I know this is pretty much ancient history, but I just want to say I just finished Wasteland 2 and recognized the voice on the final song. Man, this hits right in the feels. Awesome work.
legit, I was looking around the ranger citadel, saw the davy crocket, got its little story or whatever, and I saw it had an option to activate it. being new to the game, and not thinking because 3:am in the morning I hit the button. and well everything died and I got the game over screen and this song on loop.
Well, you weren't thinking at 3AM. The rangers who allowed a live nuclear bomb to sit there weren't thinking for years on a row. I'd say they deserved it :P.
I didn't know you took part in making wasteland 2's soundtrack until I heard this song during the ending and I was like "Holy shit, that sounds a lot like miracle of sound". It was pretty cool to find your work in a game.
Actually from what I know Miracleofsound made it as a tribute first, and then the devs of Wasteland listened to it and were like ... "sh it, we have to put it into the game somewhere, it's so good!" :D
Was chilling on the Wasteland menu while setting up OBS to record and this song came up, a bit of searching and here it is. I got chills listening to it... fantastic work!
I know this is a Wasteland 2 song, but I like listening to it when I play Fallout: New Vegas. It fits the whole western theme that the game has going for it.
+will Moorman The original fallout games pretty much were sequels to wasteland in all but name. Same dev team, same goal, just no EA and therefore no wasteland name.
"ruining fallout 4" Yeah, because that game was ruined. It was an attempt by Bethesda to do something different that failed. The game is still fun, despite missing a few good elements that make the fallout games what they are, but it's still a good game. Better than Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. If anyone ruined fallout, it was Black Isle studios when they released that garbage.
I love this song. After everything that happened in wasteland 2 this songs absolutely summaries it. It also made the ending far more enjoyable. It indicates that the good guys never had it easy but despite the all the torment and suffering they faced they still do the right thing. This also gives a foundation to wasteland 3 best ending. Making wasteland 3 best ending far more enjoyable and a good potential conclusion. At least for me.
After 7 Years im comming back to this Video to say something. Thank YOU! Still to this Day an Epic Song. In my mind this Song is perfect and i hope to get a Banger like this in a Wasteland 4. After Wasteland 3 with his great Tracks we need a Combination of Both!
Because it's not a competition for smaller independent artists like me. And before everyone shouts 'Epic Rap Battles' at me... those lads have 7 million subscribers, I have 100,000. I'm nowhere near as well known!
+Rick Sanchez shame on me for breaking my rule of not reading comments because of spoilers. i guess it's fair game though since it's the end of game music. i got to the credits early game from a certain button in the citadel. thought it was pretty funny
No worries as far as spoilers go. Anyone is Wasteland 2 is capable of dying (well except for 1 character among the Rangers that stays out of any battle and can only be killed if you personally attack her) but as long as you're lacking the when, where and why that should barely count as a spoiler.
What are the differences between this, and the end-credits version? I found one. "Iron in my blistered fingers. Leather-made my skin." is how it is in this version. "Iron in my blistered fingers. Ragin' chambers spin." is how it is in the credits version.
10 years late to the party, but, I listened to this song. jammed to it on your channel, then went and bought the game, fought through that game, through the blood, sweat and tears, got to the end credits, and to my utter shock I heard Gav's voice singing over the credits. That my friends, more than anything, made me feel like I accomplished something.
Standing on the edge of a grey desert that was called a New York back then ... before great dusk. Dust falls from my coat and eyes are trying to find a shade of that world which is long gone in slowly disappearing light of sun ... that how it feels .. lonely, sad and calm ... Thank Gavin
Decided to go back and finish Wasteland 2 after seeing the sequel on my Steam recommendations. During the credits I thought the song sounded kinda familiar, but was too busy reading the epilogue to pay it too much mind. It was only afterwards when the song stuck with me and I realized it sounded like the one and only miracleofsound so I had to look it up and sure it enough it was one of your master pieces! I'm on to Wasteland 3 now and hope to hear your work again.
of all the songs that miracle of sound has and will make, this one will always be his crowning achievement, his magnum opus, because this song actually made it into the official game. great work as always gavin.
This is the first song of yours I've heard. It's awesome, fits perfectly in to the game and now I'm going to spend all day going through all your other songs.
Man, I'm so fired up for Wasteland. I've been following it since the start and pitched in for the project as soon as I saw it. Music is top notch as always. Keep it up Gav.
I've been forcing all of my friends to listen to your music. I keep a mix disc of all of favorite songs that I've bought so far in the radio in my truck. It's been there for the last few months and if one of my friends says they don't like it, I threaten them with violence. Joker's song is definitely a favorite amongst my group. You rock!
I love this Song so hard after 8 Years i have to come back and celebreated again! And i still think if you combine this Song with the best out of Wasteland 3! You have one maybe the best Soudtracke ever to a Game.
Glad you did. Not that I think you couldn't have managed on your own, but your dedication to making your songs match the atmosphere of the game is definitely something I can appreciate.
I need to say this not so long ago i finished this game, and Gav the, implementaion of this song and whole sound it is perfect . When i ended the game i just sit there in my chair for entire song and listen .Listening to vocie of person who tried to catch the meaning of this world . You'r passion to this game , love to games and perfect just perfect voice. GAV you are great and i wish that you never stop . Thank you
Wait, seriously?! We get a remake of a good song into an awesome song two days ago, and today we get an awesome new song? Gavin, I don't think that I can throw my money at my computer any harder than I already am. Please never stop being this awesome.
You don't know what you're missing, it's the forerunner to the Fallout series, the original post-apocalyptic game. When Mr Fargo couldn't do a Wasteland 2 all those years ago, he instead made the 1st 2 Fallout games. It took 20 years & a Kickstarter campaign, but finally Wasteland 2 is nearly here.
I'm just about ready to finish my first run through on the Director's Cut...and no matter how many times I listen to this song on YT, I cannot wait to listen to it at the end of the game. You did such a good job with this man, you should make some songs for a table top game called Deadlands: Hell on Earth.
Gav i'm just speachless! I would say that your songs is second favorites (right after Queen, and i'm just love Queen). I just can't figure out how you do it - each of your songs is unique, but in the same time you don't lose your style. You are simply genious
This is what I love most about music, good music, at least: I can always find inspiration in it. I had a story idea a while back, but it had largely gone unused. This gave me the final push to really develop some more of the world and the characters within it, starting with a quartet of ranger characters inspired by this song (and I guess the game its based on, but I think the song was more of a tipping point). Thank you, Gavin, for being a continuing source of inspiration and entertainment!
Really feeling this song Gav...it's a more mellow kind of country song...and you hit it just perfect. I've got it on repeat now while browsing the internet. Awesome stuff man!
Every time I hear one of these my mind is blown because they're all totally different styles. You're like a one man band, dude. I first heard your song the Ballad of Clay Carmine, and I've been hooked ever since man. Keep cranking out awesome music, man!
Gavin. Thank you very much for this outstanding song. I agree with everyone else that suggest that it should be a part of the official soundtrack for the game. Please, keep up the good work!
So I just finished Wasteland 2 cause it was free on GOG, and Gav's song started playing and it totally caught me off guard. Loved the song and here's to maybe seeing you again in Wasteland 3
Yes indeed. Mark Morgan is doing the soundtrack to Wasteland 2 and he actually gave me a few pointers for getting the atmosphere right in this song :)
This song is poggers
I know this is pretty much ancient history, but I just want to say I just finished Wasteland 2 and recognized the voice on the final song. Man, this hits right in the feels. Awesome work.
Yeah me too, i didnt know Gavin had made a song for this game, just finished it for the first time ever and was in awe XD
when I first heard this after completing Wasteland 2 I remember thinking to myself "this song fits this game perfectly." Well done.
I heard it when I accidentally set of the Davy Crockett in ranger citadel.
lmao gg
+Grayhem1136 Yeah, "accidentally".
legit, I was looking around the ranger citadel, saw the davy crocket, got its little story or whatever, and I saw it had an option to activate it.

