Same here also! At his age it's best to build things that he can have fun in. Right now it's not as fun building and working on cars because he can't drive them. I've been following for years. This is an awesome channel. This one in VGG
Gotta say I'm happy for Bentley, guy has some real drive. Also to have a Dad that can get you to this level at this age is a rarity in today's world. I'm a little jealous bc I had to teach myself most of what I know and to have that extra hand is a real blessing. Keep it up man, you're the future of an industry that is lacking right now! Can't wait to see where you are in 10 years!
I agree. Me and my biological father always argued. He never taught me anything close to what Bentley knows. Everything I no is by just observing and watching. My mom taught me most of the things I no. She even was the one tht taught me how to drive and when he found out what she let me do, he threw a FIT. Unfortunately I lost her to cancer when I was 26 and he disowned me and my whole family 4yrs later. Soak it all up Bentley, u r VERY wise and know ALOT for a kid ur age. Cherish the memories as much as u can. Congats kiddo!!!
That mower is the same as the last one my Dad bought a few years before he passed away. I would come home every week to help him mow those three acres I grew up on, and I am now so grateful for that time. Your episode here has brought back every one of those memories and I want you, and your Dad, to know how much good even a little lawn mower video can do. It is an honor to watch your family forge those same kinds of bonds on UA-cam, and watch this generational transfer of knowledge, and integrity. What you are doing does matter, just like character....which you are building wholesale, by the way....💯
22:16 I love the description of what you saw. " There was a piece of a stink in there, 20 bits of a leaf, and then an ant crawled out of it." 😂😂😂 Great job as always Bentley. I really enjoyed this episode. You remind me of your pops so much. A guy really likes a fellers content. Keep up the great work.
Great job! A tip from an older feller...those Kohler engines, like most if not all lawn tractor engines, like to have the choke pulled and full throttle to start. Should fire up in a second or so, first time, every time. Once it's running, kill the choke and she's good to go. They also like to be ran at full throttle. Looking forward to the build!
Bentley, you're really hitting your stride. Every episode your skills with a wrench get better and you're getting quite comfortable narrating for the camera. Well done!
True story, my old boss had the same mower in his shop. Sat forever, and the other two fellers couldn't get it going. Got it fired up just like you did here, and she lives to mow again. Great job! Really enjoy your 80's synthwave style intro, too! Perfect.
This young man puts any other example of "Chip off the Old Block" to shame. I hope as he gets deeper into puberty, that his love for cars and his Dad stay strong. Middle School, can really mess with a boy. Girls, and sports and all. Stay strong son, stay strong...
What great feeling when the mower started up! I was smiling right along with you! I am goiing to be watching the racing lawnmower series for sure & for certain.
Dear Derick, You may not be aware of this, but human cloning *IS* illegal. After watching this, I’m gonna need some proof that Jessica was involved in the creation of this young man. Oh Bentley, you are such a source of joy. ❤️
It's kind of funny watching you go through all this. I work on mowers for a living and I can remember being just a little older than you and going through all this same stuff to try and figure it all out. That's one of the best engine series made and it's a shame the Command engines have almost completely gone away.
“Wh-what do you do? Do something”. Hahahaha!! Your humor is really starting to shine and the recent content has been awesome! Keep up the hard work and we’ll keep on watching!!
Those type of cub cadets you have to engage the parking brake and hit the petal and the seat has a kill switch also & to take the hood off there are those wing nuts to remove the whole thing to change the oil filter. Plus that mower is shaft drive into a hydro static transmission
Just found your videos after watching your Dads latest tonight . Wow you should be so proud of yourself confident articulate I was never as confident at your age. Brilliant video and commentary we will now be watching all of your others.
Great job on this one, bud! Yeah, those hydrostatic Cubs *_can,_* in fact, pull wheelies with the right amount of traction. Glad you picked up on that ability - just be careful, because they can throw you off if the front end comes up quicker than you're expecting. Like my dad used to say, "if you're gonna be stupid, be smart about it." 😁
You're definitely getting better. You are showing more of your personality. Don't tell us you don't know What to do next. You do know what to do next. Every time you said that you had a plan and that's great! You do a very good job explaining what you're trying to do. That's what your dad does. We can learn from that.
It ran pretty well considering that you didn't even touch the carb. Great job! You will definitely have to clean it though. You may want to have your dad help. Those carbs are pretty complicated for a small engine carb.
Well done Bentley, can't wait to see you building those racing mower. Now you make sure that mower leaves Longmire and vanishing paint behind buddy. Keep going. . .
I just had one of my riding mowers break that same wire last week. It took me a couple of days to realize what was wrong with it, but I got it fixed. You're doing great!
