Man, that look on his face when it started.... bought with his own money, fixed by himself - with dad's help. You know it really doesn't matter if it ever would've worked or not. The memory alone was worth it. Great job young man....
You're a great dad Derrick " i grew up with out a dad those little humans are very fortunate to have a dad like you !!! Blessings to you's all including Jessica 🙏🙏🙏👍❤️ !!!
Bradley's smile win it started was priceless. I remember the first time I got a flathead running when I was 12. And I'm 70 now! Never forgot that feeling of accomplishment.
Derrick your a great teacher you've got lots of patience. My Dad would of pushed me out of the way and said just let me do it . And Bentley , loves hanging with Dad . That's awesome . Thank you for being the man / Father / Husband you are . Great example.
The bad thing is my dad doesn’t know anything about working on shit so at 18 I’m the one pushing him out of the way lol. Not really but he learns a lot from me.
Every time this young man puts up a video, I find myself smiling. He is out there with his father, learning, growing, and spending time making memories. He is a natural. You can see the love this family has for each other every time we are blessed with a glimpse into their world. Thanks for sharing your first purchase and showing us how she runs.
So proud of Bentley for saving his money and finding a “slightly used” cart, then fixing on it. Now he’s invested in it with $ and time and is learning all the systems and physics and logic and problem solving, and so much more. It’s a win when you get kids learning a lot without them even knowing it, while spending time with dad AND having the reward of having fun. A great life lesson, work before pleasure.
A lot of fathers out there can learn a thing or three by watching Derek interact with his little humans. I've had the honor of meeting these little guys and they are some of the best behaved, well spoken/mannered boys I have ever met. My capilator is off to the parental units!
A lot of fathers these days could probably learn vehicle maintenance from his kids lol. I dated a broad who made a complete fool of a dude in front of his kid because he had a flat on his VW and couldn’t figure out how to jack it up and put the spare on, so she pulled over and did it for him 😂
I love Bentley's full explanations and his passion for resurrecting old iron, good job young man. Mom and Dad are doing a fantastic job raising their kids. I noticed that Bently said, "as long as it runs and drives we are good to go". He did not mention needing brakes just like his Dad! Now to get Jessica to help with the interior upgrades.
This makes me miss my grandad. I never had a good relationship with my parents sadly but my mothers father I loved with all my heart. When I could drive myself I would visit him every two weeks. We would build go karts, bird tables, chairs from wood and play darts. Closest thing to a dad I've ever had. This video and the relationship here is a sight to behold. So wholesome, so genuine and I wish you all the best for the future. Your sons will definitely not grow up broken like I am.
What a sense of pride a guy must have felt watching his little humans zipping around the ol' homestead in a go kart they bought and fixed up with just a little help from dear ol' dad! Brings a tear to the eye don't it!
Hey there Vice Grip Garage family, just wanted to express my appreciation to Derek for how you include and teach your family about mechanics and the necessities of life. Especially your attention and love for your boys, they are going to make a pair of fine mechanics if they choose to carry on the Vice Grip Garage legacy. You're one heck of a dad Derek, keep on keepin' on fellers and fellets.
the look on his face when it ran for the first time was priceless. he will cherish these memory’s for the rest of his life. it’s also very cool to see derek teaching him the best a safest way to do everything. i can’t wait till bentley turns 16 and they’re building all kind of madness for them both to drive lol
Nothing better then the sound of pride from the tiny fellers doing their own thing. Then hearing the pride from the feller as he watches son rip around.
The look on Bentley's face when it started was priceless. It was the most surprised and proud "I did it!" moment EVER. The more he does, the more confidence and knowledge he'll gain. AWESOME
With the world being as crazy as it is this gives me a great amount of joy and comfort . It's always good to see a child not staring at a video screen and occupying their time with nonsense great job young man.
Thank you Bentley and Derrick! This brought back so many memories of my youth, learning how to fix/repair the gas powered toys that were broken. I was far better at breaking things, but my pops taught me how to wrench with great patience and encouragement. Not only did it teach me how to think through what wasn't working, but how much more i respected and cared for them when they were running again. Derrick for Dad of the Year!
My parents split when I was 15 . I earned bagging groceries an opportunity to purchase a Sears two seater . It was a memory I will always cherish . Watching your boys brings it back. Thank you!!!
This kid is GOOD!!! He’s great in front of the camera and he’s been listening to his daddy and he’s got his daddy’s knowledge up in his human computer! Great job Bradley!
