If it does not recognize your face, for any reason, like a thief, the car may say " Take a Walk on the Wild Side."
It might even call the cops depending on you react, hahaha!!!
HA!HA!HA!
So Nick, you weren’t certain if “she was a he” either!??!??
(For those of you scratching your head, give a listen to Lou Reed’s ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ …)
😜
Where's the Bidet?
The end of Chrysler as we know it.This is a Stellantis vehicle.
Didn't people say it was the end of Chrysler as we know it when they brought out the K-Car? ;)
@@LeeBlaskeI agree, people assume Chrysler has been continuously making muscle cars, but pretty much took a break in the 80’s and 90’s to the point of wondering if they were ever going to make one. Fact is, without the K-car and minivan, You wouldn’t have your Hellcats today.
Waow! This vehicle has everything I do NOT want in a car.
ok, so let me guess, you like smoke, noise and tall suv's ?
ok, so let me guess, you like tofu, censorship and eco-anxiety.

😂😂😂😂😂
I don't care what it is I will never own an electric vehicle. I'm old school all the way!!! I'll drive my old school 69 Charger 500, and continue to enjoy driving a car that doesn't drive me. The sounds, acceleration, the smell of gasoline, and the feel of the road will never grow old. Run 440 forever!!!
Well said Eugene, I am with you all the way.
You need to burn gas to have fun
Cheers
Louis Kats 👍
Ok boomer
What's the point of owning a vehicle that does everything for you? No thanks, l'll take my combustion engine with all it's issues any time and day.
available at your local recycling center
I'll take an old classic muscle car any day of the week over any new car
I’d take both.
You can call it "HAL9000" “I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that,”
Haha! 'I can't do that, Nick'
The Rise of the Machines!!!
The whole video that Nick watched struck me as weird. I couldn’t stand to watch it and I think Nick was very diplomatic in his reaction and comments. One of my friends from high school bought a brand new GTX. Another friend owned a 396/375 Chevelle. An Air Force buddy owned a new, yellow 1969 Road Runner. All amazing! I have owned a low mile Corvette and a Mustang GT. Both of these cars made my legs fell lik rubber when I drove them. I’ll take big rumble and lots of power every time!
Chrysler- here's your bullet.
Owner- Yes it is super fast!!
Insurance company- Your car just communicated you did 145mph.
Good point.
I am with you Nick old school where trust is in your hands not in a machine.
Nick. That's not a car, it's a computer on four wheels and it's electric! for me, NO THANKS! I'll take an asphalt burning rumbling V-8 any day of the week. I'm sure it's very nice and has the "space age technology" but I want to drive, not go for a ride in a computer. I'm just Old School Nick and will NEVER change. Bill Jamison from Linglestown Pennsylvania.
well said Bill.
I remember Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, and Eagle. Back in the early 90's from the commercials!!
A 1982 Civic T-bones it in a snowstorm. It’s totaled !
The Civic owner yanks on the bumper and pulls on the radiator. Drives it home. Next day puts in a rebuilt radiator and off to work 😜
This is a dream car.............NOW WAKE UP!
"Here's George Jetson, his boy Elroy..."🎶🎶 I don't think it's for me. What happens when you hit a pothole in the Winter time or how does a snow turd affect the stability of the steering? Oh, your windshield is cracked? $10,000 please! Big trucks will still be throwing stones.
Interesting stuff. Like Nick mentioned I’d like to see cold weather conditions. Here in Chicago a few weeks back we had -20 degree temperatures and none of the Tesla charging stations were working 👀. I rolled on by in my gasoline engine.
I live in Central New York and we get more snow than anyone East of the Rockies. Lake Effect storm bands can wreck havoc or deteriorating road surfaces can cause accidents. Depending where you are, you can go from flurries to 8 to 10 inches of snow in a matter of a few miles. It takes a real human to know how to negotiate roads up here, some aren't even paved because they would be more dangerous to drive on. Plus, how are you truly shielded from Electromagnetic Radiation emanating from the cars batteries, motors and electric gizmos?
Ish. Send that thing back to the drawing board and give us back the Viper!
