Underground passage is only true way for a witcher, after all we have drowners there :'D hardest but most fulfilling (especially if you skip Velen completly and run there on 3th level )
10:34 Yet another example of why Geralt is such a great character. That hint of snark as he explains the excessively literal version of how he got there (corpse, key, door), and then also the "thank you" after they let him pass after the fight.
Velen and early Novigrad (searching for Triss) really feel polished and deep in the story and ways to do them. While on other hand later Novigrad and in some of the late main quests (and even sidequests like radovid's assasination) feel "rushed" and the cut content is really felt there.
didn't notice that, but now that you mentioned it, yeah, I agree a bit, not to say everything in novigrad and later is bad, just intro and early game felt better, but still dlcs are by far the best part and you can see that cdpr was having fun (as much as working as a game designer in big corpo can be fun) making it, felt like they did what they felt was good / what they wanted, and not what would sell the best as they did in main game perhaps
I completely agree with the beginning feeling very polished. Defs felt like I had no incentive to stay in skeliga after you finish yens quest (glad I did though, it's like a whole second game out there). With radovids assassination it did feel short but I didn't get the impression it was rushed. Dikstra likely would've done it whether Geralt appears or not
@@SX12C Yeah DLCs are the best, they have the most polish and even more references to the books and Geralt's past than the main game. Also ending Geralt's story in Toussaint feels right, it's much better than ending of Main Story where Geralt is just thrown into Kaer Morhen after the last battle with Eredin and the epilogue [which also had some cut content like Ciri's ice skating or strange script/storyline like Sorceresses not doing anything] - Kaer Morhen is completely empty [except Keira standing outside walls, an oversight], we know nothing about where who went and that melancholic music plays in the background.
@@wearsjorge55 How Djikstra was handled in the final version of that quest is totally not Djikstra-like. In the books and in the game he is way too smart to just confront Geralt, a witcher, in a straight fight using just a couple of thugs. There is a mod that changes the outcome of this mission that allows everyone to live and Djikstra to rule. Fact is W3 was quite rushed at the end of the development cycle and one outside gamedev advisor that used to work there (don't remember his name) was actually stunned how they barely managed to put the game together in such a short timeframe into a playable state just before the release date. [Looking at you, Cyberpunk… didn't work for the second time] No wonder they had to cut a lot of content and simplify the quests/story like the Catriona story, Iorveth story or various quests like the final Eredin battle or Radovid's assasination and some others. Game might be art, but first of all its purpose is to make money for the company which hurts the final polish and detail.
I've played this game for countless of hundred of hours and I had never knew that there was a secret entrance under novigrad LOL this is why I absolutely love this game. There are countless hidden things in this game and I love it
I never followed any thieves or beggars for the entrance to the Putrid Grove, allways used the sewer passage. The looters say it right away, it's not difficult to find and I didn't even think of a different option. Still, fascinating how different people can think of such diverse approaches as 'obvious'. Greetings from Poland.

Another hint of shady behavior is the face of the merchant. He shares it with the Temerian guerilla in White Orchard (the one who flees on horseback) and the guy you (can) rescue from the drowners southeast of the Inn at the Crossroads at that later shows up as a bandit north of Ursten.
This was actually very interesting. In all of my playthroughs I’ve always just went straight to the mind-addled beggar and I only chose to follow the thief one time and that time I followed quietly until he reached the gate so I didn’t know about any of the extra dialogues. I also didn’t know you could actually enter through the sewers like the looters tell you. Amazing how one small part of a quest can be done in so many different ways!
I definitely missed one of The Witcher 2 references in Triss' house. I do remember the Rose of Remembrance but I definitely missed seeing Triss' Witcher 2 outfit just on the floor. The sewer entrance was also news to me. Great video as always!