Bentley is a natural at fixing things and narration of these videos, As a boy I would have been glued to these videos, That is when I was not doing some of the same stuff with my dad, grandfather and uncles. I learned to fix and operate all kinds of things from cars, trucks and tractors to go karts and appliances just hanging around with the guys in my family. Bentley stay close to your family bud, you may not release it yet but you have a special family in today's world. People like us are blessed with awesome families that care for one another and love each other!!
Share this video and let's get this little man some views! I know you have at least one friend who'd enjoy it. I'm really proud of him and his initiative. No way I could get my kids to take on a project of making videos for a channel this seriously.
12 year old me is saying "What a blast!". 70 year old me is saying, "oh my aching back!". Great job by an up and coming mechanic. I bought my first motorcycle at his age using my own money. I started fixing and flipping them and had my first brand spanking new bike when I turned 16.
What a great dad you are derek!!! My dad did the same for me when I was a young and I remember every single moment we had and still have together wrenching together.
Well done Bently, you are becoming a regular gear head. I enjoy watching you and your Father working on your own hot rods. Derek, after a dozen pulls and it firing off, he looked up to you in search of pride and found it. Niceness Sir, wish I could have been the same type of Dad.
Great Job Bently! I used to ride one like that with my cousins and I scraped my butt cheek really bad on some asphalt when we flipped it. Stick a posi axle in it and stay on the Grass. Tell your dad that his grass can grow once you and your brothers are old enough to move out on your own!
Awesome video...loved Bentley sharing his fun with his big brother.....love seeing Dad helping the boys, but, letting the boys do what they can....They will will be fixing all their friends cars and small engines when they get into high school due to the patience and education from the best Father on UA-cam. If only the boys realized how lucky they are to have the parents they have been blessed with.
This was a great video! The boys know their stuff, what a cool project for him to work on and then enjoy the fruit of the labor! I’m beyond impressed, great job Bentley!
It feels so great to be a part of your channel! You keep doing this stuff with your Dad and I’m certain the time will come when we’ll see you wrenching at some really great races on some fantastic cars. You’re becoming a very good mechanic!
Thanks for the ride, Bentley. Brings back some memories. My older brothers had a two-seater, and all their neighborhood buddies had gokarts too, four others. Theirs were home built single seaters. The one my brothers had was a fancier store bought one with a bigger engine, no seat belts or roll bars. I was tearing up and down the alley like a madman giving rides to all the neighbor kids my age, around 5yrs old or younger. I was 5yrs old. I remember having to tuck it into the shed, and hide out in the house, watch cartoons, waiting for the cops to stop looking for me, on several occasions. I think elderly "safety Sally's" were worried and complained to my mother and the police, because it was fast, and I was just a little tike setting on the edge of the seat just to keep the pedal floored. Anywho...with all the nagging from my mother and old neighbors my dad gave in to getting rid of it, selling it. Worst day ever. I was reckless, seen many times with it up on two wheels, a trick I discovered how to do by accident when trying to avoid a pedestrian, but I was able to show off this up on two wheels move repeatedly after that, with a passenger no less...so maybe my mom and old neighbors had a point, but to this day I don't feel anyone was doing me any favor. This was a long time ago, in the way back 1970's, probably before your dad was even born, just guessin', maybe not. I was just a driver. Wish I had it longer so I'd have learned what you're learnin'. Keep having fun, and learning, and I guess be safe too...at least don't scare the old folks.
My brothers and I were very lucky as kids to have a dad that knew how to "make" things. He would bring home piles of steel tubing and plates, then weld them up into a go-kart with whatever parts he could find from scrap yards, neighbors and friends. Slap a lawnmower engine on it, and away we'd go on our 2 acre lot of dry California dirt (LOL). Several go-karts, mini-bikes, etc. All home-made. I learned a ton. Great channel. Thank you Bieri family.
Bentley this is absolutely incredible, keep up the great work! Keep working with Dad and learn as much as you can from him. I'm 52 and I love working with my Dad who is 81 and I learn something new every time.
My heart is aching with joy. My dad was very much like you, competent, patient and loving. This Little Grip is now another awesome thing to look forward to. And Bentley is so well spoken! Thanks Derek and family!
This video and channel are GOLD. The leader and the led and inclusion of the led. I got on this video after helping/teaching my 14 y.o. on his 1987 VHS Camcorder he bought with his own money. We did the tear down, assess, part finding/ordering. No better Dad/Son unifier than machines. Hands down.
