirit. They're not bad but their sound isn't really what I'm into.

I miss Damiano's hair but unlike Samson he is no weaker without. And does the guitarist remind anyone else of Nicky Wire? Either way these beautiful fools haven't pumped out a bad track yet.
The first solo is Thomas' solo
Think Tom has already done that solo before.
I’ve never heard these guys. I’ve heard of them, never listened, tho. That riff is pretty good, and I love Tom, so all in all, not bad.
