This cover is so much better, then it has any right to be, its a shame not many people outside playing the game will ever get to hear it. Even the mysterious singer has not yet been revealed, to this day.
Yup - just sitting there saying, "This is a cool tune," then I heard the chorus. No clue it was this song! My only disappointment is that they didn't do the full song - they cut out the third verse. I can listen to this over and over.
This song was so good at the Jamboree, legit right now this moment, first playthrough. I didn't like this track stopping at the battle so I have muted the in game music and found this, running it on loop. Just took my tricked out machine pistol that fires spikes and unloaded a crit into one of their heads. Everybody have fun tonight.
Turns out inXile didn't include this song in the release of the extended soundtrack, so we still have no official artist. Also I feel like their last comment in the release post refers to me so I'm pretty happy :D Enjoy your new year's eve folks, and have a great 2021!
WHAT?! :( However I agree they were referring to you with "*With exception to one or two tracks you may notice are missing and which almost certainly have not been expertly extracted from the game files by crafty folks and uploaded to places where such things get uploaded." Ahahaha that's hilarious
I love how the music in wasteland feels like you handed sheet music to a bunch of self taught musicians that couldn't read the notes. It makes these old classics feel truly new and fresh.
I wish there were a few more songs like this. I like the concept of a pop song popular right before the bombs fell evolving into a folk song in the post-apocalyptic aftermath.
You know, I never even thought of it like that. Like it remained in the zeitgeist but took on a new character, changed by the lived experiences and outlook of the survivors who carried its existence. That's a really interesting idea, thanks for sharing
Wasteland fixes the biggest problem I have with Fallout, that Fallout is defined by the 1960's America. This game not only rejects that definition, being actual satire, but the world clearly moves forward. Mixing the old with the new.
Fallout isn't really defined by the 1960s America, it's just part of the backstory for how that Apocalypse happened and informs a few parcels of the world that are stuck in the old ways - such as New Vegas... Unless you mean Bethesda's attempts at Fallout... which yeah, those are just shallow 50s references.
@Oscar Graves New Vegas actually feels a lot like fallouts 1 and 2 directly translated into the 3D formula, so it's not like it is entirely separate to fallout, more like a continuation of the original vision of the series
this seems like a take made by someone who only played fallout 3 and 4 considering the biggest theme in fallout is literally how people rebuild and move on after the world ends
I don't do this game when I write those lines. But as a fanatic of the original, it give a new vibe of an old feeling. Can't wait to go deep a new time in the desperate hope with the Arizona rangers.
The Lyrics are a little re-arranged from the original (and missing a stanza near the end which would have been nice to keep.) After conversation with main dude i Read some comments all of them were making and felt Like trowing Up. Then i walked Back to the ranger Car, Put the Characters in the position and killed all of them. It was the contrary of fun.
it's even worse when you actually get the call of whats happening. as you arrive and storm the place to try to save the survivors they start killing them all off and the longer it takes for you to kill em all the more innocents get torched
What I like about this song, its that it embodies the spirit of professional soldiers embodying a basic sense of justice and enforcing it on a chaotic mess of a wasteland. I love this game.
With some years gone and the dlc out I'm kinda sad that the music went the battle hymn route. It's great still but this is still the best song and kinda alone in the soundtrack.

Could you please tell which tool did you use to rip those files? Given the most recent email from the InXile in which they announced expanding of the OST and discussed few noticeable omissions (this track, but also Land of Confusion), I no longer hope this will ever be released, even commercially.
@@VanVan-pj8sr They're not in plain audio file form, you have to rummage through the game's audio banks and unpack them from there. Sadly they're not named in any human readable form so I don't know for sure if songs are actually from Little Vegas but I'd just assume all techno-y sounding ones are.
Fallout is dead to me. Wasteland 3 had some minor problems like companion story etc. The atom DLC was terrible... a few other nit picks. But the world building, music, atmosphere....general coolness? Just blows fallout out of the water. This is the most immersive and enjoyable video game soundtrack in the past decade for me easily.
This song blew my mind in-game, when it got to the chorus and I realized what it was. The vibe change is incredible, and it works SO well.
I wonder what Wang Chung thinks of this cover.
Bro me too I was like HOLY SHIT ITS WANG CHUNG
They will never admit that its better.
You get it.
one of the greatest hits ive had in video games
See, I try to explain to people, Wasteland 3 is not a game, it's an experience. If you are reading this and haven't played it, go now!
The devs definitely knew what they were doing with the music in this game
They hired Tarantino's music supervisor for Wasteland 3.
ikr? it doesn't play in many moments (radio being an exception) but when it does it always hits the spot
that‘s why I got the "kill bill" feeling when hear this
I went and downloaded wasteland 2 just because I loved the music to wasteland 3
They knew what they were doing period. W3 is a triumph and W2 was a tough act to follow.
This is seriously one of my favorite covers of all time.
Mine too. Came here to say the same. 👍

I am addicted to many songs on this album, including this one. As of 2023, best soundtrack of any video game. Ever.
I reply the game just to relive the music and the amazing shit happening while the songs are playing.
The chorus hit and my mind was blown.
Right?! I was taken so off guard because the chorus coincided with a bunch of explosions at Cannibal Jamboree
I was laughing so hard after that