@@dnegel9546 I don’t think there is, I can’t confirm this because I haven’t ran side by side comparisons for each one but from what I remember it doesn’t change
By the way the sorceress burned at the beggining of the video is if I remember Felicia Cori, whom you might meet in Vergen if you follow Iorverth's path and then later in Loc Muinne, where she is supposed to take her exams from Filippa. You can also buy some herbs from her. I am talking about Witcher 2 here of course :D
The third way from the Sewers also could be found if you listened the dialogue between two thiefs right near the door, on the square. They are talking about the secret pass and the dead friend there. And it will be even the quest option!
You don't get an objective to do that though, not in recent versions of the game anyway. Presumably it was patched because the looters don't actually know where the entrance is, despite talking about it. Unless you're talking about different thieves? I've never been able to find others and I've looked, a lot.
@@IamNeo94 Yea, I've seen how the objective appears. It's just that on some, presumably recent versions of the game, it doesn't appear at all unless you know where it is and go through with it.
And here I was, completely unaware of the sewer entrance. Keep it up, you're the best! Onto the details in Triss' house... It's a shame we can't bring her her Witcher 2's outfit back. Looked much better. And, once you've played the previous game... the wilted, dried up Rose of Remembrance is such a sad detail when you remember what the rose meant. Poor girl. She comments that she kept it as a "warning", I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean. Besides, wasn't the rose supposed to have been used by Philippa to perform everyone's favorite type of magic? But Triss got it back somehow? In fact, the wilting may have been caused by Philippa's spell. Which saves the continuity of the Triss romance, should Geralt go that route. A more general remark on Triss' whereabouts: I still have a hard time buying that, when Ciri was in Novigrad and needed a mage to work on the phylactery, neither Dandelion nor Dudu knew Triss was there too. Before going into hiding she didn't exactly go unnoticed, what with her large house, "cavorting" (quoting Yen) and being famous to anyone acquainted with Temerian politics or the "sorcering" community. And if there's one thing a socialite bard (and former Dijktra's informant) and a doppler merchant are good at, it's certainly hearing rumors about the VIPs in town, yes? So, even if Triss had already gone into hiding, they ought to have known she was there not long before, and trying to reach her couldn't have been more dangerous than dealing with a sadistic crime lord. Now, imagine how straightforward the plot would have been, had Ciri found Triss in Novigrad.
2:21 I don't know if anyone confirmed this already (I'm sorry if someone did and I haven't seen that comment). As a Polish girl, I confirm, what you're saying. That one particular word "kurwa" is a swear word we use generally in Poland on different occasions, from expressing great sadness or anger to great happiness. Or just because, with no intent of expressing anything or meaning (but that's quite rare, I must say). It's very popular here. And works also as a word for "whore". So you got it right completely, thank you :D (And BTW, another great video 💚)
So is basically like "cazzo" in italian; on its own it means "dick" referring to the male genitalia, but we often use it for the same things you just said for kurwa xD
I'm tempted to just do the opposite thing on every quest possible just to see if there are any more interactions hidden in this beautiful masterpiece of a game.
It's amazing how much effort you put into these videos, love the details, love the gameplay recordings, love the dialogues and love the outro as the cherry on top 💕
These details missed videos are awesome. Even though I have played through twice xLetalis just keeping coming up with new things I have never seen. Gives me the same awesome feeling and nostalgia I got from playing the game.
At the quest where you have to travel to Skellige to fight the Hunt (after you have gathered everyone), at the point where you have to get to the ship to set sail, one of the sailors upon the ship will say "Why is there never enough rum?", referencing of course to Pirates of the Carribean.
There is a secret dialogue in toussaint. During the quest 'big feet to fill' you need to go and find all 5 workers. However if you visit the workers at plegmund bridge before the quest step, instead of it completing. You can actually get into a fist fight with one of the workers.