This is the best UA-cam video I have ever seen! Father mentors Son is how America became great! More power to this family!!! You guys rock, I wish you were my neighbors. Cheers from Seattle!
You are a good dad. Your son has no idea how lucky he is to have you as his pop. A little heavy on the wrench for the carb bowl but he hasn’t calibrated his arms yet.
Way to go little man, it's so great to see young kids taking an interest in mechanical stuff. Keep it up and you will do awesome things. Good job Dad looks like your raising good boys and good boys turn into great men. It's awesome that you help them so much because with all you do I'm sure your spare time is super limited. Thanks for sharing your family with the world.
Derek, Love these vlogs of your son turning wrenches, and getting things working again! The apple don’t fall far from the tree! I‘I’ll be Dipped! Good Job Bradley!!
Soo good to see a young man doing and learning ! Not sitting in front of a video game !! Parenting done right memories that will last a life time. Be proud of yourself young man !!!!
Great episode Bentley. Love your go cart. With a little bit of spit, polish and a few mechanicals you'll have a great cart. Looking foward to your next episode. Thanks.
It's so cool to see two great kids doing just what kids should be doing and reaping the knowledge from two great parents with boatloads of positive reinforcement and letting them get in there fixing and creating.....
Little grip you are so lucky to have a great Dad and teacher. My Dad got me a homemade kart when I was young. Front end was from an old riding mower. seat was part of an old metal lawn chair, engine was from Grandmas 2 cycle lawn boy. The kids in the neighbor hood and I wore out the lawn boy and i was so excited when Dad brought home a 6 hp Briggs. Clutch would break springs. We would start it up on a gallon paint can and push if off when it started. Ran it in the yard.
Derrick, you are one of the rarest fathers in 2022 to teach your children the passion of mechanics, glad to see Bentley loves your passion for mechanics no matter what power motor it is he loves and you are there to guide him and let him make his mistakes to learn as you have and the main thing buy it with his own hard money and wanting to succeed always have faith in your boys let them learn you are the mentor for them and Jessica always stay solid as a family no matter what.
Excellent video. I love these father and son projects. Letting your kids do the work themselves even when it takes longer is crucial. Having the patience to watch them learn is a sign of great parenting. Thanks for the video. Keep em coming.
I appreciate your descriptions of what's going on, Bentley. I was impressed when you stuck to that pull starting for so long. A lesser man would have just asked dad to do help.
Wow! Great job Bentley, I was literally excited with you when the engine started 😀. Derrick thanks for the family values content, kids truly follow in our footsteps and need our guidance. I think a lot of parents forget that. Best wishes.
That's gonna be a nice cart dude! Can't wait to see how it turns out! You wouldn't believe how much fun it is to watch y'all tearin up dad's yard! Great job!
THIS IS SO AWESOME!!! Very glad to find Little Grip Garage. It's great to see fathers and sons work together on projects of any kind but especially mechanics and building.
Made my day to see the notification this morning that you had a new video up! Good job on reviving the go-kart! Looking forward to seeing the other improvements you are planning.
Your dad is such a great teacher. My dad would have escalated and done it by himself. Great to see you learn and fix stuff yourself at such a young age! I started wrenching when I was 15 and failed A LOT. So keep it up little feller! Much love from Germany.
Congratulations, Bentley and Bradley, you boys have hit it out of the park with this Little Grip Channel. It' great that your mom and dad are so supportive and willing to help you learn the true values in life. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your learning adventures. The Vice Grip Channels are among the best on You Tube,
Fan for life just like your dad! Way to go dude. You’re gonna be a UA-cam sensation. Derrick. You’re a great man. Wow. Thank you for helping him get started. If it’s ok with you I’m gonna share this to all my friends. Just let me know buddy.
This has filled me with so much nostalgia tonight. I as a child would help my grandad with his classic bikes, now as an adult I have my own bikes to tinker with but still have the same smile when a “junker” kicks back into life. Stick with it little dude, your life will be richer for it. Thank you
Great job Bently! You have a great Teacher, when you get older and life is different you will cherish these memories you are experiencing. The lessons you are being taught will carry on into many other aspects of your life! I always see you pitching in helping your pops on his videos, you're obviously his go to guy and right hand man. You're doing great! Derrick thanks for maybe being an inspiration to young fathers to spend some time with their children, wich is way more rewarding than anything life can offer you! Good job guys!!! I hope you continue to be blessed with success together as a family.
What a great job !! You are a smart young man, learning from your Pop ! I could barely ride a bike when I was your age, and here you are, taking apart go-karts !! I enjoyed this video -- what a thrill when you got thing fired up !! Even your kitty- cat was happy for you !! Love those Centerlines, Derek -- can't wait to see that video !!
