hell yeah my favorite video type, overproduced for something only a small section of people on earth care about, a video that turns me into one of them
Did kelvin steal kevins kelp?
SAME
That's a good way to put it.
We are the few, but the very powerful.
Prepare to half press your PLAY button... *NOW!* 🤘😂👍
I don't have a special interest in old audio decks however the narration/custom music and as you said overall production quality makes it worth watching for me
This channel is what happens when a perfectionist is allowed to take their mad idea to completion. I love you man, keep being awesome.
Thank you! ✌

@@user-fe8gx3ie5v what the hell are you talking about
@@hal4615 Basic grammar.
I laughed so hard at the “WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?”
You really managed Muppet-levels of arm-flail there!
I replayed it so much my mum came over and laughed even harder than i did
99% sure it was chopped so it could fit in a entertainment center. I've been there.
@@jamesm9560unlike this one hopefully you used something other than a jack hammer to do it
As an industrial designer specializing in product rendering I can assure you that the diagonal streak in the photo was not an accident. Sharp contrasting lines across a surface are a means of conveying "new", "polished", "smooth" and "futuristic".
Love your videos, by the way!
Thanks, and thanks ;)
But you are an industrial designer in 2022 and not in 1990s.
Design languages change with time.

Removing the protective plastic on the remote has satisfied my biggest pet peeve. Absolute legend.
Whenever I get something new I leave the plastic on for as long as I can. That delayed satisfaction is sooo nice. Especially when I realize weeks or months later that I forgot and I finally get to peel it off. It keeps it looking nice for longer and lets me enjoy the feeling of a new product long after I've bought it. Now mind you it usually lasts a few hours to days at most but sometimes the protective plastic cover stays on for quite a while. Not as long as the remote in this video though lol
you are such an underrated artist in how you have been able to make concepts that most take for granted look new and bring new life to things through your extremely well executed soundtracks and musical skill. before watching this video i hardly knew anything about this particular sound system but now having watched it i feel familiarized with it.
💯
Thank you!
Thanks for the contents and the new music. Amazing you went through all the effort to recreate the HD version of the commercial.
Thank you! Much appreciated!
@posy I dont know who you are, I dont know how you found me, but tonight your videos demonstrated to me that i am in the wrong career. I have an artistic and creative mind but I never knew how I could make a living doing something that could be creative, useful, and meaningful. I think now I want to pursue education in the field of industrial design. Your videos truly inspire me, thank you for this guidance and helping me to readjust my path.
3:50 My jaw literally hit the floor with how perfectly and beautifully you recreated the product advertisement aesthetics.
More like a wonderfully produced video about something I’ve never thought about before. 😊
Every one of this guy’s videos makes me wish I was friends with him in real life
Every day becomes a good day when there is a new video from posy
Your videos are always a piece of art.
Man! The protective coat which was kept on its place by the previous owners is an insane gift
Yeah, no need to clean. Best used item care.
I sold one of these not long ago on ebay in the UK.
The pre-amp display is known to go blank, but it is just a 50 pence capacitor that needs replacing inside as I fixed 2 of them after finding this out ;) They're lovely-looking stereos, with the only fault being the slow-acting volume knob.
Making your own cassette tapes definitely required the use of the manual, as it was quite complicated.
wow that opening shot is GORGEOUS
This Video has sooo much meme-potential, i mean @2:00, @2:16, @8:10.
And buy more furniture, so you can store more stereos and we can watch more videos like this...
I also still own a Kenwood Stereo-System from 97/98 but ist a compact one, a XD-551. My first love, still rocking!
THX, wonderfull video.
I have to stop watching Posy's videos... 15 minutes ago I had no idea this system existed. Now I want one
I love how much youre interested in things no one else cares about. Really shines through in all your content how passionate you are. Love the video! 10/10
Thank you! :)
Nowadays the dual sound feature would make some sense - you can have your email and whatnot notification at the same time than listening to cd's for example. Awesome video. And now I know i'm not the only one who 'designed' his own stereo systems back in the day to my sketsbooks.
