- Solo camping, trying to catch brook trout, and cooking on a reflector oven beside a waterfall on the Oxtongue River in Ontario, Canada. Shuttled myself back to car on a bike.
Thanks to Xander Budnick for letting me borrow his reflector oven.
Budnick brothers are the best. Best camping videos on UA-cam by far.
I am happy to hear you think that, thanks for watching!
Love your videos, just you and nature. Media is so full of anger and crazy people. There's nothing like a fire, a tent and being away from it all. Thank you.
There is always peacefulness if you look for it! :) Thanks for stopping by and for the thoughtful comment. Cheers!
" I could do this all day"...If only we could all feel think and see this, the world would be much better with happy people...thanks much for the great trip..Best
My pleasure, Shawn! I appreciate you stopping by. Cheers! :)
So cool to see the contrast between you and Xander. You budnicks are good folk
:)
Gravel falls! Nice spot. Water is high too! 🏕🍻
You got that right!

Oh come on! Xander would've easily managed going over that miniature waterfall! Can't believe you wouldn't give it a go! ;) (Joking obv) -.-

Fantastic no need to wait on your brothers vids. Beautiful and peaceful. All the best.
Many thanks!
Beautiful video, you really love nature and what you do, it shows in your videos and in your face as you are experiencing everything.
Thanks Victoria I truly do love getting outdoors!
I just wish your videos were longer, especially the spring, summer, fall ones. Beautiful scenery and peaceful vibes.
Hey there. Happy you enjoyed this :) And thanks for the feedback - I'm definitely interested in making longer videos - just need to keep getting better at filming and editing. Takes a lot of footage for each minute of edited video, but over time I hope it will become easier... Anyway, thanks again and Cheers!
Way to capture the beauty of the Ox! Thanks Max👊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for taking us with you on the portage. Love seeing where you ate going and checking out the beautiful area!

Halfway through the video and the food looks delish. We need that recipe
Ingredients are : Bell pepper, ground beef, rice, cheese and some chives. If cooked in the oven cook at 350 for around 25 m Thanks for watching:)
Well done, improvise, adapt, overcome!
Thanks again!
The first 20 seconds is enough to fall in love with your filming and editing style. Love it, Maxim, it's so immersive, calm and beautiful.
Thanks! I really appreciate that
Must be super exciting to enjoy life like that 🍀
I feel very grateful
Hey Brother great video smashed the sub looking forward to more 🍻

Another great video! You have a knack for capturing all of the critters, beautiful scenery and nature happening all around you . . . so peaceful! Thank you!
Thanks a lot, much appreciated!
Love your compositions and eye for subtle detail in water flow and vegetation.
The scene of your campsite at 11:10 is magnificent.
Really enjoying your vids from Australia
Thanks a lot Mat, means a lot
Good video. Wish you success in getting more and more subscribers!
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it!
I've been watching your brother's videos for a while now. Just realized you had a channel, double the pleasure!
A bit perplexed how you can be out in wilderness and not know where your knife is; think that would be a priority.
Beautiful scenery and ultimate camping spot.
This was actually the first time I ever forgot it. Since I go out frequently I have a system where I don't usually need to check every item before I go out. I had a spare in my multi tool but still haven't found it unfortunately . Thanks for watching :)
I wish I could smell that place. Loving your channel Max
It was so fresh. All too fleeting. Thanks for watching Dane!
Another beauty, thank you Maxim!
Thanks Nicholas!

Just started checking out your videos Max I really enjoy the calmness of your videos and all the wildlife and natural vista's. Kind of opposite the style of your brother's content which I also enjoy. Great job keep them coming!
Thanks Walt, your feedback is appreciate!
Jumped on the Maxim train 2 days ago. Wishing you the same success for your channel as what's his name. Not to sound soppy, but your calmness & demeanour is kinda soothing. Keep it up, keep it you.
Thanks for the feedback Rob l. Means a lot :)
@@maximbudnickYour most welcome. Now "GO TO BED!" Sorry, didn't mean to yell.

