Nice ductwork! Great to see someone who actually cares about what they do. With the building industry they way it is these days its good to see.
Nice , what kind of unit are u installing ?
Panasonic. I got two installed and need to install a 3rd! ❤
Socket> socket adaptor>150mm extension bar> impact, It gives you just enough angle and puts the impact in the right spot to get it done. You could save some coin or who doesn't like new tools, if you've got the room, I'm running out of space!
@@TOWNOFOX I can’t help myself. I think I’m just trying to find a reason to buy more tools haha.
I'm a nerd and I found this fascinating- excellent detective work
Its good to see techs being thorough! Quality! 🫡
You done well there Mitchel, another busy week for you :)
Hey mate sent you a message on Instagram about work
Mitsubishi electric
It's time to get yourself an apprentice, Mitch!
Well protected electronics on this unit, and it shows on the like-new optics of the old board. They don't do it like this anymore. Also, the simple fact that you could find replacement for the board for such an old system is completely amazing to me. Such old well-made systems need to be cherished and conserved!
Hi sir
AHHH i got so anxious about those hitting the lights lol 😅
Great vid. You say - "It takes out the soft starter...sometimes the capacitor as well" But what does? My similar Actron (2009) is doing the same thing after a new Solar with battery install. The capacitor looks fine but the Emerson Soft starter has fault lights. Did the solar install cause the issue? Cheers
Well Mitch, It's nice that the work keeps rolling in :)
This is great, thanks for sharing Mitch.
Do you ever just do the quote there and then at the persons house?
We were quoted $1800 to replace the Daikin outside main board or a little more for a complete new in/out Daikin unit. I should have done some online checking first because the boards were only $300 to buy online, original Daikin board etc.
Great job but seriously get some torque wrenches!
@@georgelinington1066 thanks mate. I have many torque wrenches for my car and bikes but not for flare nuts. I’m not exactly sure why, maybe I should. In 18 years I’ve had one of my flares leak and it was a quarter flare nut I forgot to tighten when I was a fourth year apprentice. I found it when my vac pump couldn’t pull a vacuum.
@maracservices your works great. They are relatively cheap and honestly takes away guesswork and just makes that one step easier. Totally get the 'by feel' method, but if there are tools to make it easier I'd be grabbing one. Great video.
I'd go with LG mate lol. Good vids too.
@ 1:45 tell me whats wrong with this picture? How about dont install A/C outdoor units right next to the hot air vent of the gas hotwater system? that might just help
In 2009I purchased a Daikin ducted air. It worked for three hours then failed. For the next three months Daikin Australia f..ked me around. Technician after technician tried to get this thing to work. No luck. After three months Daikin Australia finally conceded and replaced the entire unit. Apparently from conversations I’ve had Dainkin Australia hasn’t got any better. Since then it hasn’t missed a beat. You sometimes just get a dud and that happens but Daikin Australia wouldn’t own up. Next time it’s a Samsung or a Panasonic…not because they are better but just because Daikin Australia f..ked me over for three months. Daikin Japan needs to come to Australia and kick some arse.
The quality, porosity of copper pipes is shocking on units which were not made in Japan (but a unit may still show "Made in Japan"!). Ask someone who is familiar with this brand, to distinguish where it was made. Buy only Japanese. Also, many importers buy genuine Japanese units, but those which were constructed and programmed for heating rather than for cooling. Yes, it still works as an AC unit, but... .
Exactly the same fault as mine. Luckily replaced under warranty (not Daiken). Replaced with industrial grade material so it doesn't happen again
The music ruined this video. Wtf
Are we supposed to wear gloves when pressure testing? 22:00 minutes these thin gauge tubes could blow.
Do you inspect the pipe after removal to sus out what the issue could be .. Cracking or poorly made copper that is just porous.. It cant be from pipe rubbing together as there is insulation between them .. ?? Im just curious like that ..
As a 30 year service tech can we just go back to the old style capacitor, contactor, control wire Y,W,G,R,C… A/C systems
Mitch, i suggest use a socket and s/wrench and save your brass....
Angle bit for the impact also works
Ratchet spanners are worth the price!
No torque spanners used?
Hey bro love the install! Where do you get your stickers from and do they last well out in the weather?
So in regards to using surge protection, are you saying to use it on the GPO that connects the daikin indoor unit or somewhere else?
Be interesting to know how far down the line the leak was.
Superb explaining 💯 I am learning lot of things in this video thank you so much dear 🫶🫂✨I am sri lankan young boy i am ac technition sri
Hi mate I am in Sydney and I would like to help you when you need , I am doing a lot of maintenance recently and going to course for licence
Job looks great, but I hate these compact units when they break. Everything will eventually break and trying to repair and service them in a confined area sux.
Can you post how please?
Ive had this happen twice. And im sure it was ttl on the paircoil too. Not totaline? I always thought they were decent.
That garbage lineset insulation causing leaks has cost alot of people time and money
Do you have a part# and weight limit for those wall anchors, i agree, the ones that come with the wall bracket are not usable
We just moved into a rental and the forst thing i checked was all the aircons work. the primary system is an againg mitsushitty g inverter thing thats probably 20 years old. still working but its so old the thermal pipe covering is falling apart. Is there much a normal person can do to check everythings fine? And ballpark how much is it for someone to come check and top one up? Its a rental so i can either wait till winter for the realestste scumbags, or pay myself.
Hey Mitch do you recommend owners of a Daikin ducted system use a Surge protector between the Power point in the roof and the daikin indoor unit?
Not only imported copper is poor quality, white insulation is so bad, deteriorates exposed on the sun,we need more regulation in this industry hopefully again,to control many C2 cowboys in the industry!
Of course when you allowed cheap coper to flood the market, what about crane enfield and kembla aus made ,never had any problem
Can’t believe someone installed air con unit close to HWS🤡
Dont silicon around isolators It will look crap in a year Use the pips and no silicon required
