Absolutely agree! I am embarrassed to say what I was doing at his age, but it won't be too long before working on cars as a 'backyard mechanic' won't even be a thing anymore and he will witness it early on in his life. (I am 54, so 'early on' is like 35-40 years old...

Derek & Jessica are definitely doing something right as parents. I come from a family of 7 kids that were all close in ages with 5 boys. Getting the boys to "work together" without fighting or otherwise trying to kill each other was nearly impossible for our parents. Seeing these guys working together as a team with no quarrelling or sibling rivalry is giving me hope for this generation of kids. Also, seeing them outside enjoying life and getting their hands dirty is so refreshing. So tired of watching kids today play inside on their cell phones and game consoles. Kudos to Derek & Jessica and loving this new channel for the kids!

It's not only great to see them spannering but they're inspiring other youngsters around the world to get their hands dirty too, my lad is now wanting to get in the garage / shop to work on a bike project I've got going and, for once, not on the playstation. Result!
I know he gets tips and help from mom and dad behind the scenes on some of these videos but this kid, and his brothers are just doing it right!! Good parents make this possible but it doesnt hurt that these boys are such good kids. That took some serious time, work and dedication from the boys to make that old buggy look this good. Keep up the good work. I built my daughter the exact same kart from what was a total pile of junk. We traded it for a golf cart. Great timing on the video for some good memories. Monday is 2nd anniversary of her passing. Please make sure you buckle up every time you’re in the kart and bombing around the ranch doing work.

They 100% had permission to get into the goodie stash of paint and bolts but i am certain that as well behaved and respectful as they seem to be, Derek and Jessica would allow them to do ALMOST anything they want to do. They could probably say "Mom and Dad, we are gonna get grandpas old Buick down off the lift and wash it then take it for a spin around Rusty Acres" The only thing said to them might be along the lines of be careful or do you need help getting it down? LOL Just seem to be a solid family unit

Great collaboration boys! Reminded me of how my brothers and their friends got started. By the time they were 15, they were pooling their money to buy cars to fix up. By the time they were 16, they each had a good car to drive. One went on to be an automotive engineer with some cool patents, another a helicopter mechanic that travelled all over the place. All of those guys had a lifetime of hobby car fun that made for a lifetime of great friendship.
I love how the kids are using their individual strengths to make quality content. And that they are working together to do that makes it so much better!! There’s some serious bonding going on!! What a great family! I hope I meet you all some day! Families like yours is what makes America America.