Im still surprise that i just found theres still new content about witcher 3 in 2022 , im in love with the game since 2022 and i cant even finish it because its so good
About those times when the quest giver will agree to any amount of money you name, which should make you start being suspecious - there is a bard in Toussaint who wants you to find the local barber. He sure agrees to pay you any sum, but in the end you'll find out that he never had those money and was planning to pay you in installments during the following year. The barber will pay you instead, though, but still
I honestly thought that the sewer entrance is just a myth😂. Btw, you may have said it in another video but i remember that when you were talking about the meiersdorf family (the halfling one), you said you wonder if doing this quest after saving rico! changes something, and im just doing this quest. Rico is standing there still beaten up and geralt said something about him but the father doesn't acknowledge that rico is back(seems kinda broken to me). Also this may be a well known fact that i just didnt notice before but i still find it inreresting
You know what warms my heart? New videos by xLetalis. You know what warms my heart even more? The fact that, unlike some shady bloggers, xLetalis never deletes comments
I think I found two little secrets: on the gate to toussaint you can sometims hear the palestina song, which is made by an medieval german writer walter of the vogelweide. The second is in Toussaint you can find on a board a message from le patallion which says that an other poet, a johann Wolfgang from weimar is a lieer. A clear reference to johann Wolfgang of Goethe, the famoest german writer.
Never knew the palestina song was in there (just heard "Tutos floreo") have to check it out next playthrough. You mean with "gate" right the area at the beginning of BoW where Gerald arrives with the knights?
@@oliver.n278 I meant the entrance to beauclair. When you teleporte to the metinna gate you can hear a musician and sometimes (not always) he plays the palestina song.
I didnt know about being able to scare the 2 different groups of thiefs by drawing your sword and the big one is I have never seen any of following the blue thief! I cant believe it since I have played this so much lol.
You can also Jump and run your way in, over the rooftops. Is a bit tricky to start, because you have to go over a market tarp. But I have not reserched that option
Huh, in all my playthroughs I never actually once went to Putrid Grove through the sewers despite hearing that dialogue. Really should try that approach next time I play through the game.
You can also haggle for the maximum amount in the B&W quest, "Big Game Hunter," but surprisingly it isn't because of any sketchiness. The Count is just a rich, stand up guy.
For some reason I used to lost the thief most of my playthroughs and only managed to followed him once or twice. Didn't even know about the ambush. I have to say, that's a lot of stuff to be able to find the Putrid Grove, sure it's a main quest and it's normal to be more fleshed out but still.
It's spooky that every time I wondered about something about the game, I suddenly come across your video with the answer. I was wondering about the sewer entrance just the other day. I never found it... now I know! Thank you!
Wow that's so much fun....the ambush thing....I usually keep a safe distance. And the sewer entrance is worth a shot too. BTW fun fact. ...The King of Beggars is based on a real person or persons in 17th Century Paris.....he ruled the Parisian underworld. The Court of Miracles they called it.....sounds better than the Putrid Grove.
If you want to join the addled one up on his perch, you have to take a good long run and Jump, from the square side, Geralt will grab ahold of the ledge. - Nice view. Pity you can't sit with him
I was experimenting on parkouring in the roofs of Novigrad. I think I found a way to get in Putrid Grove through the roof that's seemingly put there by the developers. on the north side of the compound you can found a scalable cart, right next to some tents that will take you you to the scaffolding where some NPCs are fixing up the structure. Follow the scaffolding, that will take you on top of a courtyard where bandit are waiting for an ambush, following some scaffolding on the left you can finally find yourself on the roof then its just a matter of jumping roof to roof until you're on top of Putrid grove and decent from there. I've not tried this while on the mission itself though, can't find the save to test it out yet.
There is another way to get into the putrid grove! I found it on my recent playthrough a few days ago: If you walk onto the square where Hattori is going to be later (I think it's that one), there are two thugs who talk about entering the Hideout. They say the password and also mention the way through the sewers. They also talk about how they don't like the gatekeeper for his weird passwords and prefer the sewer entrance. If you listen all the way through their conversation (with witcher senses, preferably) the other options will disappear and you get the objective to enter the grove through either way.
It's so funny how the moment you said charodeiki I knew you were Bulgarian, and then ofc you confirmed it haha, great to see a fellow Bulgarian having an amazing channel with such growth! I enjoyed the video, keep it up!