Well done, Bentley! Looks to me that with a few more tweaks you should have a solid and reliable runner there. Best part of the video @20:00 the garage reveal! Awesome.
Best way to learn about cars is on go carts and small engines. I got to learn like this when I was a kid. Great to see more kids learning about mechanics. Great channel.
Congratulations Bentley! So excited to see what you decide to do next. I'll be watching for your next video. Your beautiful face when you got that first start was priceless. Made me cry happy tears. Much love to you and your whole amazing family. You are an inspiration. Keep it up!
I had a similar go cart. This is great to watch. If the chain keeps coming off it might be happening because the frame is twisting just a bit as you corner. Mine did that from time to time.
Awesome to see a young person with the want to do something like this ,makes one rethink everything and maybe some new hope for today's youth, good job Derek,
Great job Bentley, you reminded me when I bought my first mini bike and fixed it up. I was about your age, but in the 1970s, after I fixed my mini bike I could outrun all the dinosaurs 🦖 that were around back then 😀
I wish I could do more than "like" this video! Great job Bentley! That's a heck of an accomplishment for a little feller. Keep up the good work, and hope to see more!
Reminds me of my brother and myself.....we shared a mini bike. I'm 58 and he's 63....we still ride together on the UTV to get work done on the ranch. Solid work guys!
Never mind the mechanics, this is a master class in parenting. Mad respect and good work kid.
Exactly 💯
Totally agree with you!
Indeed!
Totally agreed
“So my dad doesn’t like us putting gas in stuff” while he proceeds to spill it all over. Absolutely classic.
Way too much...perfect.
Yeppers, I abhor those so-called safety cans. They are anything but and cause more spills than a traditional can ever did.
That was too funny
The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree - or, in this case, the old gas doesn't spill too far from the fuelmakeithappener.
I was laughing so hard.
@9:28 the pride in Bentley's eyes when that motor fired up, priceless! One hundred thumbs up Bentley! Great Job!!!!
Correction: 162 thumbs up and counting!
@@deanpeterson1006 Right on Dean!!!!

@Jay Pipken sounds like we may be brothers lol. My Dad was the same way. But I learned alot from him.
@@williamivy7117 I did as well , and it's possible. Lol
Yes I reckon you're spot on there brother lol
Yup, would have had my butt kick 3 times, and seen more tools fly then when dad and I worked on the 69' Z28.. oh the 90's..

What kid doesn't love gocarts I'm happy you got it going!

yes, brakes are overrated, they just tend to slow you down.
Brakes are for kids that don't have acres to play on. Just turn and slide. Enjoy
Brakes are a luxury.

A Tonya Harding 500 would be a great birthday gift for his tool chest.
Aside from the entertainment that this channel provides, I like to support the father-son time! Good job Bentley.
Thanks.
hats off to Derek and Jessica these boys are raised right !!!!! such manners and hard workers already it is so nice to see these days
Great tutorial on small engine maintenance. There's nothing better than a parent passing on skills and spending quality time with their kids.
👨👦
Great job Bentley, I think that was a solid purchase. With some time and a little work, it will be a much nicer machine.
Probably be years before he truly realize just how blessed he is to have the Father he has.
Bless you Derek.
Your videos are great Bentley! They make me smile from start to finish. So fun to watch your face light up when she fired off.
Watch out Motor Trend! The Bieri Family is taking over. 😃👍
Well done, Bentley! Looks to me that with a few more tweaks you should have a solid and reliable runner there. Best part of the video @20:00 the garage reveal! Awesome.
You guys are doing a great job! Father and son working together on projects is what it’s all about!!
Best way to learn about cars is on go carts and small engines. I got to learn like this when I was a kid. Great to see more kids learning about mechanics. Great channel.
Great video! Good job getting that kart up and running! I’m excited to see the improvements you make to it in the future!
Man your kids are awesome! I always tell my kids that their relationship is one of the most important ones they will ever have.
Awesome to see a young person with the want to do something like this ,makes one rethink everything and maybe some new hope for today's youth, good job Derek,
This warmed my heart, reminded me so much of the lessons that my dad taught me. Thanks Derek and Bent.
Great job guys! Really like the go-Kart!!
Reminds me of my brother and myself.....we shared a mini bike. I'm 58 and he's 63....we still ride together on the UTV to get work done on the ranch. Solid work guys!