Until battery tech gets much much better soon none of this will come to past at all.....Thanks Nick 👍
Old Shoe🇺🇸
I am 73. My first care was a 63 Ford Galaxy 500. Am radio. In between I drove 340 Dusters, A Coronet 440, a few pickups and GM cars. Today I drive a 5.0 Mustang with incredible electronics. I love the past, but look forward to the future. This is not the end of cars, it is a new beginning. Dont cling so strongly to the past it makes you afraid of the future
That's a good attitude to have. Otherwise, we'd still be riding horses. OTOH, there was never any problem getting a horse started in cold weather. ;)
I agree, as much as I appreciate Old School muscle as well as JDM, I always have the fascination on how an electric car can go that fast.
As an electrical engineer I am curious as to its long-term reliability and the cost of maintenance. I share Nick's concern about collision repairs; it will require special tools and fixtures and thus expensive. The creation of a new class of maintenance technicians will be a challenge. It may be too much, too so.
Thanks for sharing!

I like driving, steering, braking, mauual windows, mirrors, watching for problems, paper maps and vent windows. Not to mention floor vents.Thunder Road! Kocan
Love the old ways of driving.
I will stick to old school all day long..
Long live the past!!!
I think an amusement/theme park with vehicles like this would be a gigantic hit!!! But, in real world practicality, a vehicle like this is still YEARS away. It’s gonna take a WHOLE different type of personality, I think, to really embrace it, imho. Nice CONCEPT
We are truly entering dark times when it comes to automobile design
Just like Homer Simpsons car design. DOH!
Malaise Era 2.0
looks like a ton of stuff to break. Thx for the View, Mr Nick!
Hi Nick, In my senior HS year (1962) Pohle Dodge in Burlington, N.J. had one of the turbine cars and I was one of the kids that got to ride in it. They had some sort of Chrysler Promo folks there telling everyone how the turbo was the car of the future. It turned out to be BS then, and I believe it is all hype, again only 61 years later.
Glad you enjoyed my tip on Flex Tube for dialing in the rear carb on a 440-6 Pack. Another thing I did was, drill out the 2 lead plugs on the center carb which then allowed me to use 2 more of those small flex hoses to adjust A/F ratio on the center carb. I got that tip from Chrysler engineering many moon ago. Have a Great Day.
They probably needed a different person pushing it out to us😂.
I miss my dodge Caravan, 283 hp, 130+ mph, a whopper 31mpg highway.
Like to see the price tag. Probably would have the common everyday person priced out of it.
It'll be interesting. Some stuff in EVs, though, is less expensive than gas cars. Electric motors are easier to manufacture than high-tech, high-performance gas engines.
I'm with you on this. Where is the enjoyment of driving if you can't control what you want to do. Do it yourself and make it a real adventure. Not a video game.
Electric cars are no where near the technology that is needed.
Infrastructure in any country is not ready.
For instance, if everyone in Ontario has an electric car and plugs it in at night, no power grid could handle it.
Gas powered cars will be here till the end of man.
Too much tech Nick, takes the human out of the driving experience. Long live old school! We're not vegetarians yet!
What happens when the electric grid shuts down ??
This is a car for the super rich.
Thats what I was thinking to... Some day the common person can buy a new car.. Im sure some of the Tech will filter down into other class of cars ..
Nick ,here in san francisco there are at least 100 self driving taxi cars running around the city for the last 3years. I'm around them everyday, sometimes when I'm walking I've seen 5 driver less cars pass me, but they always stop at stop signs and use there turn signals
Until someone hacks into them wait and see
As long as they are safe, all good.
They already had a few close calls and due to California's laws, you can't ticket a driverless car for malfunctioning. Put them on their own separate Right of Way especially designed for them and then we will talk!!
Can't wait till one of those "smart car" answers a command by " I'm sorry Dave... I'm afraid i can't do that"
What a joke! Just about everything built by Stellantis in garbage and I just can’t see them building anything this advanced that would be reliable and safe. I doubt many of the features would be applicable in one of our Canadian snowstorms and I can’t imagine the repair costs of a fender bender 😮. Another pipe dream of a concept car for sure.
I've NEVER said a single good thing about ANY electric vehicle but I'm absolutely in love with this. I'll always have a gasoline powered car or truck in my driveway but this would be a nice addition to the garage.
Most people couldn't afford the insurance on this car let alone buy it.
My daily driver is a 95 YJ Jeep. The reason is while under powered the 4 cylinder engine is virtually indestructible and has no computer. I can work on it .
A special car is 67 hemi charger. Rebuilt and restored by Nick's garage
Yes !!!!!