I've seen some gaming headphones with separate volume control for both system audio and voice chat, so this could also be useful for that!
it's called volume mixer on windows. it functions like crap but it exists.
I use separate speakers for music and separate for system audio. I think it would be useful to have spoken word radio over some music probably
Adding a soundtrack to my audio book ✍️
@@Splarkszter That's true, and also why a hardware alternative can come in handy
You put such an immense amount of work into these, mad respect.
Dude, what a beautiful system! Back in the 90s my dad had a shop where we sold these systems - Kenwood, SONY, Panasonic, Technics, Philips, etc. I still have my old catalogues. I could only dream to own some of these back in the day!
I love the humor and presentation. It’s exactly the niche retrospective that I need. The 90s kid in me thanks you.
Super creative goofiness. Playing two sources at the same time w no mixers is a stoner accessory my eighteen year old self will adore
I’m already in love with this video, thank you for the consistent quality :)
If I ever see this as a young teen or as a kid, I would fallen in love with this at an instant, even today I'm looking now for this :)
really really love everything you create. thank you so much!!!
Thank you very much!
nothing better than a guy that has a genuine passion for various things, one of the best channels ever, top quality as always
One of my favourite things is listening to people who are passionate about something niche. They have such a pure joy.
This is just my favorite type of video. Something that could be basic, but was turned to something incredible by the voluntary efforts of an extremely talented man no one knows about.
Keep up the great work, Posy. I'll make sure to follow it as long as it exists.
Posy, you are without doubt the most dedicated youtuber I have seen. Your videos are professionally made, and your camera work is perfectly executed. And you go even further and even make your OWN music! I've never seen a youtuber do that for their videos. Keep up the great work!
sticking around to the last second is always worth it in your videos!
This channel is just lovely. Nice production and still funny and "warm". It puts smile on my face. Thank you!
Thank you :)
Zonder grappen, deze kerel maakt betere content dan 95% van alle overige youtubers.
Pure kwaliteit.
Dank! Maar niet overdrijven nu 😁
Thanks bunches, Michiel! Another incredibly fun and immersive video. Love it to bits.
Awesome tunes as well; I actually prefer the vocal version of Just Play a Song 💜.
Thank you! Hm interesting ;)
Posy, je bent echt een legend. Ik kijk elke keer weer vol fascinatie naar hoe je met zo veel passie vertelt over dingen waar ik nooit stil bij stond.
Veel love
Danks! :)
Wonderful video. I cannot express how much understanding I have for every single second of it. Your videos encouraged me to take action and boldly solve a problem most normal people just ignore: some music I like tends to disappear from the internet. So I decided to save it the old skool way like I always imagined it should be done - on minidisc! I never actually had one in it’s heyday but since I’m older and I can afford it now I thought: why the hell not. Minidisc are cute and colorful, the source is compressed anyway. I was also looking for a slightly better pair of speakers for my PC so before actually ordering a pair of decent monitors - why not take a look at the 00’s bookshelf hifi? And so I did. I found one by accident that was kinda broken but dirt cheap and just went for it thinking - it’s a good start of a quest for something better. I wasn’t afraid of repairing it myself obviously because it was dirt cheap. After two weeks of taking it apart and putting it together again I managed to fix every issue so now I had a placeholder micro hifi to play (and save by recording record) some music while looking for a better and more advanced system - maybe even from Japan! It took me a few months of tracking the ebay to come to a bitter sweet conclusion: there were no better systems than the one I bought dirt cheap almost by accident (cmt100md). Every other system I found is plagued with way more issues and by any mean even more frustrating to use nowadays. The worst part is I was really looking forward to enjoy the quest inspired by your videos to find myself the best hifi of it’s day. I know it saved me from having a closet full of old hifis I never use but the quest... oh I know it's stupid but I still think it would have been a wonderful and pointless waste of time and money :)
one of the most authentic, unique, and interesting UA-camrs there ever was. Thank you Posy!
