Thank you for sharing how much some of these products cost. One site I viewed them on didn't even bother to tell how much they cost. At least you were honest, especially when you didn't know the cost of some items. I might be able to afford the Flexible Love and Unique cube wall shelves at their lowest price.

If I had $3,000 for a small chair chances are I can afford a big house where space is not an issue. Space saver furniture I think needs to be cheap for it to be a revolutionary furniture. These items are for rich people with big houses that want something different. With $3-8000 just build another dam room.

No, they don't need it. But they would have it to show off the cool stuff they can buy that they don't need. I have always liked the capstan table and would absolutely have one if I could afford it.

Not all rich people live in spacious homes. In manhattan a 1,000 square foot condo can cost a million dollars in the right neighborhood. And some other cities are similarly expensive. The rich in these cities may be able to afford a bedroom for themselves, but not for guests and not enough space for a giant dining table to be out 24/7.

  • @OriginalRazar

When growing up, we had a table that seated 4 people, but had a small section that could be placed in the center of it to expand it to seat 6 people. And you could buy a larger section to allow for 8 people to sit there. I am around 40 years old. So this is nothing new. But the cost on these tables is stupid. A regular adjustable table used to cost only a few hundred dollars more than a normal table with no adjustment. These are thousands of dollars more. lol.
I know someone that lived in a studio apartment about 15 years ago. He had a bed that was behind a bookcase. It also swiveled around to hide the bookcase, and allow for the bed to drop down to be used. There was also a small night stand that could be slid out on one side of the bed, where he kept his alarm. The total cost was just under $500 for it, and it was a single bed. If he wanted a double, queen, or king, then he would have had to have a larger apartment. At that point, I doubt that he would have wanted a bed that folded up, and would not have been as comfortable as a bed with box springs under it.
The only thing in the video that has not been done before is the chair that moves like a slinky. All the other things in the video are things that have been done before. The only difference is that these people are charging way too much for the same products.
A wise man once said that there is nothing new under the sun. Guess he was right. These are just overpriced remakes of things that have been done before.

If you have some abbilities, you can design your own and let it build by someone involved in furniture manufacturing - I designed smart wardrobe - space for snowboards, full movable wardrobe for my formal dresses, hidden workshop with expandable table, wardrobe for cleaning (vacuum cleaner etc.) and upper space of 1.1 x 1.3 x 0.5m for bigger stuff (snb/ski equipment, skates,.....) - total cost of 1.500 USD (manufacture + installation). I chosed from several companies, highest price offer was 4.000 USD

Actually some stuff become cheaper like bed-sofa. You can buy a working solution for about $500 in IKEA or another furniture shop. Many of these furniture are just some unique custom solutions, which aren't very useful in each house. Like tables changing it's size. It's more like about individuality which is valued in USA and Europe.

the "florida 2" --- you said when configured as the coffee table it measures 2.4 feet by 2.6 feet. Then when configured as the dinner table it measures 3.9 feet by 5.2 feet. the video demonstrated the table sliding apart and two pieces added into the middle. One of the measurements should be the same in both configuration. (depending on what term is used for the width or length or depth) The table did not get wider AND DEEPER, it only got wider. ( my use of the term width would be the table opening side to side )

TBH, you can make much more usable and versatile furniture yourself, e.g. who was the idiot thinking that making your TV hidden when you want to use your bed is a good idea? In my opinion, TV is used the most in the afternoons and in the evenings. Plus, when you're ill, what else can you usually do when you have to rest in your bed? You can read books, work on your laptop or watch the TV... oh, nevermind, you can't use it because you bought this very useful piece of very affordable furniture (sarcasm alert).
