      Playing this game on Pad is a bit weird at times, but it's very possible!

  • @unr34L-
    @unr34L- 14 днів тому

    This is why you need a arcade stick/leverless for this game lol, pad is completely fine until you start getting into the intermediate levels with wanting to learn tech & when you start getting a grasp of understanding/get a feel for the game (35-50 hours of playing), this game was designed with an arcade controller in mind, and only an arcade controller.
    Doing stuff like short tri jumps (whiffing a normal instantly after SJ to further shorten a tri-jump) on stick is SOOO much easier, there's a reason every top tier Magneto player/MvC2 player in general is on stick or leverless, lol.
    Here's a drinkinggame if you're playing online, every top-tier player you play against that is doing superb executions (Sentinel re-fly stuff, Magneto shenanigans, etc) ask them if they're on an Arcade Stick, and take a shot every-player that says yes, you'll be under the table in an hour guaranteed, lol.
    As a life-long pad user for FGs, making the switch to Stick was pretty hard at first but pretty easy, I strongly suggest making the switch if you are really thinking about it, and no matter WHAT, don't pick up the pad again when learning the stick, or you'll get buyer's remorse; the more you use the stick, the more you learn and develop muscle memory, I suggest forcing yourself to only use stick for at least 2-3 months, and if you feel like you haven't made any progress & don't enjoy it more than pad even after that time, drop it.
    Also Arcade sticks just feel so amazingly satisfying, they are great to use from the joystick, to the buttons, to just holding the thing, & as someone that loves the sounds of stuff like mechanical keyboards, Arcade sticks sound excellent, just that alone was more than enough for me to at least try a stick after using pad for so long.
    Plus learning stick allows you to get into so many other games, and once you get the chance to play on genuine arcades in-person, you'll have a blast instead of mucking about with the controls.
    If you want a recommendation on how to even get started with getting a stick, just get a Hori Alpha, the market is very vast & complicated at first with the many different buttons (Sanwa, Hayabusa) but the Hori Alpha can guarantee you a subpar experience even if you don't like it at first, because its main selling-point is the customizability and ease of access with modding & repairing it, you can easily replace the buttons/lever if you don't like the original parts, the only issue you could face from it is that it's made of plastic instead of some nicer material like the qanba obsidian or older Hori products that are made of metal.
    DO NOT buy cheap or settle for anything less than $200, you will be extremely disappointed and limited, trust me.
    If you don't end up liking it or unable to learn it, make sure to watch videos on how to hold the stick and general handling of one, you may think you don't but trust me, the people teaching you on those videos have ancient knowledge that will help you immensley or give you an idea of how to handle one.
    If you still struggle even after 3+ months of use, you can always re-sell it on the internet or something, people are always looking to get into arcade sticks & someone will buy it up quick, even if it has visible wear'n'tear on it like scratches, because the Hori Alpha is easily fixable.
    Sorry for the rant I just want every FG player to at least TRY consistently learning a stick, unless you play MK or non-traditional FGs, those games were made with pads in mind & NRS hasn't made an MK official stick since MK9 (thanks guys, I can't use literally any modern stick because of the button layouts all being the same or a different variety of the same layout, I NEED MUH SPECIAL BLOCK BUTTON FOR MY THUMB THAT IS DOWN BY LK!)

    Map R1 to LP + HP and you don’t have to hold the controller like that. Easy wave dash. Additionally map R2 to LK + HK and you could press both to get easy smart bombs with iron man or lightning charges with storm without holding the controller crazy

      @@bloodthirstydeitysht9244 Do you have something to gain from laughing at children (or just those without experience) the same way people a decade or more older than us did to you? We're getting old. Nobody said you had to repeat the cycle and be an ass over something so trivial. Just embrace the fact that people want to learn something, man. There is literally nothing to gain from a mindset like this.