Techmoan: Oh god, another old audio device video.
Posy: Oh my god! Another old audio device video!
Your mini hifi wall is awesome! These videos have definitely given me a good appreciation for a stereo segment which I had previously ignored.
You know it's a good day when Posy uploads a video! I think the best part about watching your videos is that they give the younger generations a feeling of what the technology our parents used when growing up and in their 20s. On top of that, your videos turn each product/subject into a timeless experience, something I've not seen being done so well by anyone else. Very cool, keep up the content!
Ah!! My dad had the *exact* same sound system!! This is the piece of equipment that got me into audio visualizers. I loved watching the little bars 'sing and dance' to the grateful dead growing up. My dad always had it in some weird echo mode (DSP) and thought that's just how they're supposed to sound lol.
Just thinking of all those people who were (or still are) convinced that a certain "sound mode" was/is how music should actually sound like, and then be really enthusiastic or even get annoyed or mad if you're trying to convince them otherwise.
Just a year ago, I went to this couple's place, whom I had never met before, with a friend. At pretty early stage I noticed that the rear speakers of his home theater system were trying to output some music but it sounded like severely mashed up, distorted bits and broken compression algorithms. And once I noticed that, I tried to listen to the front speakers and they didn't sound much better. At some point I decided to fiddle with the remote and found a basic "stereo" mode. Then the system (with some pretty expensive looking main speakers) started sounding like they were actually playing music (without the surround speakers).
Fast forward a bit and I hear the dude raising his voice about someone making changes on his receiver. Yeah, ok, I get it, I'd be pissed too if someone changed my settings, but only if they were some actually measured/set up room corrections that really took me time and not just some idiotic "dolby pro logic" or "BBE level +5" nonsense. I think his receiver was one of those very basic integrated home theater amps... Even though the dude seemed like he is in to hifi more than average, as there was another pair of floor speakers in the "hallway" of the apartment.
These videos are so comfy for some reason, great work on both the track and the video! Also you have a really good sense of cinematography/photography
One of the very few channels I have all notifications turned on for, amazing work! And man, you can really tell those are good speakers from the sound they produce in that room during your omni speaker demo
You inspire me so much dude. Your videos are perfect and your music is fucking incredible. Listening to it melts my mind. Thank you for everything you do.
I love reviews of ancient technology. Posy does the ones I love the most. Great videos!
i love every video u put out. thank you. its hard to find quality videos that have passion. it never matters what its about as long as your passionate and doing what you wanna do.
Thank you :)
Usually i find videos that take longer to get to the point annoying... With this one i still have no real clue but i love it.
My parents have this unit with all the optional extras like Omni Top speakers. I was blown away when I heard the 3d sound CD that came with it. Still an awesome unit by todays standards.
Where have you been all my life. The whit, the creativity, the masterpiece that is this channel. This is right up my alley and I’ll be here as long as you are.
Your videos never miss to put a wide smile on my face. ☺
Thank you Posy for your interesting documentary-like videos! I find them all super interesting!!
This montage, voice, musics, footage, wonderful camera shots… Your videos are stunning !
Everything you do is so interesting! I love your videos and your sound design. I forget that i'm a sound engineer and designer myself and i really enjoy when those moments happens. I have to "rewind" just to listen again. Cheers from Norway!
Your "why would you do that?!" Got me good
One of the most underrated channels on UA-cam. Always love to see your videos pop up Posey :)
3:56 It’s great you both wished and had resources to reproduce that image!
I just discovered your channel, and i think you're about to be one of my favorite creators on this platform. Thank you so much for the love and care that went into this strangely entertaining video
I remember how design and functionality used to get hold of me, just as your channel does to me since I had the fortune to see it. And it bring back memories is another factor that plays on my melancholy. Thanks a lot
I never knew I'd ever do this: turn on notifications for a UA-cam channel. Thanks for having so much fun with this weird topic, and presenting it in such a beautiful way.