10:05 An additional note here, the key isnt just disappearing after the quest, it is also unavailable before the quest, leaving a very narrow chance of opening these doors, I was very disappointed in my last playthrough xD
So I've never had to wait a day after speaking to the addled begger. If you ask him about being addled and then immediately ask where the grove is he will just tell you to ask him again, and you can do so immediately. Great video as always.
Excellent video, did not know about the sword draw parts. But damn Felicia Cori and Chapelle the doppler's burning always gets me. Cori was so enthusiastic in the Witcher 2 and Chapelle's story is a Witcher book favourite
Great video as usual 👏🏼. One thing I noticed in this game: there is a lot of exact npc faces, and thats a bit weird for a game that care so much about details.
Did you know the family you find while following the luberkin , by going to see the crones 1st & then killing she who know’s geralt will tell the guy he’s seen anna & the marks before.
hello, hope you're not feeling overwhelmed with my comments D: few details in fist fights: -additional dialogue with sergant if Baron is still in his 'house' - there are 4 different outcomes in fight with Fishgulper in Velen ( 1. if you decided to throw the fight and actually did it 2. when you decided to throw the fight but won 3. when you refused and lost 4. when you refused and won) It is the same schemat with Georgus Georg in Novigrad and Valgard in Skellige - also if you refuse to throw fight with Georg in Novigrad then you will be attacked on the fish market by bandits who shouts something about mr claytop - additional dialogue with Grim in Skellige if you already saved Folan from the trolls - last fights in Velen and Novigrad (the "champion title" lets say) have different dialogues if you are already champion in other place. For example: fight with sergeant in velen has different dialogue if you are alrady champion of novigrad, champion of skellige or champion of both novigrad and skellige, same with novigrad last fight, but sadly in skellige it does not work like that also few other things: - in Skellige most wanted quest there are actually 3 different dialogues about Godlings you have helped (if you helped Johnny with his voice, if you allowed Sara to stay in house, or did both things) - this is really small but i'll still mention it - after having erotic adventure with Syanna there are 2 dialogue options. First is something like "i hope this fairy tale will end well", if ypu choose thos option she will reffer to it at the end of your visit in her cell in prison (she will say something like "oh so you were telling the true with the good ending of this fairy tale"). Obviously if you clicked 2nd option the dialogue in prison will be a bit different
hey, thank you once again for the wonderful comment :) I'll definitely be looking into some of these things. And I have thought about making a video about losing fights in various ways... Also I've never noticed the Syanna dialogue, I think I've only slept with her during one of the "bad" endings
Kurwą is used like punctuation in Polish, believe me😂the second word might be 'to', Polish for 'are'. The inscriptions complement the sketches of a naked woman on a broom and... a mushroom and a lotus flower rather nicely.
Holy.. they make the following thief option too damn obvious and easy that I had never really tried other ways in my many play throughs... Wow.. they went out to make so much branching for this quest it's is really ridiculous... and they all have dialogues! I wonder how many players really got to the ambush or the sewers ..
I don't find so much good videos, like before on YT. But everytime when xLetalis comes up with new details, (I dont't know how he do that everytime..) it's like a new witcher story. I know some of the details, but mostly I get suprised... "What this path is possible...??"... F.e. second thief. Thank you xLetalis. 👍
Hey xLetalis, did you know that in the quest to get Frigilla from the Emperor's ship you can approach the ship on a boat and when you are spotted Geralt yells something like "Wait Parley Parley!" Also I dont remember if i told you this or not but you can actually complete the quest to get Margarita out of Deireadh stealthily with the help of Zoltan and you get different dialogue from him if you do. Just always use walk and keep to the edges as far away from the sleeping drunken guards.
If I remember correctly, you can just finish the conversation with the beggar sitting up there after one dialog option and then ask him again immediately after, and he will tell you, where to go. Was a long time ago I encountered this, so no guarantee that it is like I described
One thing I forgot to mention is that the secret entrance is also a way to enter the Putrid Grove without getting disarmed at the gate.
I never knew about the Glory Gate sewer entrance. Wow!
