These are really cool ideas but I have an idea that none of these would save money as this sort of stuff is generally extremely expensive! And a lot of people who live in small spaces - have small spaces because they don’t have a lot of money!
I agree. I have an idea! Don’t live in a city! If there’s one thing COVID lockdowns showed us is that we don’t need to be in a corporate office to be effective. In fact, most people are way more effective and efficient working from home. If you have that kind of job of course. That being said, move out into the suburbs or an even more rural area. Property is cheaper and you generally have much more space. Your quality of life will be way better.

A few of these space saving ideas are used by van lifers to make efficient tiny homes on wheels…. Like the drop down bed. Or the bed over closet…. Actually those, living in vans, would call them beds over garages. Those are some very interesting living/ storage options that I see in this video
Murphy beds were popular back in the day. I rented a studio apartment whilst attending the UW. It had a Murphy Bed which I thought was cool. It also had many cockroaches.
The Sunken Bed just looks to me like a really expensive way to have a nice, solid cotton, futon mattress on the floor. (instead of being ruined by some foldable frame)
I made one just like the thumbnail about 15 years ago. I had a room with vaulted ceilings but little closet space and floor space. It worked out great!
By the way did I miss the part where they showed the entertainment center/closet room thumbnail? That’s why I clicked on this video in the first place and I don’t remember seeing it in the video😮
I love almost everything in the video but it's all to expensive! The next video should be similar but affordable. We are supposed to be saving space so stuff that could fit in a small house, even a tiny house or a house on wheels.♥️🙏
Two thing's. The people that can afford these are not living in small homes. The people living in small homes - like myself - actually find them impractical because they still ironically take up so much space. Especially when you live in the UK when a single bed can easily take up 1/4 of your room space. All of the presentations look fine until you realise they take place in massive bedrooms far larger than perhaps your living room.
Like the folding kitchen. You need space to fold it up and you need space to store it. A kitchen is a space you use every day, folding it is a hassle. Can't really see the use case.
@@leegarnier9396 I could. You should see some of micro apartments in Japan. If you could fold up the kitchen in one of those and gain a square foot or two of floor space that would literally increase your living space by as much as 25% in some of them.
Okay yeah these are pretty cool and clever designs, but can you imagine living with these, like spending extra time unfolding and folding everything back every time you need a snack? Not to mention cleaning it would be a huge chore as they are generally not fit for easy cleaning in long term.
All I can think of with the fusion pool table is Wyrmwood's gaming table. That one even comes with a magnetic slot all around the table that holds the optional cup holders, dice trays, small tables for individual players, etc. And that slot is on both in the inside and outside. And you don't even have to move the game to eat! If you decide for a pizza break, the whole game can be covered up until the food is gone, then brought back out. And did I mention that these tables are all hand-made wooden tables? Yes they are expensive, but oh so worth it. Even the 6 month waiting list is worth it.

I honestly don't understand how the sunken bed saves any space over a regular bed or a mattress on the floor? Or the floating bed???? LOL, you not only have to have room for the bed, but also room for those supporting ? Rods? Wires? This cracks me up. I thought the floating bed was the epitome of silly! Then along came Yin Yang Bed! I can't breathe!

Dude. That fusion pool table took me back to the one kids gaming table that was a pool table, a tennis table and air hockey table (?). I think it was made by Fischer-Price but I could be wrong. I had one when I was a kid so this gives me a bit of nostalgia.
My bed consists of 9- 4 by 4s bolted together with 4 by 8 sheet plywood. It's solid I can stretch out it cost me $100 to build. No mattress I took several cheap sleeping bags n opened them out. I've bad back n need support. It works for me.
The Ikea stackable beds are nice but there is a weight limit...chubby kids or heavy adults can break the slat, jus sitting on it. The PIA pop up kitchen sounds perfect for a studio apartment of tiny living.....thanks for this video.
Yes...yes, all of these amazing innovations. Because the rich people who have all the space in the world, need to save space for a 70k folding table. It's definitely not the poor in their tiny rat holes that need these innovations.
These are so expensive. Even a “basic” Murphy bed is over $1500, and the hardware to create your own is in the hundreds of dollars. If you can’t afford a decent sized home how can you afford these pieces?
Those who need a foldable kitchen are not going to have a stove. Of course, you'd just use tabletop burners. In most cases, I'm not actually sure where someone would put this. If they are renting out a warehouse, unfinished basement or something, then it would be great, but typically, those who don't have a kitchen wouldn't have the space to fit this, especially unfolded. Those without a kitchen sometimes barely have room for a microwave and minifridge. That one I just don't really understand.
Well, think of a room and a bathroom. You have the Murphy Bed with the table. At night you fold up the kitchen and unfold the Murphy Bed. In the morning you fold up the Murphy Bed (revealing the table) and unfold the kitchen. 2 rooms occupying the same floor space.
I don't like the idea of the books being under each step. One, your books would get all sorts of dirt kicked onto them. Two, if you fail to shelve a book properly, you could take a nasty tumble.

I wonder how well these products sell. It would seem that the majority of people that need space saving furniture, might need the furniture cost to save them money. #JustSayin
The expense issue is real. My guess is that if enough people with money (who live in city centers of old cities) became aware and started buying more of these, they would become less expensive/more competitive as demand increases/ they become more common. It’s not likely, but spread these things like memes and you never know what’ll happen!