Your channel is just so unique. The way you do your videos is just so engaging, and I love the topics.
That CD platter ejecting is one of the most satisfying things I've ever seen in my life, and I'm completely impressed with how you made a widescreen video version of the advertisement photo! Definitely one of my favorite UA-cam videos I've ever seen!
I've just discovered this channel thanks to a friend's suggestion. Nice stuff, beautiful devices! I love 'vintage' audio systems. I also own a few of them. Wish I knew how to repair them. Cheers from Uruguay, mate! Keep on rockin'
Was caught very much off-guard by the slapstick acting. Fantastic video, man.
I love this channel, the videos are so high quality in so many ways it's beautiful
Absolutely love the enthusiasm on your videos. I watched every single one of them despite having no interest in sound systems. Something just keeps bringing me back here.
thanks you!! it's unbelievably great, you have brought back so many great memories I thank you so much
absolutely wonderful!
Thank you!! :)
I don't really know exactly why but I feel like I should be slightly annoyed by your over-produced videos about things only I may care about, but they are just so awesomely done and the items are so cool that I can't help loving them and appreciating your time and work.. :D Cheers man. Don't stop.
you are very underappreciated for the quality of your work and the time that goes into it
but the lot of us that watch your videos really appreciate it much more than most people would
Your passion for these subjects is contagious. Thanks for sharing!
This is the best thing!!!! Love it!!!!!
I miss the Aiwa and JVC Hi-Fi Stereo Systems I had growing up.
Absolutely loved them, and your passion for this Kenwood was JUST AS lovely to see.
Your opening shot, had me clapping. Got my like. I understand your effort.
I appreciate your way of adoring those old hifi systems, I do the same thing but for old TVs and I know that having 4 CRTs chilling in your living room is weird!
The most perfect channel of all time, and it keeps getting better!
Such a beautiful kind of passionate nerdism. ❤
Posy, your videos are amazing, thank you!
Your channel is one of the best here on UA-cam- keep up that brilliant work! 🎉
'Over produced' is all I want.
Video, audio, content are so rich and high def.
I've been stuck on this channel for almost 2hrs now.
I’m so glad I found this channel! Your humour is brilliant! 😅 I’m from the era of drooling over these gadgets, dreaming of having the money to buy them. My friend bought the previous system to this I think, used the Dolby surround sound with a laser disk player! And a Sony widescreen CRT TV.
This video makes you feel like revisiting an old tech and intensively staring at it's features for a good amount of time, just like a normal audio geek would do that's born in the 90s. You can almost smell the innerds of the electronics just by watching. This channel is such a gem. thanks for making such a beautiful and in depth walkthrough, it really does scratch the itch of my inner geekiness lol.
I love this channel and the way you describe and present things so much
Thank you! :)
Yet another amazing production by you keep this up I love every second of every one of your videos!
Thank you for all the content you've done so far!!
I love your cursors btw and religiously install and promote them on any PC I find.
Thank you making content that’s fun, quirky and well informed! This is why I come to UA-cam in the first place!
You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to upload… much love from the UK
I love this channel because 99% of the time i've never heard about the subject of the video before I see it but I come away feeling like an expert :)
The "How It's Made" music genre just elevates this video to another whole new level. Great video and songs as always @Posy!
You is my biggest inspiration as a creative person. I'm so proud of you, Posy!!
This is my favourite channel! Thank you
Dude you are living my life.
The ability to go back in time to the iconic devices that tugged at my heart strings.
love your dedication n love for both audio n cinematography

Another banger. Always happy to see an upload from you.
Woohoo, new Posy video! The soundtrack you made for your segmented display video is one of my favourite albums ever. So happy to see a new video!
my god I love your videos. they are so good, and creative.