Indeed! :D I just bought the game a few hours ago after I have had this song in my head ALL day at work :D
ONLY problem; It´s to short! ;) :D
Bexar It really is too short, yes! :o
Bexar Agreed, it is much too short D:
Born a man, died a Desert Ranger.
Damn right.
and waiting for winter... cuz with luck... it will come.
filypefx Winter came.
@@umbra9472 And so did I :3
By being completely obsessed with work and by pouring insane amount of hours into it :D
'Shadows on a scorched horizon/Like a wall we stand' are quite possibly the two most badass lines I have ever had the honor of hearing in a song.
Congratulations with this song getting on "Wasteland 2", Gav!
Hope this keep happening more!
I know this is a Wasteland 2 song, but I like listening to it when I play Fallout: New Vegas. It fits the whole western theme that the game has going for it.
That's because the original fallout games were inspired by the first wasteland game
+will Moorman The original fallout games pretty much were sequels to wasteland in all but name. Same dev team, same goal, just no EA and therefore no wasteland name.
AncientRaig Fuck EA and fuck Bethesda. I think i hate Bethesda more, for ruining fallout 4
Hoping they let obsidian Do fallout 4 (some place over around California) Same engine, But with a better story than a missing child report.
"ruining fallout 4"

Listening to this while downloading wasteland 3. Great song even 9 years later!
Holy crap, you did this??? Damn, i didnt realise that someone i've loved listening had a song in this amazing game!!
I love this song.

