Nicely done, you two! Looks like you had a super fun time and you're quickly getting more comfortable on the whitewater! We laughed when Jess found out she wasn't in Ontario anymore...haha! Keep 'em coming 😁
Thanks mate, MHO has a really good website with all of their trips listed for the 2023 season you could check out. They even have a trip for the Yukon and NWT that look pretty incredible!
Hey thanks for checking it out Kevin! We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us a comment. You are correct in saying the Noire is a great run, we had an absolute blast! (if you cant tell by the smiles on our faces in the video, hahaha)
Hey thanks, and yes great eye! Are you apart of Traversing? the picture is a screen grab from the previous day of our Noire River adventure. We did a poll on our Instagram account with a few images and this was the one everyone chose.
@@Tents.and.Timber I've been to the traversing website a few times. I was just scrolling through the photo contest and noticed your picture which stuck in my memory, it was very unique, you don't often see a canoe with people sideways in the river 😂
Wow you guys are skilled! Amazing work. I need to learn your canoe language so my husband and I an get better at canoeing on regular water - not even this rushing whitewater canoeing. Crazy how much water gets in!
We hope that you do! It's easy, just get out there and try, start small and work your way up. There is so much incredible content online now to get you setup for whatever type of adventure you want to do. If you prefer cottage life or glamping or backcountry canoe trips do what works for you. We of course are glad to help out where we can as well.
@@Tents.and.Timber The course was great but we haven’t navigated white water in a canoe since then. We paddled in a canoe, with two young kids, from Kingston to Ottawa, which is flat all the way (locks). We have since moved to kayaks and have only paddled small rapids once, in Algonquin Provincial Park. Seeing your video made me want to get back in a canoe.
@@thebrownknowser oh thats interesting, we have never really tried kayaks, unless you count Swifts packboat style of canoe that uses a kayak style seat and kayak paddle
Wish I had big rivers/rapids near me to go exploring on. Hopefully not turning over in rivers, but I guess at some point I will haha. Hopefully in summer when it’s warm
Come on over, we have lots of rivers to share! And don't worry about tipping, that was probably the most important lesson we learned on this trip, its okay to tip, it will happen, learn from it and move on.
Hey great question, they actually have trips for all skill levels, even some family friendly trips. If you scroll through their website it will list if advanced or moderate skills are required. With that said even on our trip if we didn't feel comfortable at any point we could have portaged around the rapid.
Looks like a blast!
You got that right, it was an absolute blast! Have you ever paddled the Noire River?

Hahaha yeah that was too funny not to have in our bloopers section! Our comfort level definitely came along way during this trip.
Cool. I want to learn more about MHO

Just watched it. Noire is a great run. Thanks for showing the pleasures of this wild Quebec gem.

Nice adventure.
The thumbnail picture is the one you sent into Traversing for their Nov 2022 photo contest 🙂

@@DerekSOutdoors hahaha, its not something we hope to replicate frequently😂
That ducky style looks like the best way to learn and build up some confidence on the river.
Oh absolutely, it is significantly better than portaging thats for sure.
Super cool!! What a way to attack the rapids!! On the list to do for sure!! Cheer's!! J & C
Not sure if we won the attack, but it was a ton of fun, hahaha.
Great job guys, and that thumbnail is awesome!!!!
Thanks so much Dave! The thumbnail was the collective efforts of everyone who follows us, everyone helped choose

Great video! Reminds me of when DW and I took a white-water canoe course, many years ago. Exciting!
Thanks mate, have you experienced much whitewater canoeing since that course, and did the course help you?

@@Tents.and.Timber Those are great. A friend has one and we've paddle along each other. Very different from a kayak.
