This video is great! I'm clueless about this stuff and I just replaced my element today following your steps and it was a successful fix. And saved me a ton of money too. Thank you!!
Look for the tech sheet under the machine behind the kick plate and follow the instructions for putting into service mode. Activating auto service mode and letting it run all the way through should recalibrate the machine
Question, if i just replaced my heating element and its still not heating up should i do a factory reset on the dishwasher or is it something else causing the problem? My heating element had actually snapped and broke (why i was replacing it)
Heating elemet from my dishwasher is measuring 13 ohms . I am not sure if it is bad ? Any input on the issue ( the dishwasher was stopping in wash cycle )
normal range is 10-40 oms. find the tech sheets for your model number and it will give you all the info you need. Try finding the tech sheet on Reddit appliance forums or appliance blogs or pay for it online
There is a limit fuse on some diswasher. some are resettable and some are not. Make sure the wires are securely connected to the heating element. If the float switch is not functioning properly it may not advance the cycles.
Great guy! Helped me via phone and saved me hundreds of dollars! Knows his stuff.
thank you so much for the tip. It was a true pleasure helping you
Just bought our first house and this video saved us $$$ thank you

This was the better of two I watched - excellent

Can you buy replacement clips (I couldn't find them) where they keep the heating element in place and are attached to the bottom of the tub?
it is possible. call this number 800-347-2745 and have your model number ready
Can I use the dishwasher with a broken heating element (looks exactly like your video) while I wait on a new part, or is that unsafe?
Great video. Thank you!!
Great instructions, thanks
thank you
Any suggestions if after replacing the new heating element it’s still not heating and drying the dishes?
There is a calibration. Pit it in diagnostic test mode and it will reset

Some units have a high limit fuse. look for a resent button underneath. follow the wires
@@appliancerepairamerican some whirlpool/kitchenaids you have to put the unit into test mode after replacement to re-enable the heater.

I have the same exact unit, replaced the heating element and still no heat. any ideas what could be the issue ? Thanks
Check the thermal fuse on the bottom
Could be a loose wire from r the control also
@atlasappliancerepair where is the thermal fuse located on this unit?
@@mr.spittle136 If there is one you would find it underneath. If you have trouble locating it just follow the wires from the element
love it!
Thank you
Dig it

This doesn't look so easy to me. Too many steps, unscrewing things, and disconnecting wires. I'll call a repair person.
As a repair technician I appreciate that 😊
