  • This video explores the sneaky ways overthinking messes with your head and changes how you think and act. If you have a tendency to overanalyze situations, procrastinate on important tasks, or worse, spiral down negative thinking patterns that fuel self doubt and a fear of failure, you’re likely an overthinker. But it's not just about the internal struggle. Overthinking can manifest in odd behaviors and avoidance tactics, especially when it comes to social settings, due to fears of judgment.
It's fascinating (and a bit alarming) how our minds can turn against us, causing subconscious self sabotage. In fact, overthinking is associated with certain mental health issues, including generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder.
Whether you’re constantly battling decision fatigue, trapped in a loop of rumination, or experiencing the paralysis of analysis, the good news is that it’s possible to break the cycle of overthinking. You can learn how to manage stress and anxiety, identify and address cognitive distortions, and combat negative self talk. If you’re looking for some practical tips on how to stop overthinking everything and start living, check out the videos linked below.

Man, I understand this. It’s like a constant hyper awareness of everything. And if there is nothing to think about, your mind is uncomfortable with peace so it finds something to worry about.

I feel every one of these. Overthinking is exhausting for me.

As an INTJ, I tend to overthink things a lot. However, I've learned to embrace it. I recently quit my job after spending a lot of time thinking about how to make a better career path and avoid all the office politics. Looking back, it was the best decision I've ever made.

Here's useful advice: focus on stepping, rather than walking.
You already know where you're going. Uneven terrain can cause you to stumble and fall, so focus on where you are placing your feet.
Hiking helps me calm myself. However, I have to focus on my feet, or I could land up on my face.
A couple of years ago, I stumbled on some slippery rocks. I fell and a kind postal worker stopped. She called 911 on my behalf.
A's I stood, I noticed red on the limerock. I asked, "Is that my blood?" She said, "Yes".
I felt no pain. Still, I was injured.
    Took six stitches.

Me too. I definitely need to apply some of these principles to combat that, but sometimes I feel way too sure that I cannot change. Getting "set in my ways" unfortunately lol. Hope your day is greatly blessed.

While the video itself wasn't bad (as its super relatable for me) i honestly wouldn't mind a vid on how overthinking can be beneficial compared with how it can completely ruin your life. But its just a suggestion...not necessarily a request...because with what is going on in the 🌎 i believe its a very important topic that deserves a much deeper dive especially in the most trivial of matters. And trusting the self can be very difficult in today's world, especially when it comes to even the most basic thinking - along with Freudian methods in regard to self focus, self regard, the id, ego, and superego (which in this vid i think can hint at self-esteem issues). And yes, motives, trust, and hypervigilence are extreme complex issues - especially in concern to selfsabotage (which im prone to) and i think we all take it for granted sometimes when our frequency is often misjudged especially in regard to the constant internet and political bias, and bias in general. If im being perfectly clear, society is a rigged system, and needs to change for the better (and really thats the type A personality coming out of me). And yesssssss failure sometimes is necessary for the vicious cycle that is part of a severely corrupt system of overgeneralization and assumptions which (as quoted by leo gura) is the mother of all F-ups...jmho.

Can't. But can learn to watch the thoughts and detach from them, not take them seriously.
