It was the VIPs for me, obviously the writer barely speaks english, it sounded like he used google translate and they just grabbed some american they saw on the streets
His storyline was the weakest, but he wasn't a standard detective just working a case. He went rogue and was searching for his brother who had mysteriously disappeared into this shady organization.
@@PrivateJoker0119 That's how people from all over the world felt when Hollywood tried to depict them with not even their people, but American actors :D

i wouldn't even bother watching anything until the finals of football tournaments so that part in the show wasn't unrealistic at all, it would've been better though if the vips were shown in the early episodes

Well when you bring in white guys to be the ultimate villains of a game show that takes place in Korea, is run by Koreans, all the contestants are Koreans, and all the actors are Korean, you want to make said white guys cartoonishly evil to elevate them above all the Korean villains of the show who have been responsible for the murder of countless thousands of people. It was a terrible pitch meeting. He just went through all the scenes and the subplot, and never really pointed anything absurb until the end, when it's about how 456 didn't spend any money. It was more of a spoiler review than a funny pitch meeting
"Lots of players die! And also some epileptic viewers at home!" Hahahahahahahahaha Funniest bit in the whole video. Totally unexpected and very intelligently funny.

Binged the show with my cousin. Discussing about it afterwards, he remarked that the show seemed like it started off with just one Writer and they kept adding writers to the show as the Episode progressed till it peaked at the Marbles episode. Then they fired everyone and let the Corporate executives write a generic ending.
It peaked when they all voted to go home. Most of the characters had no reason to go back, especially knowing it was extremely likely that they would die because there can only be one winner. The Squid Game is basically assisted suicide.

The detective story took me out of the game. He really did just murder someone immediately without even questioning them or knowing what was going on.
I don't think killing someone during an investigation is allowed in South Korea or anywhere in the world for that matter. Maybe the squid game series screen writers thought that even if the cop knocked the guy unconscious and took his clothes, some people would still ask why the guy who was knocked unconscious didn't go back to work and report that someone knocked him unconscious and took his clothes.