I pressed the big red button in the Citadel and now I'm here.

I did so and papa general was really proud :)
Same lolol
So epic to read ending slides with this song playing in the background.
Slide guitar, bass, drums, and lots of synth pads & atmospherics which I played mainly from Omnisphere Power Synth :)
When I found out this was you, I flipped out! This song is great. I've been a fan since 'Commander Shepard.' Thanks for all the great music, man.
Listening to this drove me to buy the game.
I don't normally like turn based games... but my gods, I AM NOT DISAPPOINT WITH THIS DECISION.
It's the other way around actually. The team who made Wasteland 1 couldn't originally get the rights to a sequel, so they created Fallout instead :)
Did one already! 'Redemption Blues'
At the end of the game, this song was just the last thing to make me cry.
+Allan Boury Finished it yesterday, almost cried ;(

The song is a part of the Wasteland 2 soundtrack :)

Are you working on Wasteland 3 soundtrack as well? Hearing your GOT about winter, I think it could be very interesting. ;)
What are the differences between this, and the end-credits version? I found one.
"Iron in my blistered fingers. Leather-made my skin." is how it is in this version.
"Iron in my blistered fingers. Ragin' chambers spin." is how it is in the credits version.
The wasteland 2 devs provided some insight and tips to have the song fit their game more. Ragin' chambers spin is a more badass line.
Born as a man, died as Desert Ranger!
I just finished Wasteland 2 and heard your song in the ending credits and now I'm here. Good job mate! :)
Same here :)
Same :) Subscribed!

I play most of the ones I make songs about, but I make songs about upcoming games sometimes when the developers work with me to cross promote them :)
My favourite game, and my favourite music. Maybe 20 years later, I will find this song in internet and start crying :`(
Fallout, DayZ, COD Ghosts, Gears of War 3, Red Faction Guerrilla.. All these games are made so much better when listening to this song.
I SO want to make a ranger or a gunslinger in a post-apocalyptic D&D season - and have this be their theme.
Once again you produce a song that doesn't disappoint. Keep up the good work Gavin!

I am very happy that one of your songs will finally be included in a game. You've earned it.
love the song man. It sounds like a mix of tribal, western, and fallout stile music.

Almost 1 year ago and I still listen to this song on my phone, I remember when it came out and I listened to it about 15 times in a row :)

I played a friend about 15 of your songs and he thought they were all different people and bands that's how awesomely versatile you are.
The song, which brings justice and resonates as one of the desert rangers in the radioactively wasteland, was touching.
This song by itself is a better Fallout game than 4 and 76 combined.
You're the best Gav! Love all of your songs, keep it up dude.
so soon after the previous one. you never cease to amaze me
I have never even heard of this game, but now I want to...
i guess its not yet released

its the game that inspired fallout
Fallout has been out since the late 90s mate, I doubt this inspired it.

The perfect ending song! Greatly reminds me the chills I felt listening to the ending song of Homeworld.
For what it's worth, I don't think that that matters much. Your music is phenomenal, and you should be proud of that.
There is a sound in this song, more than the sum of its parts...I can't explain it, it's like a...a miracle...of sound.
Awesome song!

Its amazing to think that I would've completely missed this series if this song was never made.
Masterful as always!

Another favorite song added to my list :) Very well done Gav, You have some true talent.

Gavin. Thank you very much for this outstanding song. I agree with everyone else that suggest that it should be a part of the official soundtrack for the game.
Please, keep up the good work!
Suits any Post-Apocalyptic setting so well.
still so amazing
This song is amazing
Heck yeah! We've got an old school rpg lover over here guys. I thought probably when you did Planescape, but now Wasteland 2 has confirmed it.
So I just finished Wasteland 2 cause it was free on GOG, and Gav's song started playing and it totally caught me off guard. Loved the song and here's to maybe seeing you again in Wasteland 3

In less than two weeks you have done 4 songs, that's pretty impressive man.