If I start a new game+ will I be able to keep all my items and level and would the story reset?
@@SignusSig yes, except a few story items that get removed. You keep all your armor, weapons, levels and most other items. You lose all gwent cards.

Rico is standing there still beaten up and geralt said something about him but the father doesn't acknowledge that rico is back(seems kinda broken to me). Also this may be a well known fact that i just didnt notice before but i still find it inreresting
or at least i think its him, im not so sure now😂😂
Loved the video so much this time, keep them coming 😍
You know what warms my heart? New videos by xLetalis. You know what warms my heart even more? The fact that, unlike some shady bloggers, xLetalis never deletes comments
And comments like yours warm mine
Thanks! Never would have thought about getting in through the Sewers or allowing to be spotted.
I knew all the other ways except for the sewer entrance. Gotta try that one. Thanx!!
my pleasure ;]
@@alexandereichenschild102 Ah there :) Thanks.
Hey xLetalis,
I enjoyed watching the video it was quite relaxing. I hope you are doing well on the other side and I appreciate these videos.
Take care
Damn XLetalis keeps surprising us, I never seen half of the stuff in this video ever!
Between the disabled beggar & the addled beggar, their dialogues have me LAUGHING 🤣
For some reason I used to lost the thief most of my playthroughs and only managed to followed him once or twice. Didn't even know about the ambush.
I have to say, that's a lot of stuff to be able to find the Putrid Grove, sure it's a main quest and it's normal to be more fleshed out but still.
11:10 what a polite gentleman
Nearly a 15 minute long video again, you are definetely a legend!
07:40 - This is the best ever dialogue in the history of the world, need to find me a freak!
The Court of Miracles they called it.....sounds better than the Putrid Grove.
interesting!
If you want to join the addled one up on his perch, you have to take a good long run and Jump, from the square side, Geralt will grab ahold of the ledge. - Nice view. Pity you can't sit with him
God damn, hearing xLetalis say "kurwa" was not what I expected out of my evening
Never mind, found a save while on the mission, I've successfully gotten into Putrid Grove, but it doesn't spawn in Triss and King of Beggars yet.
11:02 that's one of the funniest finishing blows I've seen holy shit xD
There is another way to get into the putrid grove! I found it on my recent playthrough a few days ago: If you walk onto the square where Hattori is going to be later (I think it's that one), there are two thugs who talk about entering the Hideout. They say the password and also mention the way through the sewers. They also talk about how they don't like the gatekeeper for his weird passwords and prefer the sewer entrance. If you listen all the way through their conversation (with witcher senses, preferably) the other options will disappear and you get the objective to enter the grove through either way.
Oh that's nice, does it actually show the sewer entrance on your map in that case?
It's so funny how the moment you said charodeiki I knew you were Bulgarian, and then ofc you confirmed it haha, great to see a fellow Bulgarian having an amazing channel with such growth! I enjoyed the video, keep it up!
10:05 An additional note here, the key isnt just disappearing after the quest, it is also unavailable before the quest, leaving a very narrow chance of opening these doors, I was very disappointed in my last playthrough xD
Interesting, since the quest is one of the first things you normally see in Novigrad I didn't think to try going there earlier!
One thing I noticed in this game: there is a lot of exact npc faces, and thats a bit weird for a game that care so much about details.
yeah, probably due to the not-so-high budget
I like those hints at traps and ambushes! Thanks man!
xLetalis is the most dedicated Witcher 3 player.
Somehow in all my years, the Menge speech was what I missed.
yeah it is easy to miss ;]
Can't wait for the remaster to release so I can replay this game all the way through again!!
Great as always
Top tier video, thanks Xletalis.
Did you know the family you find while following the luberkin , by going to see the crones 1st & then killing she who know’s geralt will tell the guy he’s seen anna & the marks before.
I do, but I don't think I've mentioned in a video before
@@xLetalis you should do it. 😬
I don't care about the hater, I love my Triss...
Both Triss and Yen are good choices for Geralt. It’s fine to love Triss, as long as you don’t hate those who love Yennefer instead.
