- The farewell to Rent in Broadway... To the beautiful play that was the center of New York for years and the play that will have long term effects in musical theater history and human art in general during the next century... Rent will then go in a tour around the world, Though I am sure we will never see it here in Egypt, at least we got the chance to see it in videos. So thank you whoever made the decision to make that video so that the message would reach those in the most far and darkest places...
Live and let others live... Love and don't judge.. be good no matter how cruel the world treats you... and always support peaceful choices.... This is what rent is all about... That's why Rent is exceptional, multicolored and amazing... that's why I loved this play and that's why it crossed borders and thousands of miles to reach a guy in Egypt, who wanted to share it with everyone, to share the message and the love... and I hope the message gets to everyone wherever he/she lives and no mater they do...
Jonathan Larson the writer of Rent passed away the morning the show was to premiere. It created a show for the ages and will forever be missed. Thank you Jonathan for your gift!
Praying for him and his family. Even 7 months later, because every life should be cherished and loved! Amen.

i feel so sorry that Jonathan Larson never got the opportunity to see this incredible musical with his very own eyes. i'm sure he is looking down on every single performance of this and smiling from ear to ear with pride

Man I'm in the moment in this song, just feeling the energy and living in the moment. Until that last line seasons of love is sung. I feel this accomplishment of johns dream. He's there watching and listening and feeling with all of us💙
This. I cried because it is the final farewell. The final curtain to something so beautiful. I recently was in RENT as a coat vendor and a chorus memeber and I still miss it to this day.
Without a doubt I always get shivers from this performance.
This is such a beutiful and touching version in my opinion and I think it's because they aren't in character anymore but have grown together so much in the time they did the show and have grown to love each other and the story they showed us so much and that's exactly what Rent is all about. It's a perfct rendition and I'm soo happy I can watch it on UA-cam. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Kisses to you and everyone that made this possible!

Tehreem I saw the final performance when they were showing it in movie theaters with a friend of mine, and I absolutely LOST IT when Anthony Rapp came on stage... And then he started crying when the rest of the original cast came out too. Everyone stood up in the theater, sang with them and were clapping with the song 😭😭😭 A memory I will never forget ❤️
I just went to watch 20 anniversary performance in Tokyo yesterday! It was my first time to watch and amazing performance....
I go to see it tomorrow night. So excited! This play changed my outlook on life.

I forget how old I was when I saw this for the first time - it was this exact recording. But I was so moved and I always will be amazed at how much you can learn from this play.
I also have Marfans, and had an Aortic Aneurism. I almost died of it. I met Al Larson at a Marfan conference, and told him how much the show meant to me. I can totally relate to the characters. I said that my favorite lyric is "To people living with, living with, living with, living with, not dying from disease." Because, I'm living with Marfan Syndrome, not dying from it. He told me that his favorite song is No Day But Today.
Gave me chills - he nailed it. So much emotion...
I can't get enough of this song. It's moving seeing people at the moment they're doing something that's one of the greatest things they'll ever do. Let's hope that we'll get to hear many many wonderful covers of this song!
Thank God it's back on Broadway so everyone can now experience this amazing story.

Truly singular expression of Love. I'd heard about it yet only got to see the film with a sweet woman I was dating. She had to bring her vet Dad at the last minute. When Angel & Jesse kissed he was like ".... Umm..what's going on here??? It's ok Dad, I'll explain later.". Seasons is SUCH a wonderful song! It brackets the film version -- and Angel is the Hero!! The only 2 people in the movie that were not in the stage show was Rosario Dawson ( Mimi ) & Tracie Thoms ( Joanne ). Everyone else who was in the movie was the OBC of Rent!

They were in the original cast. Look up "Rent - Seasons of Love - Democratic Convention"
They weren't in the Broadway musical, they might have been in it at one point, but not in the final performance. I think they were only in the movie version.

He had Marfans's and died of a heart issue. Very Sad. This is my favorite song from the show, but I hated this version because of the different key. I always enjoy hearing the nice big high C :-)
