      Same with the Luthor plan. I am beginning to think Screen Junkies had access to the script layout because they explain the plan right to the point.

      Well, Zemo at least sort accomplished his plan, and Luthor didn't really have any possible endgame where he won (either the heroes kill Doomsday and Luthor goes to jail, or Doomsday kills literally everyone), so...

That's the reason why he signed the accords, he cant correct the mistakes he made but basically he's trying to avoid more mistakes he might make in the future. This movie hits differently when you realize there is a clause in the Accords that exempts Tony from its limitations. The Accords regulate super-powered individuals, whether that is by genetic cause or advanced technology. But it states that any individual with a prosthesis, even one that makes them ‘super-powered’ is exempt. Tony’s arc reactor was originally a medical prosthetic for his heart, and he never revealed publicly that he no longer needed it by the point of Civil War. Tony was pressuring Steve to sign a document that would bind his hands while Tony’s remained unchained, and the Accords would bring Zola’s ultimate goal to fruition, that freedom is sacrificed for security. Of course Steve Rogers would be dickishly stubborn about not signing the Accords.

    Remember that problem Antman hat with that tank? It was in the end just a tank miniature with the weight of a tank when you follow the way the technology worked. That problem goes both ways. When Antman grew big he would have been blown over. He was big as a giant, but only about 100kg in weight. Try balancing a long stick in the air when it's mildly windy.Possible, but still hard to hold completly still. That has about 1% of the surface area he had :) If there would have been a turbine blowing anywhere near, then antman would have been sticking against the next wall without any chance of getting of it when still this big.
    Antman is visually cool, but fucks over his own rules of reality and laws of physics when ever he can.

      The reason why Zemo fell flat to a lot of people is because he wasn't the two versions of Zemo from the comics at all. And I actually read a comic story where Zemo is trying to use Bucky's past against him and ruin his reputation. That story was post-civil war when Bucky was Captain America.

    1. Half of the Avengers are fugitives of the law

    Yeah no offense but the motivations were horrible in Civil War.
    Iron Man: "You killed my parents!"
    Bucky: "I was brainwashed by Hyrdra!"
    Iron Man: "Oh yeah, sorry... I really hate those guys."
    Bucky: "Yeah me too they stole my life."
    Iron Man: "I can't believe I was about to fight you! Could you imagine if I went completely out of character and acted on pure rage with no thought or reason, throwing aside all my intellectual prowess and logical thinking skills because I really wanted someone to blame for my dead parents suddenly? How crazy would that be?"
    Bucky: "That *would* be crazy!"

    • @DavidRodriguez-ux5ye
      @DavidRodriguez-ux5ye 8 років тому +1

      Yes and no as you said the motivation for iron man was out of character but that was because of the fact that they didn't work in that relationship before or the impact of the lack of parents to Tony in a normal person yeah I think it is pretty possible that they would lose control but Tony well he isn't a normal person

    • @joelknowl2677
      @joelknowl2677 8 років тому +7

      David Rodriguez Yeah I mean Thor or even Captain America are pretty emotional community-focused people. They had really strong ties to close friends and family, and if Thor's dad died or Cap's friend died, I would expect thoughtless rage. Iron Man's relationship with his parents was long over and ended in tragedy, he didn't even know they were murdered, and he's a *MASSIVE INTELLECTUAL* who probably would understand the concept of brainwashing and forgive Bucky.
      The fight was sooooo forced.

    • @xxxInfernofirexxx
      @xxxInfernofirexxx 8 років тому +38

      Hmm not sure about that if I lost my parents after a heated quarrel in an accident (opening where he explains he wished he said he loved them instead of arguing with them) and finding out that it wasn't an accident and the guy who took them from me was the guy next to me I wouldn't be able to really think rational after seeing that video.
      I mean it was kinda gruesome to watch him kill his parents in this manner punching his father over and over until he was dead then putting the corpse next to his mother and then choke his mother to death.
      Also it didn't help that Captain America knew about it and said nothing all those 3 years while fighting side by side.
      He might be intellectual but he is not really a stable person with a lot of issues regarding family/love life/being an Avenger
      Last thing I would think that Cap would be more chill than Tony don't see him want to kill anybody even the worst scum just my opinion on it.

      I enjoyed both a lot that I saw both in theaters twice. I don't get where all the hate for BvS comes from though. The ultimate edition should have been the final version and it is definitely not as bad as everyone says it was. Plot didn't make sense? Lex wants Superman dead because Lex hates the idea of god since God in his words "save him from dads fist." batman wants Superman dead because of fear. Superman just wants to save people but due to the negative criticism he isn't sure it's worth it anymore.The background plots aren't even that complicated with the Injustice story and Darkseid references. They're super quick and don't destroy the movie at all. It's just a bandwagon thing to hate this movie for whatever reason. They're both great in their respective universes because they fit there so well.

