Like yes, I understand that a better placement will mean better funding into what we want, but at the time, all I could think is “this man just said so much bullshit, even some racist stuff, and then he has that audacity to say we represent this school???”
I’ve been on the London eye. You absolutely can not see peoples faces from the other side of the Thames. 😂😂 They’re like 20 people pods and they look tiny in the distance, so you can tell they aren’t close, the Thames is a pretty wide river. You may have seen an outline at best but you did not know it was him.

I like that because I think he’s like, acknowledging with that bit that in American schools, there really is just as much pressure, it’s just,,,, way more subtle. It’s always toxic positivity and “you’re excellent so I expect nothing less than excellence because then you’d be misrepresenting the entire school of excellent children, and you wouldn’t want thattttt, righttttt?? We don’t teach failures!!” where as in many other countries (or as far as I know lmao), it’s much more direct like “I’m going to punish you in this specific way if you do not act perfect and you will f e e l t h e p a i n when you receive it.”

Told not to step out of line by the teacher in charge but every other teacher being like “yeh just meet here in an hour, stay in groups and if u wander off don’t let the year co see u alone”
