I commented this idea on Flairs video. See if you can beat him to the chase. I have an idea for your next catfish jug line. One definitely need to redo your rigs and make your own noodle lines with a weighted PVC tube for standing your tube up after a bite. Diy your own wire hook setter. Add an air tag or tile GPS to your noodles so you can find and track when it's on the move. It also doubles as a tell when you have a bite. You can even go high class and upgrade the GPS to a ibobber fish finder, temp, depth sonar. Or challenge someone to a DIY jug challenge build and roll up with your high tech noodles you made.
I think your tac might be off on the ignition cycles per revolution. It was reading 2500 at about idle. As far as it “making oil” i had a 30 hp merc 4 stroke, no matter what I did it always made oil. Pretty common issue on smaller 4 strokes from what I understand.
You don't need to lower your motor. Check your trim angle when trimmed down. You may need to adjust the trim down stop location to trim down more. As long as the fin above the water pick up screen is just below the surface when you are on plane at full speed, the issue should be trim angle and weight placement in the boat.
I agree. Trim engine closer to boat. I had a old Procraft boat that wouldn’t stop porpoising. I actually has to wedge transoms to get foot closer. If all else fails…..those ugly whale tails do help stop the porpoising as well.
Went jug fishing a few nights ago caught a 18 a 12 and a few 8+ blues and some channel a total of 20 fish which was are limit for me and my dad here in missouri and for anyone who wants to know i use cutbait
That soft shell turtle is way better eating than the catfish for me Thanks again for another awesome video I really enjoyed it and as always I'm really looking forward to seeing the next video
Great vid Justin. As far as your motor height, cavitation plate should be set at 1” above the bottom of the hull. Since you added the Jack Plate and you now have set back, it can be higher than 1”. Your porpoising is from too much weight in the back vs not enough in the front, just the way it is on small jon boats. As far as gas in the oil, I agree with 2 earlier comments, they are both correct. Leaving gas tank connected when stored in this heat is pushing gas into the engine till is floods the crank case and its true the rings are not fully broke in with how new it is. Small hp 4-strokes are notorious for making oil. Seeing that softshell had my tastebuds wanting a turtle sauce piquant!
The extra offset from the jackplate moves the whole rigs cg back a little too and it also increases the motors ability to lift the bow. I’d agree it would be nice to move weight forward. Typical things would be the trolling battery and fuel but your boats low deck style limits that a lot I bet.
For removing the motor. Get you a come along. A cheap one from harbor freight will do just fine. Throw a line over a tree limb at the tree house and hook to the life eye under the hood. It’ll lift it right off with ease. Or use an a frame ladder straddled over the top of the motor and lift off with a come along.
When taking your motor off get a come along and a heavy rope. Throw the rop up and around a solid tree branch and use the come along to hoist the motor up.
Get you some Catawba worm tree seedlings. In just 3 to four years you can have 100plus worms each tree. I put mine in quart freezer bags like 20 large ones and fill with flour and freeze them. Bream, catfish, crappie jumps on them when nothing else works.
Fuel in the oil could be as easy as changing your spark plugs. If you are getting a misfire it could be forcing fuel pass the rings. Always a good idea to do a spark and compression test first.
Your fishing trips run the gamut from catch and release to full out meat trip. That's what i like about you, along with your variety of species skills. I never know what you'll be fishing for but i know you'll likely be successful. You would be a great guide.
TRIM DOWN BOW DOWN , MOTOR POSITION ON JACKPLATE NOT CAUSING BOW HOP , TRIM MOTOR DOWN IF YOU DONT HAVE POWER TRIM PULL PIN AND MOVE MOTOR TO NEXT HOLE DOWN
Big THANK YOU for sharing your work as always. You should've taken the other half of the team with you again... Looking forward to when the littles are big enough to go as well... Lastly time for you to do a colab with Hanna Barron and actually catch a P.B. catfish
This might be to late but you might need more weigh towards the front of the boat specially things like coolers, batteries and stuff you might just have too much weight at the back of the boat. I had a similar problem and shifting some of the constant weight forward helped a lot
I had same problem with fuel in the oil. My problem was the gas tank diaphragm wasn’t working. Wasn’t getting enough air. Try taking it out of the fuel cap but be careful if you don’t keep it covered outside.
DMFD has a few CCC’s on softshell turtle. I think it’s like anything else, once you clean a couple, it’s like cleaning a catfish. It’s worth a try next time to snag one. Would be good content, LFG vs. SST.
I'm going to take a good guess that Mullet Man knows how to clean a soft shell. Would love to see you two on the water together for a catch clean cook.
Run at wot towards end of break in to seat rings Yamaha outboards have same issue most of the time ppl have trouble with that due to have more time at idle and low rpm’s
Get a hydrofoil fin. Preferably the stingray. It will stop the porpoissing and increase the turning and hole shot dramatically. I had the same kind if thing you have going on.
So I see you have your Googin pack I recently purchased one I have one thing to say about it I carry a 13.8 pound pack and in my opinion for ultimate pond hoppers. The shoulder straps need more padding and need to be raised to the top of the bag more tilts down into the back too much other than that awesome pack can fit tons of gear.
I tried cooking blackened catfish last weekend because of you............holy Santa Claus shit! New favorite way to eat cats. My wife said I can't fry them anymore.
If you’re getting gas in your oil odds are your gas tank isn’t venting right and as the boat sits in the heat it’s pressuring the fuel system and sending gas into the block. Had this problem before. Hope this helps
I believe fish 2 and 5 were channels but still good catch. From what i heard though a flat head is the best eating catfish where they eat live and not dead rotten stuff they are suppose to taste the best. I havent eaten a flatty i dont believe unless it was just served to me already cooked and i didnt know. Me personally like keeping catfish as pets and dont really like the taste of them but a rainbow trout is a cooler fish for sure haha they taste so good.
Motor is not broken in yet. It is blow by from the rings. Run it hard and not at wot for more than 5min straight for the next 3-5 hours and she will break in and be a runner
Its hard to jug on grapevine, even on the weekdays, without someone stealing your jugs or messing with them in general. If anything, you did really well to get back as many jugs as you did.
Lower your Mercury until the Cavitation plate in the Foot, is about 1 inch from the bottom of your boat. Unplug your gas line from the Engine at the end of your day and it'll keep pressure from building up. Gas and oil mixed not good.
Ive caught a bunch of turtles this year one was a 35lb snappier caught a 20 lb blue and few lil flatheads between 3 an 10 lbs its been a slow year for me tho
Have been absolutely loving these past few videos in the crispy collector and the blackened catfish recipe is amazing
Sounds like a challenge accepted. Catch clean cook soft shelled turtle soup recipe or little deep fried nuggs.