No one can fix it, insurance will write it off over a fender bender, software will have bugs, the car won't run if a taillight is out due to manufacturer liability. Landfill queen.
Problem with GM and Ford and Chrysler is they don't have the tech expertise to make it a reality. That car is $175,000 all day.
No mfr has the battery (Cobolt) tech, same as a century ago..
Not to mention quality
I wonder if it will change the flat tire it just got by going down the wrong road .😂I bet my gravel roads would love the bottom side of that car! 😢
The induction charging will fry us just as quickly as an induction cooktop boils water.
Reminds me of the car from the movie "Stealth". Just double checked the movie was "the wrath" came out in 1986.
Buck Rogers called.. He wants his car back..
Yeah, I think i'll just keep my charger. I think we are seeing the end of Dodge and Chrysler.
Same was said when they brought out the K-Car, saved them from bankruptcy and thanks to the nimble little car, you can enjoy your Hellcats today
Nick I agree with you totally on this one, put it to the test in the real world and see how it holds up. What if it decides it don''t recognise the regular driver any more and your in a hurry and its raining then what! Thanks for sharing.
Meet George Jetson...daughter Judy...his boy Elroy...Jane, his wife. Hey Nick, when I grow up I want to be a cartoon.
You've come to the right era😆
Hello, AAA Motorclub, I need a tow, I was out stargazing and my batteries died, I guess my adventure just came to an end...,.😂
I agree about the comments regarding newer vehicles becoming disposable. That goes for EVs as well as gasoline cars. They both have tons of electronic technology these days. Decades from now, after we're gone, you're not going to see any "Will it start and run?" videos on a Chrysler Halcyon, or any modern day gas car that was parked in a field for 30 years after the owner stopped driving it. You're not going to be able to squirt some gas down a carb and turn it over. You'd have to deal with endless electronic flaws, degraded capacitors, corroded connectors, etc., etc., etc. It'll make reviving those cars next to impossible.
A short time ago I watched am interesting Vice Grip Garage episode where Derek tried to get a 1981 Cadillac running and driving (physically, it wasn't in bad shape). He put in a lot of work, and just had to throw in the towel. The electronics, and the way they interfaced with mechanical elements created way too many problems. Finding functioning complex electronics 40+ years after a car was made is going to be difficult. And, even more difficult for today's cars.
Yes, Old School vs New School.
Bring back the hemi. Whos with me?
This is not a car, it’s a transportation device!
Robert, Manny, and Nick ain't fixn' that!
Instead of engineering a complicated vehicle that does everything but "wipe your butt"...
Stay focused on:
Drivers that LIKE to drive,
Simpler designs = more reliability,
Stop force-feeding us electric vehicles
8:18 "Biometric Recognition"? The question is, will my toaster welcome me as well in the future? No. This is nuts. People want this?
Continuous inductive charging would cost trillions of dollars to create. Totally not feasible.
The vehicle is very unique, but that woman is spooky 😮!!!!!
The Wrath, Charlie Sheen. The car he drove was a Chrysler concept.
I have a Console Tv that is 60 years old. I have a car that is 53 years old. I bought a Tablet that lasted almost 2 years and paid more for it than either my car or tv. The Tablet don’t work anymore and both my car and tv still do. This looks like a rolling Tablet to me.
Old school any time! ❤
Love how Nick doesn’t bash it like everyone else. On the contrary, he is interested to understand how the technology works, same with the video he reviewed on the electric Charger, he even considered test driving one.
I'm not a fan of electric vehicles. I'm even less of a fan with this amount of electonics. I would be afraid of the vehicles system being hacked while it is driving around with a person in it. Who is to say someone couldn't easly paint the highway with you just by hacking your ride. We already know how easy it is for thieves to steal mopars. This is a scary concept...
Great content thanks for sharing
Let's give it the old school test. Gear head challenge.
And not to mention all the construction you would have to deal with.
Sounds good and looks good on paper. Attack of the green crusties in Central Canada.
Don't finance your own demise, humanity. Instead, we need 'free-energy' technology, which exists and which we eventually WILL use! I'll have it no other way.
It is a spaceship 🚀🌌
I prefer the old school V8 as long as I live.
I just can't envision Bob Hope doing any advertising for this Chrysler Halcyon.
It’s like the Jetsons! They can keep it!
Can you open the doors when the battery burst into flames, 3000 degree flames while forgetting to stay on the canyon road?
