I have never not heard that before a field trip lol. It always freaked me out because I was worried that we would ruin our school's image if we messed up somehow when really to barely mattered.

I remember my principal saying that to each class of juniors before a school placement test (pretty much giving the school a ranking based off of our test scores) and……I’ll be honest, after that speech, I almost wanted to fail on purpose. Like yes, I understand that a better placement will mean better funding into what we want, but at the time, all I could think is “this man just said so much bullshit, even some racist stuff, and then he has that audacity to say we represent this school???”

I’ve been on the London eye. You absolutely can not see peoples faces from the other side of the Thames. 😂😂 They’re like 20 people pods and they look tiny in the distance, so you can tell they aren’t close, the Thames is a pretty wide river. You may have seen an outline at best but you did not know it was him.

I like that because I think he’s like, acknowledging with that bit that in American schools, there really is just as much pressure, it’s just,,,, way more subtle. It’s always toxic positivity and “you’re excellent so I expect nothing less than excellence because then you’d be misrepresenting the entire school of excellent children, and you wouldn’t want thattttt, righttttt?? We don’t teach failures!!” where as in many other countries (or as far as I know lmao), it’s much more direct like “I’m going to punish you in this specific way if you do not act perfect and you will f e e l t h e p a i n when you receive it.”

This one time we had a study hall so our teacher said we could all go out and walk to the ice cream place to buy some ice cream. Once we got there we realized that we forgot two students at the school. And the teacher just stood there like “well fuck” “does anybody wanna run back to the school to go get them?” She sent two kids to run back to the school to get them and then we all proceeded to eat our ice cream like nothing happened.

"Cracker Barrel High" - wow, if there was ever a more American-named school, I don't know what it is.
Dude, you just crack me up. My mom was from Liverpool and met my dad, an American, when he was attending Oxford. They built their life here in the USA but my British mum had a huuuuuge influence on me.
Your videos ring so true because I, like you, know both cultures. You are spot-on with these and you crack me up every time (the cussing-in-school one being my favorite thus far).

I went to a uniformed school and every time we went on a field trip we would have to wear our assembly uniform (white button up, blazer, tie) and they all had our school crest and the name so every time we went for a field trip they would go “remember you have our schools name written on you so you have to show your best behaviour and show of what a great school we are”
