It's taking something AWAY from the actual man, I can imagine he would be pissed to be portrayed by a black man and that's just fan-fucking-tastic in my book, but it still acknowledges what good he did though while also making fun of him "don't talk about the war you didn't fight in it." You can tell they have practiced this song to complete perfection. They know not only when they sing, but when the other sings, and how to play off of eachother, not to mention their vocals are both 100% on point during this song. By far one my favorites to see live.
I think about the contrast of the selflessness of Washington. He was the first “ruler” to voluntarily walk away for the good of the new nation. With that act, I think that makes him one of the greatest leaders to ever live. Contrast that with now…I think we’ve forgotten that a bit. This song makes me tear up thinking about this simple, but great act. I loved seeing the backup singer have tears in her eyes as well. This is pretty powerful art.
Washington was in poor health at the time he stepped down. He was personally worn down by the factions in his Cabinet. At that stage in his life, George was cognizant of the message he'd be sending if he was still President and died in office. He didn't want to give the impression that 'President' was another term for 'King,' so on both a professional and personal level, he was done. Washington passed a year later, so that tells us how in sync he was with both his inherent wisdom and experience.

If I remember correctly Joe Biden's son Beau died a a year before this song was played before his father. When you look at Joe Biden sitting next to Obama. Remember this is a man who's had to say goodbye to so many people. His wife. His first born daughter. Then his son. After decades of service he thought his retirement would be great, but now events beyond his control forced him to return to politics to defend the legacy of Barack Obama from Donald Trump's rampage. I think we can all take stock in the fact that these men singing and those they sang too, felt at that moment - "One last time...would be enough." Reviewing the events of 2020 we know that was not true. History demanded one more time, and hopefully they each will one day rest under their own vine and fig tree. Leaving this world knowing they left it better for the next generation!

I’m not an American but i miss the charisma and stability of the Obama’s as a couple. As a European I think many will agree with me that between Trump, Biden and Obama the US looked much stronger and reliable while Obama was in office.

George Washington's Hamilton songs didn't resonate with me until this past week, when the importance of his actions and teaching America to let go 200+ years ago now matter so much. Now these songs make me SO proud of my country and what it stands for and how it works.
Gives me chills every time I hear this song… our forefathers, not perfect, they were in fact brilliant and passionate about the country they sacrificed to create!

Chris Jackson is amazing and "One Last Time" really shows off his talent, but I'd argue that Renee Elise Goldsberry is one of the best vocalists in the cast. She has to hit a lot of high notes and keep strong breath control during her "Satisfied" number. Though Chris' voice is very smooth and conveys a ton of emotion when he sings. He was so good as Washington it's hard for me to think of other actors playing that character.
