Phil never spoke about jordan being defensive he just mentioned the physical attributes of jordan over Kobe but never fully clarified about who is better because he knows both of them.

IMO, and most agree, Jordan is #1 and no one is even Close. Magic Johnson agreed with that when He Said: -- "There's Michael Jordan... and then there's the rest of us (everyone else)".

See, brother, I don't see any point in arguing about this fact. For you, Jordan is the best, the greatest. For me, Kobe is the best, the greatest. Kobe tried to emulate Jordan on the court and off the court, in business, basketball, influence, and everything else, including playing for the national team. Everything was similar to Jordan. Jordan showed how to become one of the greatest or the greatest. Kobe embraced, learned, and took that to the next level. If we include LeBron James, he learned from both of them and became the face of the modern era of basketball.
