holy moly editor coming in clutch, i needed some good content to download before i head into the wage cage.
I wish these games would stop forcing you to build walls and housing components prior to placing it. It should always be direct material to placement. Requiring so many sub components for crafts has another side effect of forcing you to be inside of the game menu the majority of the game instead of actually playing.

Talked to a few people that played this, and I'll probably play it myself at some point when it comes out. Really this video is just the basics. Apparently a lot of work went into the npc's and such. Late game almost sounds a bit like a tribal version of factorio/sims combined with an open world survival game. Basically a lot of setting things up so that npc's will do the work for you, and apparently the AI is fairly decent and doesn't fail a bunch like some other games. So I guess a bit like Conan also, if instead of getting production bonuses you could actually set your followers up to gather and craft things themselves. Can't really think of another survival crafter that has gone as deep with the workers. For example you can apparently setup your workers to head to a mine periodically, kill the bad guys on it, mine everything, bring it back to your base, and then smelt it all before they head back out to do it again since the mine has respawned. So just a lot more automation than we have seen on a lot of these games before. Although I'm sure it will all come with it's own problems since especially with pvp it adds all new targets for your enemies and more things that you have to protect.
looks like early game conan exiles. Ive had it on my wishlist for awhile but seeing it play, im sure this can be a fun game once more into development
I just want a survival open world that *really* lend itself into the building part too, like having a shit ton of decor to make a great looking base

You should see this as an upgraded Conan Exiles.
This is obviously a Conan Exiles clone, but I haven't seen anything yet that suggests it's "upgraded".
@@korndogz69 tbf it wouldnt take much to "upgrade" conan exiles, conan exiles had good ideas but completely lacked in depth, this game added skill tress and the crafting is already better in the demo, combat is decent too so all it needs content and variety imo
@@DDracee I downloaded the demo and played it for a few hours. Honestly, the crafting is almost identical to Conan Exiles, BUT I do think the mask aspect to it is an upgrade. I played Conan Exiles for a few months, and yeah it got boring pretty quickly after I'd pretty much explored the whole map. There wasn't much to do after the exploration was done. That's what made me put the controller down on it. Soulmask, I hope, would know that's one of the things that kills Conan Exiles, and they've got a remedy for it. Soulmask would need a more engaging story, and reasons to keep playing to avoid the same trap.
There needs to be interesting things and people to find with activities attached to them in the world. Kind of like how Skyrim did it. It literally took me YEARS before I played Skyrim and actually made it through the story because everywhere I went, there were things pulling me away from the main story.

Just a heads up the early release date got moved up so it will be out on the 31st.
This game gave me idea. All those buffs we get before raids etc. part of them we could acquire by doing some bloody culting rituals. That would be cool to sacrifice one guild member to give other 30 buffs before the raid. And the dead guy could get instead buff "God's fhoosen" the better version of buff. 😂
Yeah sure have that one dude volunteering to be killed in-game and start over, just so that other 30 people can raid, while the other fights crabs at the beach starting over with his new character.
I wonder if height plays a role in game play. Maybe taller characters have longer reach, but the smaller characters have a smaller hit box.
Looks like a fun game, and an amazing job from the creators if this is seriously their first game.

Got over 100 in the beta. Game hard. Game is fun. Combat is 8/10. Cant speak on the pvp.
The pistol being light penetrating is a letdown. And the AR being tan and green. Its like arrowhead refuses to let the color palettes match in this game

As much as I enjoyed crafting survival games over the years, I see a game like this coming out and am instantly like ah fuck not more of this same old shit. Someone creative come up with something more than craft, kill, gather.
This one DOES have NPCs you can automate and bring with you. Very few have NPCs, and most that do have them as nothing more then glorified crafting bench attachments, so it is doing something new.
Poor guy's brain was struggling hard on this one.