Only u and ur brother.... And i love love the places u go.... So beutiful thank you for giving me my me time ( after a long day with 3 active little boys) through ur videos....
My first question is how did you carry a boat with a bike 😂 great filming tho! Making the effort to capture the sailing seems like a lot of work
Nope I left my bike hidden in the forest at the place where I planned to end the canoe part of my journey. I biked back to my car and then went back and picked up my canoe. Thanks for watching!
SOLO CAMPING BY WATERFALL OXTONGUE RIVER ... FRESH AIR AND PIECEFULL PLACE
Yes, it was incredibly peaceful. Thanks for watching!
Loved it. Thanks for sharing. But I went dense- you went back to your car on the bike. Where was your canoe?
I left the canoe at the take out, biked back to my car and then drove back to my canoe to pick it up :) Thanks for watching!
@@maximbudnick I actually thought of that after I asked. Thanks for taking the time to respond though.
Great overnight campsite. Bet it was hard to leave. Was that a Blue Heron you caught on video ????? I really enjoyed this Video.
Yup that was a great blue heron. Thanks, it was a beautiful trip!
Beaver is like, yeah…we can run this!

Like they say; "It's not about the rod, it's what you do with it!" lol.
That's right! haha
I hope we will see more brother videos. Always more fun for me to watch. Who is the elder that taught the younger all the little camping tricks like scraping birch bark?
Hey, good question. We should probably be going out later this week actually. I am the older brother and I taught Xander how to white water canoe and brought him winter camping for the first time ect. Though he has put more milage in the last 2 years so I have started to learn a lot back from him which is cool. Thanks for watching!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Kingpie! Glad you enjoyed! :)
@@maximbudnick Yes Sir as always. Thank you
Dam now I have to by a bigger knife block to fit the axe in😂
haha thanks for watching!
Damm, U and YOUR brother can really eat!
How did your parents do it?
Do they own a farm and a cattle ranch? LOL
Haha I don't know. All the paddling and portaging helps :) thanks for watching!
Can you do a video of cooking when you’re camping?
Thanks for the suggestion, I will consider it :)
i like your videos. are you brothers with xander budnick?. I'm a new subscriber from Indonesia 🇮🇩
Yes Xander is my brother :) Welcome!
Great video Maxim... Love your filming style... Question: Which part of Oxtongue did you set up your camp at? Do you need to book it? or was it crown land?
Thanks! It was un-administered provincial park (oxtounge- ragged falls provincial park). I started and parked here: 45.41298968689356, -78.8600545837389 and ended at ragged falls.
@@maximbudnick Sounds good... is it ok to park by the side of the Hwy?
There is an open area which I am pretty sure is a snowplow turn around I just risked it but Across the street though a little to the north and west the is a little gravel pullout up a slight hill there are two parking spots there. I am pretty sure you would be fine there.
Upper Twin Falls?
You got it, Dan. Good eye!
Great video! You eat a lot slower than your Brother:]
Haha that's not saying too much considering how Xander goes at it in his videos. Cheers man thanks for watching
Did your canoe take a hot air balloon home while you biked?
he says in comments that he shuttled himself back to the car by bike
I left my car up river and had a bike stashed in the woods at the take out. I biked back to the car and then returned to pick up my canoe.
Thanks for watching!
🤝🏻💪🏻🐬😀🌲👍🏻
🦫🙂
I was thinking…DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE NAMED XANDER?
Yes he is my brother. Next video will be with him :)
It’s kind of ironic and a sign of the times …..Walmart used to have a good outdoors department. They always had cheap gear BUT they also carried a nice selection of good quality items like Ambassador reels made in Sweden, USA knives etc., then I noticed shrinkage of the whole department and knock off versions of the items I mentioned. Nowadays I don’t even venture in there and save my money to order the best in all my gear online, but it’s too bad I can’t go into a brick and mortar shop to support local economy because even those stores mainly stock Chinese junk. Sad and pathetic plastic throwaway society.
Yes Jeff we do live in a disposable society. Hopefully we can find ways in the future for it to not be so.
Screw Xander whats good
o_o
Thanks for watching Deklan