Dude that’s way too complicated
I doubt he does that
Don't worry about taking the motor back off. OSG has you on that, and as a joke, don't disconnect some stuff! That was a classic!!
@maruiacancer6 im gonna show some loooove ❤ hope u Will be out fishing soon Buddy!
You need a couple sand bags in the bow to help with the porpoising
I think your tac might be off on the ignition cycles per revolution. It was reading 2500 at about idle. As far as it “making oil” i had a 30 hp merc 4 stroke, no matter what I did it always made oil. Pretty common issue on smaller 4 strokes from what I understand.
LFG!!! Love the videos! You should try catfishing with marshmallows!! I know Lojo did it and it was super interesting and entertaining!

Catch and grease oh yes the catfish fries going to be good
That soft shell turtle is way better eating than the catfish for me
Thanks again for another awesome video I really enjoyed it and as always I'm really looking forward to seeing the next video
I love the jug fishing content. Good stuff!
Great video, jugging is one of my favorite ways to fish. Sounds crazy, but try hotdogs. That’s all we use in Oklahoma. We fill our cooler every time.

Crispy collector videos have been very enjoyable great job LFG ❤❤❤❤

Heck Yeah There LFG. Nicely done. Your are an animal when you comes to fishin...

Raise your trim up to bring bow down when you're up on plane. It'll get rid of the hopping.
TRIM DOWN BOW DOWN , MOTOR POSITION ON JACKPLATE NOT CAUSING BOW HOP , TRIM MOTOR DOWN IF YOU DONT HAVE POWER TRIM PULL PIN AND MOVE MOTOR TO NEXT HOLE DOWN
Great jug run, really enjoyed this video as always.
Big THANK YOU for sharing your work as always. You should've taken the other half of the team with you again...

Tachometer is working yes however unless I’m missing something I don’t believe it’s reading correctly. Shouldn’t be idling at 22-2300rpms
This was such a great video. I've got a little jon boat too and am looking forward to doing some jug line fishing.
The turtle cat combo was a sweet catch
Awesome video. Need to see “OSG in the kitcheeennnnn!!” With some of those cats. Haha
Great Video! Just be careful about doxing yourself when the jugs are in frame!
Copied your jug line design and it works great. Caught me some big ole blues on lake Tawakoni. Love your videos especially the ones with your dad.
Bro I highly suggest trying a catch and cook with soft shell turtle. We eat them a lot here in Louisiana. They are delicious.
This might be to late but you might need more weigh towards the front of the boat specially things like coolers, batteries and stuff you might just have too much weight at the back of the boat. I had a similar problem and shifting some of the constant weight forward helped a lot
Gotta love motorboatin', then droppin' the jugs so you can eat some kitties! 😂
The newer epa plastic fuel tanks don't vent, only let air in. Always unhook mine , no more gas in the oil.
😊 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 fun trip. Awesome job. ~ Texas
I had a jon boat that porpoised, and added a whale tail to cavitation plate .
I had same problem with fuel in the oil. My problem was the gas tank diaphragm wasn’t working. Wasn’t getting enough air. Try taking it out of the fuel cap but be careful if you don’t keep it covered outside.