Bently your trouble shooting is much better than many mechanics I have worked with. I was about your age when my dad couldn't get an old Ariens rototiller started. He was gone for several days and I found the carb plugged up. Cleaned carb and teplaced sparkplug and it ran great. Keep it up and remember to ask those questions. I spent 35 years working on commercial aircrat jet engines for an airline.
Bently, you are a inspiration to everyone in your age group. Keep up the great work. A guy can motivate and entire generation of people to keep mechanics alive..
Good job! A few tips: Those black plastic "T" shaped things under the hood next to the cowl should unscrew to allow the sides to come off. There is another one (I saw) towards the front on the inside. That will allow access to the carb and filter. The foam pre-filter is not necessary unless you plan to mow with it a lot. Another tip. (Unless you think it's cheating), is to look up the make and model of any of these power tools and mowers online and find the owner's manuals and parts manuals etc. Then you can find out what levers and do-dabs do what to where and how. Megatons of info out there. That has helped this 65 year old kid fix a lot of things. LOL Also, on some mowers with hydrostatic drive (like that one) you should engage and disengage the transmission (that little lever on the back) before starting the engine. Don't know if it really matters, but the manuals I've read say to do it that way. I was glad to see it had been disengaged before you drug it all the way back to the barn. It could have ruined the trans. Not sure if they use "hydrostats" in racing or not. I hope these little things help. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to the build.
I just bought a 2518-48 for $200 , had to put drive shaft barrels in it and just got it running today. I'm looking forward to the episode to make it go faster. Thanks and keep those videos coming
Way to go, enjoy your videos as much as your dad'svideos! I remember when these came out and always messed with them when we would go to Lowes. I liked the idea of the transmission being shaft driven. When I was a kid we had a IH cub cadet 149 and my dad would let me drive it around the yard.
I gotta tell you, you are learning such good critical thinking skills doing this. I teach at a university and so many kids going to college can solve problems. You keep this up because it is going to help you more than you can imagine later in life.
Love the videos - keep up the great work - your dad fella has got to be very proud! Would like to restore a cub-cadet myself, thanks for teaching a old feller something!
So awesome to see a youngster not afraid to dig into a project and figure stuff out. I hope there are lots more of his generation who will take inspiration from him and get their hands dirty (and that their parents will let them). Good work, young man!
Came for the tractor rebuild, stayed for the centipede commotion 😂 but seriously, keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing what else you accomplish!
“We’re gonna be drifting this thing in no time!” That's the story! You have your father's optimism. I am looking forward to the next episode. 15 hp! It is going to be a useful rig.
Outstanding. You got that old rig running. Sounds like the carb is going to have to come apart regardless, because of the hunting. That's the brahhhh brahhhh brahhhh brahhhh loping sound it does. It means it's got junk in the carb.
Great job Bentley, the oil.light is on a pressure switch for when the engine is running, it comes on with ignition just to check the bulb, looking forward to these videos ❤
Ohh I would love to see you convert this into a racing Mower! I want to see this do a wheelie even if it is just an inch off the ground. Motorcycle engine!
Great job getting it to fire back up. I always take a few pictures with my phone before I start taking something apart. It’s really helps when it’s time to put it all back together. Lol.
I didn't know Bentley had started doing videos. Just a chip off the old block, I'd say. Dereck's new mini-me. Little fella doing just like dad. Yep, there's usually a seat switch that has to be closed in order for the start function to work. Cheers from eastern TN
Another great job, Bentley. Goes to show how fast something will deteriorate if it's not maintained and left to sit out in the elements! Looking forward to seeing you make it a racing machine!
A guy can really appreciate a little feller making videos and wrenching on stuff. Love it.
True! He is definitely not like most boys his age now-a-days. A little feller's older human is going to be busy busy busy!
He's picking up some Derek's vernacular for sure. It's really great to see this young man learning valuable problem solving skills.
God Bless America!
I know, I about lost it when I heard him say “digicals”.😂 Derek has to be super proud of this kid.
Great job Bentley I can't wait to see this build series way to go.!!!!
definitely taking after the old man...... keep it up Bentley! As a Dad myself, I'd be proud!
I was come in to say the same thing!
Yup
Was about to type the same as well
Same here also! At his age it's best to build things that he can have fun in. Right now it's not as fun building and working on cars because he can't drive them. I've been following for years. This is an awesome channel. This one in VGG
I love your comment so much that I a kid myself 😂❤❤❤❤😂😂😂
Who else got super super happy when that thing fired up for Bentley? Great job kiddo!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅👌👌
You can definitely tell that this young man, has been raised properly.
So nice to see someone his age with interest other than video games. Looking forward to see the finished product

