One question, can one control midi signal or its just a dmx signal thing.. Sorry just learning :D great vid!
It is really to be designed with DMX only. Not entirely sure how to go about midi mapping with it.

He says the cable isn't expensive....I already question his knowledge and never use mic cable, the difference is wire diameter, when you have more than 2 fixtures going the mic cable only can carry so much power, DMX cable Is thick and can handle a 30 fixture connection and not give programming errors. I do refs but ima about to do a video on this
You comment puzzles me. He advised NOT to use mic cables, remember, compared to multi conductor 12AWG cables the we used to have to use with legacy lighting systems, DMX cables are cheap! Just 1 Socapex connector alone was more than 10 DMX cables will cost.
The issue is capacitance of the cable, causing data errors, which also requires a terminator at the end of a run to protect the data packets.
