You guys are crazy! Your prep for texture is above and beyond what most guys I see do. Mucho kudos man.

Thank you! We are not cleaners. The less mess the better and this is a messy job.

Man you guys are artists. Only thing, you go through the arduous process of fixing, smoothing and perfecting those horrible walls, and then you make them orange peel😭anyone that asks for an orange peel finish needs to deported to Antarctica immediately!!

Man very very very ....VEEEEEERY RARE. To find a guy much less a whole crew of finishers who do the job correct . All the talk about “ everyone works different and it will all look the same in the end , is bs ..... there is a right way and wrong way . Or I love the guys who say “ the texture will hide it “ pshhhh a few texture hide stuff but not many and no texture will hide joints with a void ( under filled) or a hump ( overfilled ) . You should have waaaaaaay more subs than this other guy I see who wears a dress but won’t show his texture matches close up and painted . That’s why I work alone man my walls have to be flat flat flat even my butt joints . Every corner has to be nice and tight , light sand even if it looks perfect and dust mop the walls before texture just to get that good bond. I liked your video on the knockdown patch as well man . I personally use a laco tg950 so you can control where it goes and the size of the drops and control how much over lap you get . And with knockdown that overlap is the killer . Your way works good as well . I’m telling you man . You got a good Chanel your not going to be doing drywall much longer once you get that UA-cam money. Also you had to have trained your crew from the ground up .... cause even most pros who homeowners and builders consider the best ever don’t leave that kind of result . I promise 99.9 percent of finishers would not have sanded that after 2 coats and then pulling the 3rd tight . Aaaaaaaaaand the other move that told me you were just as picky was when you resecured the ceiling with screws man ..guys are just to lazy to do it and think
It’s an unnecessary step . But when you think your about to put a lot of extra weight on them ceilings imagine the weight of 1 box of mud or bag of quick set . Now your putting all that on them ceilings ..... crazy man .... sorry for the long comment I just never felt I’d see a true finisher take drywall work as serious as me . Very nice work brother . When you produce a finish like that it can not be topped . That is elite drywall finishing man . That’s why our phone stays ringing even around Christmas’s and holidays when average finishers are slow and recalling customers they ignored . Damn man nice work . Oh I use a tape tech skimming blade , gonna switch to Columbia cause the blade is not sold separately

Thank you! It is hard finding people that actually do care. I’ve been in this trade for 23 years. Since I was 16. I love to make stuff flat and disappear. I’m a finisher more then anything. Appreciate the comment. I have to check out that hopper. I usually use the sharpshooter when doing big patches or multiples but the finger lace works every time. I can match rig lace easy. It just works for me. Have a good weekend. I’ll have more videos up sooon.

Nice video. I have no idea why any customer would ask for a textured finish after all
That hard work getting it smooth

Why spray texture after all that skimming? Much nicer smooth walls and ceilings, and easy to fix a leak or a tape.

They wanted something on the ceiling and walls. We put a light orange peel. Still easy to fix.

Might be a long-shot in asking, but...
Considering picking up a 24" skimming blade and curious on your thoughts on Columbia vs. Level 5. They both seem to get solid reviews, just curious what the main differences are between them.
    Very clean work done!

Use the same process but 18 inch roller. Not 9 inch. Faster he gets it on faster you can wipe with tomahawk.
    Looks good.

I tried the 18 inch but was too much. The bucket we mix it in works good, thank you.

@@finaltouchdrywall look into the purdy "5gal paint bucket " works great. Wish I could post a video or picture comment. I'm doing a highschool right now.. all drywall surfaces get level 5. I've been skimming the same job site a few months now. I purchased the 24, 32,and 40 inch tomahawk for now but want them all
      Lol

What's "hot mud", you mix with warm water?

    • @finaltouchdrywall
      @finaltouchdrywall  3 роки тому

It’s the 20-45-90 minute bag mud you mix with water. It has a heating agent in it for it to set faster. We call it “hot mud” because of that.

What you charge a sq. ft.??? I do level 5 and then spraying is a slam dunk !! I see idiots trying to spray over a half ass popcorn removal and then they try to do knockdown over it. LOL Worst looking crap I have ever seen I said to the homeowner!! Too funny!! More money for me to skim their miserable knockdowns. Nice video. I see you guys are almost as good as me!!! P e A c E!!!!!! Better Built By Beachside Bake Bobby!!

Still see lumps and bumps in walls and ceilings. Contrary to popular beliefs, texture finish doesn't hide bad joints. Natural sunlite is a killer. No primer before texture?
But it's a house, this quality would never fly in commercial work. Keep practicing.