Wow you ending the jug fishing with the Blues Brothers🐟🐟😂
Soft shell is goood eating man those are perfect size to. UA-cam will show you how to clean and cook them. I am a Florida boy and we eat them alot.
Whoo Hoo Double your fun🎉
What a great haul LFG!👍.
JO JO IN VT 💞
Dearmeat has a recipe from way back👍
JO JO IN VT 💞
Those softshell are really good eating
Love when you do the jug video's!!
Eat that soft shell!! Ask Mullet Man. A small electric jack plate is very affordable.
Awesome video thanks LFG!!!🐟🐟🐟🐟
Run at wot towards end of break in to seat rings Yamaha outboards have same issue most of the time ppl have trouble with that due to have more time at idle and low rpm’s
Enjoy all your content , especially in the crispy collector!
You might want to put trim tabs on
On the hull. It helps alot with the porpoising.
one of the best videos yet!
Get a hydrofoil fin. Preferably the stingray. It will stop the porpoissing and increase the turning and hole shot dramatically. I had the same kind if thing you have going on.
It won't be much longer before bow season starts up I hope we can see one of your new bows that you created
Turtle makes good soup flats makes the best 7 kinds of meat in the Turtle should try if you're able to
Lfg apparently soft shell turtles are yummy. Would like to see a catch clean cook and see what you think about how they taste.
Well as a fisherman you should try the turtle. I never had a soft shell one but I have eaten 100s of snappers yummy!
Them turtles good eatin
ain't no way, unless you da shredder
Turtl catch and cook!!!
So I see you have your Googin pack I recently purchased one I have one thing to say about it I carry a 13.8 pound pack and in my opinion for ultimate pond hoppers. How about an update on your Silverado and how it’s been holding up over the years?
I caught a blue that weighed 9.2 lbs on one of ur design noodles. Didn't do any damage at all to it.
Great video as always LFG.
Nice catch. Never fished with jugs. Might have to try it.
Take some binos with you. nockers really help keep track of them
I tried cooking blackened catfish last weekend because of you............holy Santa Claus shit! New favorite way to eat cats. My wife said I can't fry them anymore.

Man, I wish I could do jug lines here on public lakes. It seems like a great way to get catfish passively
LFG you need to give Flair some tips.. you fill a cooler and he strikes out more often than not.. haha.. Great video from our Millennial Bill Dance 😂
Heyyy those softies are good eatin too
I believe fish 2 and 5 were channels but still good catch. I'm new to your channel,I really enjoyed it, Lake Fork is definitely on my list. Thanks for sharing man!!
Motor is not broken in yet. It is blow by from the rings. Run it hard and not at wot for more than 5min straight for the next 3-5 hours and she will break in and be a runner
Maybe try adding like 50lbs in the front of your boat. I porpoise in my tiller jet when I'm alone and ride real nice with 2 guy on the front.
Turtle soup? I’ve never tried it and would like too. Would be a cool video I
I just got a soft shell turtle river fishing the other day and I was pretty surprised when I reeled it in😂
Its hard to jug on grapevine, even on the weekdays, without someone stealing your jugs or messing with them in general. If anything, you did really well to get back as many jugs as you did.
Grapevine, Lewisville, rayhub, and more, all the local lakes!
Lower your Mercury until the Cavitation plate in the Foot, is about 1 inch from the bottom of your boat.
Unplug your gas line from the Engine at the end of your day and it'll keep pressure from building up. Gas and oil mixed not good.
Do you think heavier duty line and tackle would be a good idea now? Main line and leader stronger test?
As always, great video!
Ive caught a bunch of turtles this year one was a 35lb snappier caught a 20 lb blue and few lil flatheads between 3 an 10 lbs its been a slow year for me tho
You need to set up a come a long hoist to take your engine off and on your handy figure it out
It looks very good
You can't trim down any more when you run? I had a 17 flat bottom with a 90 on it and if I started porpoising I just trimmed down.
You need to help flair on his jug game hahahaha
Great eating
You had me at Juggs
Dude! You are money with the jugs. You need to manufacture them. Juggs by LFG
Hey lFG why don’t you try shifting some weight forward in the boat first maybe the battery to the front. Or some gear up front
Nice video gotta go fishing, thanks again, you say icem down for 12 hrs do u gut them, or just icem down
Good stuff
You should try at least one treble hook. Never failed me. I used two litter jugs of soda with 50lbs line.
Finally in the water. Crispy collection vids are the best from you unless you collaborate with lunkers
I hope you get a new brushless minn kota they recently announced. Would love to hear your take
What do you feel is the better outboard motor a mercury or an Evinrude
You did better on heavy weighing jugs right ?? And free floating ones??
What do you think about gps tags or air tags to help locate those runners ?
Put that cooler towards the front, and a little weight in the front makes a world of difference .
Put a level on the bottom of the boat to the fins on your lower unit level
Ain't you allowed to eat turtles in Texas? Been a good bonus catch and cook if ya ask me.
Lot of work cleaning
@@throwdown613 I guess that's relative on what you think is a lot of work, for dinner and UA-cam views.
LFG
they make hand crank jack plates for John boats
