Watched your other video I've got a Actron from 2005 before the infamous soft starters came in, don't know why they had to re invent the wheel just stick with good ol contactor IMO. I had heard they have somewhat solved the issues with the soft starters just dying.
Gotta love the old actrons. Those old outdoor boards have a couple of buttons, step and cancel. If you hold the cancel it will skip the on delay timer and start it up if it has a call. Love the vids mate keep em coming

Good honest mistake that didn’t get cut out, respect. Should try your hand on some light commercial breakdowns. Changed a comp in a Hitachi CRAC today, was a 10k job for boys in suits.

Hi Mitch can I ask an unrelated question about an Actron ducted system in a house ive just bought it has two return air ducts one up each end of the house ,Im sure when i first moved in return air was going back up each duct but after a reset of the control board inside house only one return seems to be open now ,do i have to do something to make both work again as i had to set up the zones again also .Cheers Paul
We have a 22 year old Actron ducted unit, still going strong, only thing it has needed is repairing burnt spade terminals on the compressor wiring and replacing the indoor fan deck about 6 years ago
Nice quality video Mitchel, and you did sort out your simple capacitor wiring mistake. What you need is a wide comb brush like Curtis uses for the cobwebs and dirt 👍

Soft starters was added to meet MEPS compliance and to comply with the energy authority regs.