This is so refreshing, a young man interested in something except a play station.
22:16 I love the description of what you saw. " There was a piece of a stink in there, 20 bits of a leaf, and then an ant crawled out of it." 😂😂😂
Great job as always Bentley. I really enjoyed this episode. You remind me of your pops so much. A guy really likes a fellers content. Keep up the great work.

How did this not pop in my feed? Same with Part 2. YT, stop messing with my feed!
GREAT JOB Bentley!

Great idea on the racing mower build series.
Absolutely loving this kiddo. Yep I was pleased it started up. Knocked it out the park Bentley. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧👏👏👏👏👏

"let's face it, I have a history of taking things apart and not knowing how to put them together again". . . . A man has got to know his limitations.
Great kid, going to be on the track someday with Rip, Macfarland!! Keep it up Bentley, you'll be taking over Dad's job , when he retires !
What great feeling when the mower started up! I was smiling right along with you! I am goiing to be watching the racing lawnmower series for sure & for certain.
Dear Derick,
You may not be aware of this, but human cloning *IS* illegal.
After watching this, I’m gonna need some proof that Jessica was involved in the creation of this young man.
Oh Bentley, you are such a source of joy. ❤️
Coming from another feller with the build of a bean pole, I think he gets that from his mother!
Awesome another little grip garage video. You're awesome Bentley.
Makes an old feller feel good watching a young feller take after his Dad and learning life skills. Keep up the good work Bentley.
WTG Bentley! I believe you when you said we'll be drifting in no time. Can hardly wait to see what's next! 🚜
It's kind of funny watching you go through all this. I work on mowers for a living and I can remember being just a little older than you and going through all this same stuff to try and figure it all out.
That's one of the best engine series made and it's a shame the Command engines have almost completely gone away.
Command ain't nothing compared to a Vanguard
“Wh-what do you do? Do something”.
Hahahaha!! Your humor is really starting to shine and the recent content has been awesome!
Keep up the hard work and we’ll keep on watching!!
Aah, that happy feeling when you work on an engine, and it fires!! Good job.
Those type of cub cadets you have to engage the parking brake and hit the petal and the seat has a kill switch also & to take the hood off there are those wing nuts to remove the whole thing to change the oil filter. Plus that mower is shaft drive into a hydro static transmission
How proud your father must be of you! A young guy like you can turn a wrench far better than guys 3 times your age.
Bentley you have done a wonderful job on that lawn mower! You do your mom and dad very well and I'm sure they are very proud 👏
Listening to Bentley’s intro you can tell he has spent Way, way too much time with his Pop, Perfect! Love it!😀
Just found your videos after watching your Dads latest tonight . Wow you should be so proud of yourself confident articulate I was never as confident at your age. Brilliant video and commentary we will now be watching all of your others.

haooy to see you are enjoying yourself so much following in your pa's footsteps. Love your videos.
Awesome timing. I'm picking up an abandoned Cub Cadet mower tomorrow.
"Hit with a hammer 37 times." and "I'm not thirsty". haha Bentley, cracking me up.
It ran pretty well considering that you didn't even touch the carb. Great job! You will definitely have to clean it though. You may want to have your dad help. Those carbs are pretty complicated for a small engine carb.

I really enjoy watching you. You're getting more like your Dad everyday and with every video. We all so proud.
So awesome to see you following in your dad’s footsteps and learning how to fix things that are broken. Good on you and good luck.
Well done Bentley. Good presentation, explains dib dabs etc lol. Yep I agree if you where mind I’d be proud too. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Awesome it’s like watching a younger Derek so enjoyable thank Buddy
Buddy, this is how I started out. Working on junk. Good job. Can’t wait to this ride.
Awesome job Bentley. Gotta love it seeing the young man do his thing with the equipment. 🔧🔧🔧
Your turning into your dad little fella you got than same attitude and sense of humour. Keep going Bentley i have a feeling your going to do well
Bentley, All those hours watching and helping the old man are now paying off. Love the content, keep on going, you're doing great!
Great to see another video.
The oil light is probably oil pressure, not oil level. That will always be lit when the engine isn't running.
Bently, you are a inspiration to everyone in your age group. Keep up the great work. A guy can motivate and entire generation of people to keep mechanics alive..
Great job Bentley!! I am a 75year old Lady and you taught me some things already!! You got this man!! ❤
Good job!

Bentley got fired up when that mower started...just like his Dad does!
Great video! Well done, the way you problem solve is incredible. Very impressed!

You're a great young man!
You have a role model right, wrong, or indeferent
Don't lose focus on that.

Great job keep it up. Enjoy watching your work.
The new property is a gold mine of content for ya young fella good job
Heck yeah! An entire build!!?? Can't wait to see how it turns out!
I didn't know Bentley had started doing videos. Just a chip off the old block, I'd say. Dereck's new mini-me. Little fella doing just like dad. Yep, there's usually a seat switch that has to be closed in order for the start function to work. Cheers from eastern TN
Great job young man! The surging is probably just old bad fuel. Those engines are reliable as it gets! Can’t wait to see the transformation.
Another good video. Keep them coming. Looking forward to the racing mower build.
I love your idea for a series. Always look forward to seeing your videos. Great job.
Another great job, Bentley. Goes to show how fast something will deteriorate if it's not maintained and left to sit out in the elements! Looking forward to seeing you make it a racing machine!
I look forward to the racing lawn mower build! Great job Bentley! Let’s GO!
