Wayne did the best explanations of things from over a dozen videos I've looked at. Thanks Wayne. I've been putting off checking this out. It was brand new when we bought our condo and the sellers had already moved out but it was never used. Brand new appliances and the water line was too short so it never even got hooked up. Hasn't been drying completely since day one so now I have some really simple and basic things to check before having to call a pro, if I even have to. Thanks again.
You should make the people in chat who can not do anything without a model number aware of this excellent video. I am glad I found it. Our problem may be the hot water since we had the hot water heater replaced and sometime after that my wife began complaining about dishes not drying. Thank you.
I watched this video back in July and since then, I’ve been using these tips for loading. Maybe this sounds hyperbolic, but my life is changed for the better. Thank you!
This was a very informative video. Easy to understand and clearly explained! I am glad you went over the easy simple fixes first, and then the tougher mechamical fixes. That way I know to what to try before I get my tools out! Thank you!
Excellent video, wish I had found this earlier. Comprehensive, without going into the weeds. Cogent descriptions. Well done. This video would apply to circumstances where pink slime is appearing within your dishwasher, too. Not just dishes not drying.
my old dishwasher lasted 20 years and never gave me any problem. Dryed perfectly with every kind of temperature and i didnt even use the rinse aid at all. The problem is modern dishwashers
Thanks for a detailed video. My warsher element is stone cold during the drying cycle so today I'm pulling mine out to test thermostat and heating element. This video answered my question, can you test both parts without removing it from dishwasher and the video clearly demonstrated that.
Great video for a starting point. I wish it went further in investigating the wet dishes issue, though. In my case, the steam is not being released from the inside of the dishwasher during the heating/drying cycle - so something's not opening to let it out.
Some dishwashers have a vent that opens during the drying cycle to allow steam to escape the tub. Let us know the model number of your dishwasher and we'll provide some information and troubleshooting tips to help you with your dishwasher.
@@suerogers6859 That model of dishwasher has a simple vent that doesn't open/close during the cycle. Steam will vent out during the drying cycle. If dishes (other than plastics) aren't drying, a failed heating element could be the problem. Give us more details about the problem if you need more help.
I have a light gray area on the heating element of my dishwasher. Does this mean it is not working properly? Some of my dishes and the inside of the dishwasher are staying wet.
Check the control board before pulling the dishwasher. You can see if it is burnt up before pulling dishwasher out and replacing heating element, just to find out it was the control board all along.
In changing the heating element you do not have to pull the dishwasher completely out and turn it over. You can simply pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet part of the way and lay down in the floor and reach up under it easily to undo the Locking nuts holding a heating element in there is no reason to fully remove the dishwasher and turn it on its side.
You're right. You can use that process to change the heating element in some dishwasher models. In this video, we show pulling the dishwasher out and laying it on its side to check the heating element using a multimeter. Here's a link for our video that shows how to replace the heating element in a dishwasher: www.searspartsdirect.com/repair-guide/Dishwasher/how-to-replace-a-dishwasher-heating-element.html . In that repair video, we also show how to pull the dishwasher completely out and lay it on its side so DIY viewers can see how to get the easiest access to the heating element nuts. Because the heating element nuts help hold the heating element water seals in place and prevent water leaks, it's important for DIY'ers to properly install those heating element nuts. Advanced DIY'ers may be able to remove and reinstall the heating element nuts without pulling the dishwasher out and laying it on its side.
Thanks for the video, anyone can help me on this one? "No dry heat" light on continuosly I have opened everuthing redid some suspect soldering on th eboard, It worked fine than the "no dry heat" light turn on again after a while, I believe is a wire problem. After seens this video, I think I'm goingto open again and check the temostat and the heating element.
Thanks for posting that portion of the model number, but we’ll also need the 8 numbers after the 665 to tell which type of Kenmore Elite 665 dishwasher that you have. Many different types of Kenmore Elite dishwashers start with the model numbers 665.
Why the God darn hell would I need a rinse aid for a $1000 dollar washer? Stupid !!!! I had a GE heated dry washer $500 dollars that dried perfectly for 10 years , it failed so I bought a top of the line whirlpool which requires a rinsing aid and it doesn't do nearly the same job, OMG I'm pissed!!