No sir not me.
You can walk to Beverly Doolittles old house from my parents place. Now that place is an AirBnB rental.
Me personally, they should stick with a reboot of the winged cars and keep it gas, not electric maybe a roadrunner of the 71-72 design with not as thick rear to trunk area (rear window pillar area) Hemi powered of course. The Halcyon just looks a lot like those less memroable Lambos and Vectors from the 80's. I'd prefer seomthing Nick could still work on without having him retaught any new crap. They couold also do a little red express and Warlock truck reboot too.
Have a feeling a car that looks like this is going to have both power and handling to go with the autonomous driving. I love it. Welcome to the 21st century!
Who will build the inductive highway upgrades? I am sure it will be affordable.
Here's one to think about: Who's at fault, when a deadly accident happens? Do you agree to be liable for any damages done by this driverless vehicle when you purchase such a car? Or will it be the Chrysler corporation taking full responsibility? Is that something to think about or what!? Cheers. Have a good one. 🙂
“ sorry Dave I don’t recognize you, I can’t let you in”.
50 years from now , all these cars sold today will not be capable of running , electronic modules will fail and be no longer available rendering the car useless .
It's already happening with Polaris atv's , engine control modules for some of the machines 20 years old are unavaiable so you're forced to scrap it , sad ....
and all electronic components made in China, and China is ready to turn off the spigot.
Looks like a lot of pipe dreams there. I doubt that you will see a car with all these features anytime soon. The Boosted Boiz had the right idea with this technology. They bought a lightly wrecked Tesla Plaid, fixed the damage to get it titled, cut off most of the body to set 1/4 mile speed records for Tesla and then put a Honda Odysee minivan body on it for the ultimate sleeper.
Nick, I'd love to see you test drive some of the new, high-performance EVs on the market.
If the car companies let me drive them, I would love to.
If it's electric. No sale. GM and Ford can't sell theirs now.
But if it's a hybrid .. with performance...now that might be interesting.
That looks like a special edition vehicle that would not be affordable and so they would sell only a few, but they want to prove otherwise, so starting price is 60k. Against competition might be desirable.
I like the idea of an EV as a family car plus you get the chance to try something different than conventional cars, like smoothness, different noise and breathtaking acceleration. Then when you want to go for a ride for fun, old v8's are the best.
People always resist change....We piss and moan about gas prices and the now you can commute without gas being a problem.... All the muscle car guys like to look at the old days....A factory stock hemi car was lucky to see the mid 13's with the right driver...Now you can get one that will run in 8's and drive it everyday....I lived thru the 50's and 60's but the cars then are nowhere nearly as fast or safe as they are today....Time marches on if we didn't have progress we would still be driving a T model Ford and I have driven those to and I take my new Ram pickup anyday....
Futuristic style, all the bells & whistles, no thanks, I'll keep my Dakota thank you.
Can't wait to LS Swap it! 😂😂
wonder how its going to enjoy the Canadian winters
Winters are rough and cold.
Im 62 years old and i love driving my 2019 mustang gt perfomance pack 2 becuse im still in charge
3:30 sounds like we're heading left.
Wow. Give me a big-block and a four-speed. Ugh! This car has all of the charm of a Boa constrictor choking down dinner.
Give back the carburetor, points and manual transmission so I can scratch my head when it doesn’t move. Oh wait, I have to do something. It’s called drive a car and maintain it. What great idea, just have to find my keys.
You know Nick you and I have been on this Earth for a long time can you imagine in 65 years for instance what my granddaughter would see from now until another 65 years Jiminy Cricket amazing isn't it Nick
It sure is.
As an Autoglass guy, what a Nightmare. Also, how long before the tech is outdated. Just like a computer, they have a life span beofre it hits the junk yard.
I hate it. I want to be in control of my vehicle. Not the vehicle in control of me!
I noticed Nick mention the feel of the car and the driving experience, and I can relate to that. Sadly though I think they’re building these new concepts for a very different kind of client - the less input the better. I’m with Nick - give me some bumps and some feedback, I’ll enjoy it more.
People don't want to drive a car anymore. They want to drive a video game😖
You don't have to do anything Nick , but work three jobs to pay for it !
Yup....no Beep..Beep...purple horn ...no R/T badges and no big block exhaust note....times are changing....thanks
remember nothing man made ever breaks. right?
That car could be on the matrix
