Thanks for focusing more on how to use it - ease of operation is really important and it sounds like walrus did a great job designing a pedal with a bevy of sounds that are easy to access/save. Switches+knobs=always a good idea.
Great demo Don, the quality of the fx in the M1 are outstanding , people will always find something to moan about, no flanger can’t mix 2presets geeeez such a difficult world for pedal makers
I really, really want to love this pedal and I already own the D1 and the R1 which I do absolutely love but if there’s one major thing I wish this pedal has was the ability to save a preset that uses 2 effects at the same time like phase and chorus. If they can make that happen in a future firmware update, this pedal will be the king of modulation!
A well thought out pedal and can do it all yet there are other nirvana sounding pedals out there ! I like a lush Flanger sound with a Warble modulation with stunning highs using a high quality audio engine , a rebuilt modified stereo Electric Mistress is my cup of nirvana ! I must be looking for a Dusenburg copy of the best flangers made i think !
This pedal does away with the need for the Julianna, correct? It has MIDI as well as stereo chorus and vibrato. Is there anything the Julianna can do that the M1 can't? Also, I really wish that that PRS 513 were cheaper! I want one, but I'm a keyboardist and my guitar chops can't justify the purchase. Oh, well. I'll pick up a Custom 24 someday.
Hi and thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe. Happy New Year. Great pedal, really feature rich. Holding the tap/skip button ramps between the fast and slow settings under Rotary, that's a certain. However since the manual hasn't been released, I don't know if that function time is user configurable. We'll know more as the pedal is closer to release. Since it's MIDI controllable, might be available via CC message. Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! Hi, Krashulka. Impulse Responses aren't typically used for modulation effects. This pedal is using DSP to create classic modulation sounds, as well as the ability to dial in some effects you probably haven't heard before. There is a USB port so that future updates can be done to the pedal. Thanks for your interest! Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320, charlie_davis@sweetwater.com
Hello, Rolando! Yes, the Mako Series M1 does indeed have true bypass switching. Thanks for the interest! Cody Kraus, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1766, cody_kraus@sweetwater.com
Sounds like it lacks in thickness and really flat. I wouldn't say dull, but it just doesn't seem to have any real fatness to it. I can also hear a bit of nasty distortion. Therefore, I'm assuming it's digital. For $350 ? Hard pass..
@@aspergersftw7927 - If you're referring to using the drive to decrease any apparent distortion, I'm pretty sure that would just make the pedal sound even more thin.
Videos are not very good representations to actually running the pedal. I got a flint because I liked the harmonic tremelo in videos. I like the tube tremelo better now that I have it
There’s so much on this pedal that I would never use. It’s cool but it’s bloated if that’s the right word. I just use a phaser pedal and turn up the rate to make a pseudo rotary sound. It doesn’t ping pong, but I’m cool. I’ll pass. ✌️😐
Give your tone some teeth with the Walrus Audio Mako Series 1! 🦈 Which mode is your favorite?
Demos with folks tha really know the products and can play! Way to go Don.

Don really does one of the best demos on the interweb. Loved his Atreides demo
Man, Sweetwater has quite the staff with Folks like Don, Mitch, and Nick.
Sounds incredible!
The biggest point so took from this demo is that Don Carr is a hell of a good guitar player!
Great demo Don, the quality of the fx in the M1 are outstanding , people will always find something to moan about, no flanger can’t mix 2presets geeeez such a difficult world for pedal makers
Don, what shampoo do you use?
I’m more interested in the conditioner he uses.

No flanger though?

Unlike other multi mod pedals the vibe seems to be usable
Do you have a video on using a midi foot-controller with these sorts of pedals?
Oh man…. Time to start selling off things. I have the R1 and it’s some next level reverb. It doesn’t work in my effects loop for some reason though🧐

I think Charlie Christian used one of these, if I'm not mistaken 🤔
Don and Walrus Audio magical and enjoyable 👍 play the M1 today
And I just bought a modulation pedal last week :(
Can you adjust the ramp time of the rotory speed?

Does that PRS have a full rosewood neck?
Yes it does!
Thanks,
DC
I noticed the usb plug on it, Is this pedal using IR samples ?

i will pass sounds great but i still love my Line 6 M9
You must like shrillness. I had one of those.. an awful box full of thin digital crap effects. Couldn't wait to get rid of it.
Just realized it’s called Mako cus its a Sharc processor 😂

It has a drive control for the effects, you can turn the drive down if you want