All the hours and play-throughs and I had no idea about the secret entrance with the gate.
hello, hope you're not feeling overwhelmed with my comments D:
few details in fist fights:
-additional dialogue with sergant if Baron is still in his 'house'
- there are 4 different outcomes in fight with Fishgulper in Velen (
1. if you decided to throw the fight and actually did it
2. when you decided to throw the fight but won
3. when you refused and lost
4. when you refused and won)
It is the same schemat with Georgus Georg in Novigrad and Valgard in Skellige
- also if you refuse to throw fight with Georg in Novigrad then you will be attacked on the fish market by bandits who shouts something about mr claytop
- additional dialogue with Grim in Skellige if you already saved Folan from the trolls
- last fights in Velen and Novigrad (the "champion title" lets say) have different dialogues if you are already champion in other place. For example: fight with sergeant in velen has different dialogue if you are alrady champion of novigrad, champion of skellige or champion of both novigrad and skellige, same with novigrad last fight, but sadly in skellige it does not work like that
also few other things:
- in Skellige most wanted quest there are actually 3 different dialogues about Godlings you have helped (if you helped Johnny with his voice, if you allowed Sara to stay in house, or did both things)
- this is really small but i'll still mention it - after having erotic adventure with Syanna there are 2 dialogue options.
FINALLY! more novigrad stuff love it
Love alternative pathways. On my second play through is the sewer entrance.
I see Triss. I click.
I just discovered the entrance after years of playing that means just one thing 🤪 another walkthrough
- How many missed details do you want to find in Witcher 3 ?
- Yes
0:56 Geralt out here doing the gangnam style dance 💀
Kurwą is used like punctuation in Polish, believe me😂the second word might be 'to', Polish for 'are'. The inscriptions complement the sketches of a naked woman on a broom and... a mushroom and a lotus flower rather nicely.
"to" makes sense!
Ha! Yen giving Geralt the evil side eye at the end
Holy.. they make the following thief option too damn obvious and easy that I had never really tried other ways in my many play throughs... Wow.. they went out to make so much branching for this quest it's is really ridiculous... and they all have dialogues! I wonder how many players really got to the ambush or the sewers ..
Not sure how many people caught it, if any. But that kiss with Triss at the end credits was golden. Got a solid laugh out of that one. Thanks 🤣
Funny that. I never entered through the sewers. I will next time. Great video, as always😊
The "hands on hips" pose in combat is hilarious
Thanks for another great upload. It’s so relaxing 😌!
Never knew there was any other way to the putrid grove other than following the thief... Wow.
I have approached on a boat but the stealthy dialogue is something I've been told a few times but never done yet! I should do it soon
@@xLetalis lol probably was me i now see in my comment history i said that 3 or 4 other times lol sorry for the spam. thanks for the response!
@@yairsofer8933 might have been you :)
How do you get Zoltan to help you? He always says he won't
@@yongo1304 you have to not help Triss save the mages so the witch Hunters keep hunting them instead of the non Humans
2:20 your pronunciation of these words is beautiful (I am Pole)
thank you :)
Great post , thank you
my pleasure
This is what I expected from cyberpunk 4-5 ways to do a quest depending on stats. This was my biggest let down not the bugs or crashes.
„Boring outro“? It´s kinda iconic xD
I WANNA PLAY THIS GAME FOR THE FIRST TIMEEE (i played like 10 times dlcs included)
Was just thinking will xLetalis will release another video😁
That outro thou!😄
Next video: 9 details you missed in 'xLetalis Details you missed' videos
Another instance of a no-haggle deal is Le Papillon in the quest Of Sheers and A Witcher I Sing. Similarly, he doesn’t expect to ever have to pay.
If I remember correctly, you can just finish the conversation with the beggar sitting up there after one dialog option and then ask him again immediately after, and he will tell you, where to go. Was a long time ago I encountered this, so no guarantee that it is like I described
I never knew about the secret entrance to the Putrid Grove. Guess it's time for another playthrough..
