Thanks! Star Wars is a favorite for sure! I'm going to try to do a special topic every month so I'll definitely be revisiting it in the future. Maybe I'll do a video all about the music in the prequels and sequels.
Lol! All of the noises you can hear without the music. Great video! Also loved seeing the comparison between his music and the classical pieces that inspired them. It’s a good thing those are so old or else he would have been sued for how similar these are! Haha. John Williams is brilliant. I adore the Jurassic Park and Harry Potter soundtracks as well. Harry Potter has a lot of leitmotifs too.
All composers borrow from other composers. There's only so many notes. There are classical pieces in the score for "The Wizard of Oz", and it won best score that year, over "Gone With The Wind", which has authentic southern songs in it.
Am I wrong, but doesn’t the entire main Star Wars theme follow the notes and rhythms of the finale from the Intermezzo of Puccini’s Manon Lescaut? Williams takes it at a much faster clip, with punchy rhythm, because after all, Puccini wrote it as a simple love theme, not a space anthem!
Good question, but it's a complicated answer. The short answer is pandemic. The long answer would take a while to really explain. The good news is I'm actually writing new episodes right now!
More Star Wars!! Rey's theme in 7-9 is my favorite new leitmotif. I'd love to see more of this analysis on the rest of the series.

Thanks! Yeah, some of those comparisons really made my eyebrows raise.
Great video! I would love to see more film music from your channel in the future.
Thanks! There's a lot to talk about for sure! Each video takes a lot of work so it might be a while before the next one but I've got some big plans!

Including some of Mendelssohn’s Songs without Words, used mostly for Toto’s scenes.
And with thy spirit. Lol!