      The difference is Marvel has quite a few movies for most characters and has established their universe. Civil War was based on Avengers 2, which was well received and all around entertaining, BvS was based on Man of Steel which many people say sucked for many different reasons. Also one thing that any fan of either Marvel or DC knows is that Marvel has great heroes but crappy villains, and DC has crappy heroes but great villains, and since these are movies solely about the heroes, gotta go with Marvel.

      The point is that the movie is terribly written. Yeah you're right, he could have just broadcasted the video. Having said that, there is no guarantee that Stark would go on the murder rampage like he did without the way it was revealed. If he saw the video sitting comfortably on a couch, it probably wouldn't have had the same impact. The issue is that the movie was written to be convenient and look like it was happening naturally, and its a joke.

    I know this is an honest trailer but no one died in the airport battle because they weren't trying to kill each other, just subdue. And there are stakes, they're going to have to find some way to get back together to fight Thanos.

      Are you kidding me? You can form your opinion of course, but no way that CW was a bigger disappointment. BvS had so much hype, that when the film released, it was just terrible and disappointing. CW got a lot of hype as well, but a lot more people liked CW. So I think BvS is the bigger disappointment

    • @spencernielsen392

      ***** While it is a tad disappointing that it doesn't look like the events of Captain America: Civil War will have much lasting power moving forward in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: Civil War is by far a better film than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Disregarding the far superior (though still not good) Ultimate Edition, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a narrative catastrophe: the catalyst for the plot is removed from the film, these aren't the characters from the comics, and even in the realm of this new continuity, Batman and Superman are moronic, sadistic hypocrites, Lex Luthor just sucks (made even worse by poor Jesse Eisenberg who is throwing anything and everything to see what sticks), Doomsday is retarded and makes no sense (especially when the film tries so hard to make the world feel real), none of the potentially powerful themes are realized beyond concepts that people mention in passing, and the editing is atrocious (whose idea was it to omit establishing shots, and shoot almost everything in closeup?), they wasted Larry Fong. The fact that you need a 3 hour director's cut to even make it a comprehensible film (aside from the still-confusing third act) is shameful and a reminder that this was a horrible idea to launch a shared universe off of.
      Captain America: Civil War on the other hand is great. The film really speaks for itself, and I actually liked Zemo! I really don't get why people disregard him as another generic Marvel villain. I liked how the story grew smaller and smaller as it went on, until it literally has the two opposing ideologies clash: Grieve vs. Guilt. Even reshot scenes, including the Spider-Man stuff lent itself well, developing Tony Stark's character in that he wants to atone for his sins of feeling responsible for the death of a young man who could change the world for the better. Solid flick, and probably the best film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! My only glaring issue with the film is that Bucky still isn't really a character, and merely a catalyst for the conflict. That's a shame because Sebastian Stan is a fine actor, and the relationship between both men being fishes-out-of-water could be funny, and endearing.

    • @masteroogway190
      @masteroogway190 8 років тому +8

      Don't get me wrong. I thought both films were pretty disappointing. Civil War played it WAY too safe, and BvS took too many risks. One was boring and the other was confusing. I expected BvS to improve on Man of Steel, and in my opinion it did. Civil War was just, meh. Spiderman and Antman were the coolest parts and they didn't even drive the plot forward.

    • @assassinscreedess

      gongsandblazes12 Tumblr's obsession with Steve and Bucky having a romantic and extremely sexual relationship is weird lol I've no quarrel with the friendship that's constantly portrayed in the movies. Bucky is literally Steve's only living connection to his past now that Peggy is gone. As far as the insulting, lol it's the internet, who really cares? Like what do you expect?

    • @gongsandblazes12
      @gongsandblazes12 8 років тому +14

      On the contrary, it is perfectly understandable. Steve and Bucky's relationship is so highly fraught and charged that it generates this kind of discussion and interest. Does that mean two men cannot be friends? Absolutely not but in this situation Steve and Bucky's bond has an erotic dimension (erotic does not only mean sexual). Their friendship generates tension that it subsumes straight platonism into that of sensual significance. Their friendship isn't quite romantic or platonic. It is a synthesis of both that it leads to an apotheosis of them both. Their friendship plainly put transcends the prosaic and that is rare with male friendships or female friendship. That's what Plato was trying to get at in his depiction of the male/male bond. Infact true friendships often have a psycho-romantic dynamic. There is a meeting of mind, body and soul (again this is not sexual).So to chalk what people are picking up on - albeit not having the proper words to express - down to tumblr shipping or fangirl drooling is nonsense imo.

      First of all I ship them because Steve doesn't look at any other person like he does Bucky. Not even Falcon. Falcon and steve are friends. Steve and Tony are friends...Steve and antman, get it. So you might be butthurt but Marvel knows what's up. #stucky
